Have you had a good or bad experience with pregnancy due dates? Have they been a useful tool or caused unhelpful pressure? Let me know in the comments, I'd be interested to hear your experiences.

Once again, bringing up the truth about the limitations of modern medicine. Your voice in this arena is so powerful and appreciated 💪

Thanks a lot! So much of modern medicine based on the idea that nature is danger and we need to control it because we know best. For the most part we are tinkering with things we haven't even begun to understand. May be fine to do that in an emergency, but can be v dangerous when applied to routine care.

Great video again on a topic which seriously needs addressing.
I had my daughter naturally at 37 weeks, she was the perfect size, I'm very petit so I think it was just when my body was ready, it was a really easy labour and only had gas and air. I had my son just less than a year ago at 40+1 and again he was practically the same weight as my daughter, again perfect. I had zero pain relief.
The most shocking thing was that they'd predicted his percentile at 3, all down to the fact that they (at 3 appointments weeks apart) could not measure head size, so guessed. When I went for my 38 week scan the sonographer said are you going for your sweep/induction now? And I said no, why, to which he responded, well most women are getting rather uncomfortable at this point!! Shocking! I said it's not about me is it. I had a baby boy in the 12th centile and the labour lasted 8 minutes!
It's really sad, again like you said the amount of inductions which end in emergency C-sections.
Why on earth is the NHS doing this?

Thanks for sharing your experience, that is v. concerning re encouraging sweep/induction at 38 weeks with no good reason for baby (and the percentile guess). Great you were switched on because same scenario to a different women could have sent them down the induction path and a completely unnecessary induction - very sad to think this is happening all the time. 3 weeks apart for your babies and same weight - it almost sounds like your body knew what it was doing (shock horror to health services).
I have no idea why NHS is so often encouraging medicalisation of birth, though it's highly variable - my wife has had some v good midwives who have encouraged and supported with home birth, and disliked a lot of the push for medicalisation. Even reading the different sources on induction from different NHS trusts - the language feels different from hospital to hospital with how they present the risks and benefits on induction.

If you can find a financial incentive for someone in a 'mistake', it's probably not a mistake. There is rampant malpractice for financial gain in many similar industries such as dental or even automotive.

Thank you Dr. Philip. More Medicalization. More PROFIT$! Unfortunately THEY BUILT THEIR BUSINESS MODEL ON PROFIT$, NOT CARE and WHAT'S BEST FOR MOTHER and CHILD. Find a doctor with heart and ethics who STILL PRACTICES THE HIPPOCRATIC OATH. 🙏🙏🙏

Haha thanks, yea I was angry at that point so he just looked at me baffled as I'm sure many women do just go for it because it's just the done thing now. I think I added something like, I've not been comfortable for the last 38 weeks! Ha! @@arianaquinonez7106

Many students are starting 7th grade this year and are required to get vaccinated. Please do a video on Tdap vaccine.
