Thank you sooo much for doing this video! I have been searching TH-cam looking for videos on how to set up a booth at a craft fair and what all we needed to bring and wasn’t having much luck. How do you get a Square credit card reader? This will be my first craft fair coming up ! Thank you for your video!
Hi Sharon! If you go to the square website you can sign up and get a free reader that you connect to your phone through your phone port. They also have a touchless reader for $50. Good luck on your first craft fair!! 🤍

I'm glad you found it helpful! I started by reaching out to the events that I used to go to in my area and ask how to sign up for the event and/or get put on a waiting list. I also look on Facebook pages in my area bc event coordinators will post on pages about the events. I've also joined Facebook groups that post craft events in my area too
Wat size drop cloths do you use for your tables ?
I believe those are 9x12 - i wanted to make sure all sides of the table were covered so i could store my empty containers underneath ☺️

Hi! The QR codes that I have link to my paypal and venmo. I use the square for the credit/debit card
How do you handle local or state taxes?
I don't add tax to my item(s) at the event. I usually factor the tax (usally a couple dollars) with my misc percentage when factoring my price for that item. I round up to make even numbers bc so many ppl in my area pay cash at the craft events. Not sure if I answered your question so let me know!

hello, was the square free? what was the process in using the square? did you have to add taxes to your items? :)
Hi Shannon! Yes, I got the free square - when you sign up you can opt for the free one or upgrade to other options. The free one plugs into your phone charger slot. In the app, you input the amount owed, swipe the card, and you can send an email or text receipt to the buyer. It tracks all your transactions and it does charge a small % (fee) when they deposit into your bank account but it's totally worth it (in my opinion) bc of all the sales you can make at craft events. You can definitely add tax to your charges, I just don't when I do craft fairs typically. ❤

I did find out recently when getting my Square that if you purchase the Square chip reader you won’t have to key in the cards that have chips. The swipe one will usually be blocked by the bank for swiping a chip card. Just an FYI. I got both the free and purchased the chip one.

That’s a canopy not a tent. Not trying to be critical but just don’t want new vendors to be confused or buy the wrong thing.
