    Good review, My 2019 Big Horn sport is coming up on 20K and no real issues with it. I did hit my rear axle and Pumkin with some fluid film to test it out and wow still looks like brand new, will do the rest of the underbody before next winter.

    Awesome review of the truck. We purchased ours December of 2019. We're a Dodge truck Family, and our former truck was 2014 SLT with a lot of extras. The 14 averaged around 18mpg with my heavy foot and a K&N air filter. With the 19, we can tell the truck uses more gas, but why worry about gas when your having fun.
    At the end of the review you show the back up camera. Your have your guide lines fixed. In the settings menu for the back up camera you can switch it adjustable, and it shows you with the guide lines your placement or angle when backing up.

    My 2015 Ram 1500 5.7 Lone Star has been pretty good. Only issues I have had is both front wheel bearings replaced and fuel level sending unit replaced. Both done under warranty rought around 50,000 miles. Only regret is I wish I would have got 4x4.

    Very good video. Would like to have seen more than 2-3 minutes spent on the interior, however. I am strongly considering one of these trucks. Other than the glitch in the 4WD system, how has reliability of the truck been? I love the exterior, and interior design of these trucks, just a little skittish to buy one, since they have had lots of reliability problems in the past. A real owner is the best source of information on this. I really like the exhaust you installed too. Is it that much louder than stock? Why did you install it. Thanks again for the great video. Also, what is your average gas mileage, in mixed driving?

    You need a programmer to reset your tire size. You can adjust shift values for bigger tires for your ECU or on board computer. I have a Superchips tuner it works great. What octane gas are you running? Winter blend gasoline here in Oregon is different from summer blend. Not sure about Michigan. I seem to get 1-1.5 mpg better in warm months unless I'm driving fast & furious. 😂

    Most vehicles have environmental fallout. Feel lucky that your truck is White, so you can see the issue better, than if you had another color. White is a great easy color to take care of and maintain. Just a quick Clay job will clean up the paint from impurities very fast and easy.

    I’m considering a 2020 Ram 1500 but I’ve never owned an FCA product. I know some folks with 2017/2018’s had transmission issues. Are you aware of any of those problems with the new ones or what they’ve done to fix those issues? Ram seems to offer more truck for the money these days compared to Chevy, GMC and Ford especially. I want something I can keep for 10+ years so wanting a good reliable truck to haul a small, under 5000lb bunkhouse travel trailer as well as it be a good “family member” daily driver

      @@williemaykit7940 Ok, I understand better now. That's probably why he's saying the lights weren't that great before he leveled it. Otherwise I'm very happy with my 2019 Ram Laramie 1500 4 wheel drive off road. Great video, do you remember what your MPG was before the BFGs? My 2019 4WD Big Horn has the e-torque system and i'm averaging 18.5 mpg on stock tires. I'm planning on upgrading to the 275/65R20s next week, just hope I don't take that big of a hit on fuel economy. Thanks for the review!

    • @ApexReviewsOfficial
      @ApexReviewsOfficial  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for watching Justen! The average MPG prior to the BFGs was very similar to your 18.5. On average we were tracking at 18, but could hit as high as 20 MPG on a flat road at 60 MPH.
      Acoustically it doesn’t sound like the engine is working any harder, but the increased rolling resistance, unsprung weight, and drag all chip away at that average. The tires themselves have been great. I didn’t mention it in the video, but the stock tires weren’t so hot in the rain, and would commonly spin while taking off at a light. I would assume you’re running the same tires. The BFGs completely solved this and traction throughout all seasons was greatly improved.
      Looking at the MPG in a positive light, at least we get a few more Speedy Reward points now. 😄
      Take care,
      Chad

      @@ApexReviewsOfficial You weren't kidding! I went with the LT tires and lost 5+MPGs I took them back haha. The weight difference was 22 LBS a tire, I'm sure that's what killed it. Went with the BFG road tires in 275/60R20 and right back in the 18-19 range. I couldn't handle it with the tiny 20 gallon fuel tank, I would have been filling up 2-3 times a week.

      @ApexReviewsOfficial  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tbow499, I would absolutely recommend this truck to friends and family. The minor paint issue I mentioned is more environmental (as you mentioned) and not directly related to the paint work itself. It's been a phenomenal vehicle for our family and we look forward to driving it every day. If you're okay with the fuel economy trade off, you cannot go wrong with this engine and rear end setup. It's actually quite quick with this combination, so worrying about merging onto the expressway with a short on ramp would be a thing of the past.

    I have spoken with a few owners who said that have have had to go back to the dealership 4 -7 times for issues or recalls/TSB's? etc, and for them the inconvenience was bothersome and kind of left a bad taste in their mouth so to speak, and/or doubts about long term ownership reliability. Have you had any type of similar experience or thoughts? Thank you.

