Presenting, Annamacharya and his popular compositions with Carnatic Devotional Songs. Annamacharya is considered to be one of the notable composers of the golden era of Carnatic Devotional Songs. He is most commonly associated with the golden age of Carnatic Devotional Songs. Annamacharya had a vision of Lord Venkateswara when he was at 16. After that he spent the rest of his life composing Kirtanas and Padams on him. His compositions are around 32,000. Only 14,000 are available now engraved on copper plates which were hidden for centuries in a niche of Sri Venkateswara temple at Tirumala.
He developed a great love for music and devotional compositions. He surprised many with his ability to sing very complicated songs and even composed some of his own songs on Lord Venkateswara. In the birth place of Annamaya, there is a 108 feet statue with a greenary park on the Tirupathi - Kadapa Highway. In his birthplace there is a temple for the lord Chennakesava Swamy also, one Kalyana mandapam is also there.
INRECO offers a humble homage to Andhra Pada kavita Pitamaha (Godfather of Telugu song-writing), Tallapaka Annamacharya on his birth anniversary today. The transcendental saint was probably the earliest known composer of ‘Sankirtanas’ eulogizing Lord Venkateswara. His compositions of the keertanas are sung by Carnatic artistes of repute till date. His immortal masterpieces were said to be deciphered from copper plates that mentioned even the ragas in which he composed. This compilation consists of such compositions by him.
