Lowest Recruitment in Two Decades:
The IT sector experienced its lowest fresher recruitment in 2024, hiring only around 80,000 candidates, compared to around 6 lakh in 2022 and 3 lakh in 2023.
Impact on Graduates:
Even graduates from prestigious colleges and universities, despite spending 20-25 lakh on their education, are facing difficulties in securing jobs.
Contributing Factors:
Wars and Geo-Political Tensions: Global instability has led to cautious hiring practices in the IT sector.
Generative AI: The rise of generative AI and automation technologies has reduced the need for large-scale human recruitment.
Big Names Missing from Campus Recruitments:
Major IT companies have significantly reduced their presence in campus recruitment drives, leading to fewer job opportunities for fresh graduates, especially from Tier 2 colleges.
Tier 2 Colleges at a Loss:
Students from Tier 2 colleges are disproportionately affected by the recruitment slump, as these institutions rely heavily on campus placements for student employment.
Employability Concerns:
There is a significant gap in employable skills among fresh graduates, which makes it challenging for companies to hire them without additional training.
Lack of Support for IT Companies in Tier 2 and Tier 3 Cities:
The insufficient support from the government for IT operations in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities limits the expansion and job creation potential in these regions.
Need for Curriculum Overhaul:
The college syllabus needs to be updated to reflect current industry trends and demands, ensuring that graduates possess the necessary skills to be employable.
Positive Outlook for FY25:
Despite the current challenges, there is optimism for fresher hiring in FY25. Companies like TCS have already started recruiting from colleges, and Wipro and Infosys are expected to follow suit.

As per my knowledge, many Data Scientists are struggling to implement efficient alogrithms for client due to lack knowledge in Statistics. So, try to learn technologies related to Data Science and build up your profile, which could be suitable for IT. Later, you can apply for jobs.
I don't know you are working for which kind of firm in NBFC. However, if it is Stock market related then based on your interest, you could do some financial certifications and build up your career in that area as well.

Hi sir, my brother wants to study CES Cyber security in Amrita University. It cost 20L for a 4 years fee. He is taking an educational loan. Is it worthy. There annual income is 3L per annum. He got 90 percentile in JEE. Could you please help me on it sir. I believe on your suggestions.
As he got a good percentile in JEE, try to get into any NITs, instead of spending 20 L on a private university, I think it is better to join a reputed govt University. Moreover we cannot say the demand will be as high as now in future too because of penetration of GEN AI in every field.
But if they can afford that much money and can sustain, then tell them to proceed.

Hi Sir, I have total 6.5 years of experience into SAP FI+ DRC. I switched 5 companies including current company. Currently I’m working with EY GDS as Tax Senior and I have joined in Aug 2023. My package is 14.5 LPA and also here no projects since from Joining. My skills are into DRC Document reporting and compliance. Recently I have got offer from CTS(Cognizant) for DRC position they offering 24LPA+ 1 lakh Joining bonus. Still I’m in dilemma to take a final decision because of CTS policies. Can you please suggest me or guide me.

2nd company: 27 months
3rd company: 4 months
4th company: 17 months
5th company : near to 1 year
Iam from Cognizant. For senior Associate-Projects there are projects in SAP. Go for it .

In any healthcare based company in US, IT department plays a crucial role. Currently, they are looking for AI specialists & Cybersecurity specialists. For freshers and other IT technical people, the openinings are very less in this year.
If you want to apply directly from India, then its very difficult to get a job in US based companies.
