I see these ads on various vids, and they're inspirational, but how TH-cam works I can't reverse the ads to get more details and inspiration; when I do click on the ads' links, it brings me to a different video. I started my education in computer science, but negative influences persuaded me to pursue something else (environmental science). Not to knock environmental science, but it's definitely a competitive field (given the relatively low pay and high interest) . I'm not going to go into details but follow your heart. Yes, that sounds cliche, but after college, it matters more than you think. Given the market and the increasing wage gap, unless you're lucky, motivation is what fuels the future.
The question is can everyone do programming? Learning the syntax is one thing but to actually problem solve is another. I find that not everyone has the aptitude to be a programmer.
I don't think your opinion and a/A's opinions differ too much. They do have a very intensive application process. I had two web tests, and three Skype coding interviews before Kush accepted me into the program. at the time of my attendence, a/A's acceptance rate was under 5%. A large portion of my cohort were from Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics college backgrounds. They really do pick folks who have the 'ability' to solve problems, or at least that's how I saw it.
Am Vendettafiq from KAMPALA UG am Smart 🤓 enough to take my dream of software engineering and technology but the bad thing is am a poor boy. I can't even afford fees. Need help bro and sis.🙏
Any advice for beginner programmers on what to get proficient at before applying?
I’m currently studying up for the web tests- very excited and nervous, mostly motivated. I am going to do my best to get accepted!
Good luck!

I then find there's a video titled "Anyone can be a software engineer". I take back everything.
Lol
