SFO has made the terminals quiet zones where you won't hear overhead music or announcements for gates on the other side of the concourse. They also have mood lighting which makes the terminals feel more like hotel lobbies instead of Walmarts.
The F terminal needs it, especially the area they are working. Those are probably the oldest gates in the airport. I flew into SFO a few weeks ago as its my home airport. I got to walk the temporary walkway and there's some good views of the planes lined up at the G gates. I will miss the bouncy moving walkway. Looking forward to seeing the improvements!
My ex once worked in the Noise Abatement Department of SFO in the 1980s. The department set up microphones in the neighboring communities to track and report aircraft noise as they take off.
There are two features of SFO that I especially appreciate: [1] The restaurants in the airport are all locally run and operated. You're not going to find the national junk food chains there. [2] SFO is the only airport in the world that is credentialed as a museum. The SFO Museum has a large combination of permanent and rotating exhibitions, with a staff of curators working full-time.
Dont forget the moment you walk into the terminal especially at courtyard A where all the international flights are, there are homeless people inside and out and they do steal your luggage’s too if you’re not paying attention even more worst if you’re in terminal 1-2 domestic at the ground floor. Just y’all know to anyone who does not notice or never been to SF.
Nice overview however, what’s missing is the most important upgrade that SFO refuses to do - new, safe, expanded, runways for all weather take off and departures. Negligence on part of SFO. All this remodel will do is make nicer place for people to sit and wait for their delayed flights due to the clouds over SFO. That is the main upgrade needed.
@@xraymind Well aware as I was actively advocating for new runways in the late 90's ,early 2000s. It will take the Federal Government stepping in to force them to do it. I love SFO, however, until then (new runways) we will continue to have a major safety risk and continued delays.
Its San Francisco. It will take decades to start and finish up any civil engineering project and when done, the cost over runs will be unpalatable. You want to see mind blowing airport? go to Singapore, Japan, Bangkok, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, China, etc. Look at that totally new, huge, modern international airport they are building in the Philippines! When done, it will handle over 100 million passengers, it will be bigger than New York's JFK, Dubai's, and Beijing international airport.
Is it worth spending $5 billions on these improvements of the SFO?
r call SF garbageville due to tents and homeless.
yes
The T3 costing so much is weird, but better than lax spending 3b.
@@mikeanderson9266 The question is about the San Francisco airport, not the city.

Thats nice👍
So smart... Thinking abut a quite low stress environment. Well done SFO.
Indeed!
SFO is closer to Hawaii than LAX!
I came here to say the same thing!

👍👍
I laughed so hard at "The place is so comfortable you'd wish your flight was delayed."
😂😂😂

Good points!
You should have seen SFO in the 1990’s. It was great!
I wish yes😊

Tbh I see so much room for expansion if SFO needs it.
😁👍
Access to Uber/lift should be closer to many arrival gates.

Hi and thanks👍
It's not that SFO doesn't want to expand their runways, it was the environmentalists filing lawsuits every time SFO trying to do it.

It needs more walkalator between terminals.
What will the upgrades look like? Not really discussed.
Actually San Francisco is closer to Hawaii than Los Angeles
Huh?
@@Kevindevin7 Rafi is correct. SFO is slightly closer to Hawaii than LAX is.
🙌
@@fixpacifica how? LAX is 350 miles and an hour flight away. When Hawaii is literally a 5.5 hour flight and 2,350 miles away.
@@RafiCamacho I think your sentence structure might be off here, which is causing my confusion.

Agree👍
Don’t forget SFO is a motel for homeless people.
The logic in this video is ridiculous

My 10 year call SF garbageville due to tents and homeless.
You already sad this. What is the point? You own LAX? Why are you dizzying on SFO?
😳
😳
SF is garbageville. You got that right. 😆👍🏻
While all the bums crap in the streets outside of the airport.
:(
Clearly you haven’t been to sfo.
At least they aren’t crapping inside the airport.
The fact that sfo is clean and farther out from the city yet ur afk lax born ass wants to argue.
obviously never been there
