    I get sooo irritated at videos that say do this now, but I have No idea when now is or when the video was posted. So when you said you had included all the planting dates in the description below I was Very excited. Thank you very much for that. I too am in East Texas ( from Indiana), and I am still learning Texas planting and harvesting times. 👍🏻

    I'm in zone 8a SC and my garlic has only been taking 7 months from planting to harvest. I plant it the end of November and harvest in June. Sometimes, when I plant it, it is after the first frost but the ground is still warm. They still do well.

    Thank you! I planted spinach and lettuce seeds end of Sept and the flipping squirrels (that my neighbor feeds) plow through the beds and each time I try they won’t sprout; only the peas made it. Once I finish building the squirrel barriers I will try again, before Oct. 15th :) And yay, the collards will continue to grow! Glad I found this channel - thank you

      I put garden wire around my vegetables in the spring to keep rabbits and squirrels out of them. For my Fall planting, my husband has built me a raised (waist-high) garden bed. Worked out well this summer with different flowers. Guess I need Fall flowers now!

    THE BEST VIDEO I'VE EVER SEEN
    Thank you for:
    The dates to plant
    The video break down
    The seed types (in the caption)
    Planting tips and tricks
    Seed description: OMG/TY by category and variety, also personal picks
    Physically showing us how to do it
    Companion planting: incorporating seeds with already established plants.
    I've been looking for years for a video that includes all the important facts.
    What to plant, what kind to plant, when to plant, where to plant, with what to plant, how to plant.
    Thanks,
    Monique

    I planted peas, today, this should give them enough time to grow pretty good before our first frost. I Added some Epson salts and bone meal to the pots I planted the peas in. Tomorrow, I will finish tilling my garden with my Mantis. I will turn in some lime, 10-10-10 and some bone meal into the garden. I will plant primarily spinach, cabbage and lettuce in my garden. They should do well this winter. I am not a kale person. I got some turnip and mustard seeds for my daughters garden. I am not a turnip or mustard person, too. I also bought her a new easy start Mantis for her birthday. Mine is a 13 year old Mantis that I restored. Both are two cycle versions. I do not support battery driven equipment, at all.

    I loooove collard greens! I have to see if they'll do well here. I didn't know swiss chard was a perennial, we have a few plants in the ground still that has survived all the heatwaves. We haven't started our fall planting quite yet (we're so behind XD our chickens are starting to lay!) but we'll probably take advantage of the cooler weather to get some planting done. Take care, hope your garden does well!!

    HI THERE! zone 8a here! thanks for the vid. I heard you say epsom salt for this area. Im assuming because this area has alot of clay interference in soil? :] we bought our first house so im about to transform our new backyard into a food forest hehe

    Nero di toscsna or cavolo nero or Tuscan kale is all kale, famous in Tuscany. Try their Ribollita soup that made this plant famous: omg!

      @CountryLivingExperience  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I will surely try the soup. Sounds great. The company I buy the seeds from (one of the largest organic seeds companies www.rareseeds.com) labels it as a cabbage. It surely looks like a kale. Same vegetable family though.

    True story my first time planting I was so excited and went to Home Depot bought a bunch of starter veggies and planted them. Thanks and have a great day!

      @CountryLivingExperience  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      " *Nero Di Toscana Cabbage* . This loose-leafed cabbage dates back to the early 1800s at least. It has beautiful, heavily savoyed, deep black-green leaves that can be 24 inches long. This Italian heirloom is popular in Tuscany and central Italy for making fabulous soups and stews and is one of the most beautiful and flavorful types you can grow. One of the healthiest vegetables we ever tested! It can have up to 3 times the recommended daily vitamin A, plus loads of minerals, calcium, and vitamin C, as well as lots of fiber and protein, truly a miraculous plant from historic Italy." I have also used tomato leaf tea to spray my brassicas to keep pests off. The only problem is you need to spray every 3 days. I've chosen to make a low tunnel using bug netting and as long as you protect the seedlings from pests laying eggs before planting and keep the netting at least 3 inches from the nearest leaf then your brassicas should remain pest free without sprays. The slugs can still get at them.