      Jon, thanks for watching. I completely understand where other owners that you've spoken to can be somewhat concerned about long term reliability when they've seen a few recalls come through for their car. Bearing this in mind, it's quite common that a first model year of a new generation to see a few recalls as the manufacture works out some of the finer details. In our case, we were one of the first few buyers of the new generation RAM from our dealer and we've seen 3 recalls on the truck. They've been for a potential loose ground on the battery, the adjustable pedals potentially having "too much adjustment", and a possible bug in the Occupant Restraint Controller. We hadn't had any issues related to the recalls, but they did come through nonetheless.
      In terms of reliability, the only issue we've had so far was with the 4WD switch acting up once, but outside of that it's been a really solid truck. We're now at 36k miles and while that's still relatively low miles, it's the best baseline I can provide until we get more miles on the vehicle.
      Any a positive side note, we purchased a 2011 Grand Cherokee when that generation was first introduced and also saw quite a few recalls. Jeep understood that it was an inconvenience and sent us (and other owners) a $200 gift card towards any Mopar accessory that we wanted. It was a kind gesture on their behalf to help pay back some of the lost time going in for the recall service.
      Thanks again,

      @@ApexReviewsOfficial Thanks for your reply. Good to hear you haven't had more issues. I was considering purchasing one, because of the reviews on the cabin comfort and ride, and because it can probably be had for a few thousand less than it's competitors, but I would be buying it for the long haul, and was concerned about the reliability. For me after owning many brands over the years (but never a Dodge, Chrysler or Jeep product), reliability for me adds value, I just don't want to be bothered with continued issues and having to return to the dealership, and this also chips away at your trust in the vehicle and pleasure and satisfaction you should have driving it. Thanks again for the review and for your kind reply. Stay safe out there!

We're driving quite a bit less since we are working from home, but the vehicle is running just the same. Congratulations on the purchase of your new truck, you're going to love it.

    i work for delphi and did all the testing on that 8.4 inch uconnect radio from ESD to bulk current injection..... it really didnt like the low voltage cold cranking test i believe CS stated 4.5V (lowest in the waveform) but with the exception of that test it worked extremely well....
    i agree after seeing what GM, Ford, and toyota have offered, the 8.4 uconnect was the best out of all the manufacturers... you know what the REAL killer of this whole thing is.... even tho we make the best radio we killed off 70% of our IDI group because we couldnt compete in that segment so we mostly pulled out of it.... real shame....

    What's your gas mileage? And do you drive mostly city, highway, or 50/50? Thanks in advance !

    • @ApexReviewsOfficial
      @ApexReviewsOfficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We drive a ~50/50 split and get 14 MPG with this set up. The level didn’t change the mileage at all, but the second the E load tires were installed it dropped significantly. If you don’t need the load rating and find a lighter C load tire that you like you could probably get into a 15-16 MPG average.

    I love these trucks! But wow, 19 recalls for 2019 and three so far for the 20. That’s a lot of trips to the dealership. How has your recall experience been with the truck?

    • @dlakerguy
      @dlakerguy 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      They aren't usually all for 1 specific model of truck. Ram makes a lot of different models of trucks. Besides that, most of those recalls get handled in 1 trip.

      Hey Zack, thank you for watching. The details are below.
      2" Leveling Kit: Rough Country 35400
      Tires: LT275/65R20 126S BSW BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2. They are E load tires, but we didn't experience any change in ride quality. If you don't need the load range, and can find it in a C load you may see a mile or two better mileage.

    I have a 2019 RAM, 5.7L, Etorque, 3:21 gears, stock 20" tires, average 19 MPG with about 80/20 road to city driving. I run at 3 mph over usually on highway speed and accelerate normally or above normal at times. At 21K miles no problems at all. Best running/handling/riding overall truck out of many brands and many trucks owned. Usually loaded up with about 400# tools etc in the back.

      I had a 13' Ram 1500 and merging onto interstate the auto 4x4 wouldn't kick in right away and the truck would break the rear out due to light weight of the rear end of the truck

      I don't know if it's exactly the same, but our 2005 Silverado will engage the front hubs in auto. When slip is detected then the transfer case will make the move to 4WD.

      @michalp2362 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      J Diggy You do realize that 4WD at 70 mph on the slippery highway does very little to keep you on the road right? It will sure get you out of deep snow or mud, but if you wanna be safe on the slippery road invest in dedicated snow/winter tires so you can stop and stay in your lane safely.

    Is it possible to send a link of the website for the exact exhaust and what was exactly done for it. The dealer is putting an exhaust of my new truck and I’d like this exact sound if that’s possible please and thank you. It’d be much appreciated

    • @ApexReviewsOfficial
      @ApexReviewsOfficial  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mitch, the link to the kit that we bought is below. I noticed that they've greatly increased the price of the system since we bought it, and I have to say, it's really not worth the almost $1,000 that they are now charging. I looked at the receipt we have in our file, and we paid $630 for the full catback w/ tips shipped to our door, and that's really about all it's worth. The overall build quality, combined with the tips rusting as I mentioned in the video puts these a step behind others such as Borla or Corsa. It truly sounds great; however, the quality isn't there to justify a $1,000. At the point, you're close enough in cost to just go with a more proven manufacture.
      In any case, here is the link. www.carvenexhaust.com/cat-back-kits/ram/https-www-carvenexhaust-com-cat-back-kits-ram-html.html
