Looks like an amazing bike! I'm still rocking and rolling on my 1st gen GSD s10. I love (almost) everything about this bike. (A lot of the things I don't like about it have been fixed in the newer models, but we can't justify upgrading.)
We moved from California to England last summer. We didn't move our car, but we did move the GSD, and I'm SO glad we did. It turned what would be a hour plus bus commute with a mile walk each way, to a mostly pleasant 15-20 minute cycle trip. All we needed to be able to use the GSD here was the bit of the power cord that went from the wall into the brick part of the charger, and that relatively easy to find online. We also ended up getting the Captains Chair and the Sidekick Joyride bars. Happy kid, happy momma.
I still can't justify a new expensive bike, but I do really like that they (finally) got smart about the placement of the charging port. That would make things SO much easier!

Wonderful review! I will say it would be great if Bosch miraculously (/s) allows multiple bikes to sync to the Flow App. It's pretty ridiculous that the Flow App + phone can only pair on 1 bike. Horrible for bike sharing and for users with multiple Smart System bikes.

I love that charging port. Like many people who use e-bikes, I can't move around so easy so having that plug where it would be easy to get at is great. At the same time, I wince when I look at the face the sky placement. I really wish that could have been faced down.

Even just on the side near the top probably would've been good. As long as it was somewhere near the top where it was easier to reach and to see what you're doing.

That was very interesting thank you. I am in Europe and something I'd love to see is weights given in kilograms as well as pounds. You could include this as a graphic on screen perhaps. I know that you had a table with kgs as well as lbs but earlier when you were talking it was just lbs. I suspect a lot of your viewers are using kgs, but I don't know this of course.

Looks sweet. Such a pity they don't have a class 3 with the IGH, though. :/ I have an unlocked Evelo I use as a Class 3 with the IGH Eviolo hub and a Dapu mid and it's so nice to not have to lube the chain ever that I don't think I could go back. At the same time, there are still enough parts of Seattle that kick you on to 25 mph streets randomly that idk if I could go back to a Class 2 for my only bike. Any word on the Vektron and whether we might get an IGH version? I could be convinced to go class 2 if it were folding...

Very slick connecting to the phone. Still, I would prefer a separate big screen so I can keep my phone for tunes, phone calls and navigating. That's just my personal preference though. What do I know? I still want my phone to have a slide out keyboard. Sigh.

Does the PP 725 fit? I understand it should, but would love to know.
The only class 3 IGH I know of is R&M and I'm guessing it's because of the suspension and pulley system they use to modulate the load in the belt... but I don't really know. I now have a Load4 75 (UA was stolen 😢) but didn't get the class 3 model

Bosch 100% does class 3 with internal gear hub. Wife has a riese and muller charger 4 with enviolo high speed. That is a smart system as well. They also do it with rholloff as well. The next smart system update will allow for enviolo high speed automatic to integrate as well as rholloff.
To be honest 20 inch wheels and class 3 is kinda a waste of money. 27 inch wheels make way more sense for class 3.

      @letsgoOs1002 ปีที่แล้ว

@@BikeShopGirl just purely my opinion but Bosch probably found it isn't worth the extra cost to get internal gear hub and class 3 with 20 inch wheels. Like cargo bikes with class 1 will never have to deal with any new regulations in USA add in 20 inch wheels and so rarely going over 20 unless downhill. Like why pay for it.

    • @BikeShopGirl

@@letsgoOs1002 I would speculate that there are more 20” rear wheel Bosch equipped bikes than 27.5” in the US.

I notice the bike has two pipes between motor and handlebars. That would be a great place to have a second battery mount point. I would like my bike to have two big batteries so I could have more range. I currently have about 30 miles of range. If that could go up to 50 or 100, that would be marvelous. Just a suggestion, perhaps for the gen 3?

Thanks for these amazing videos, BSG! Would love to know what permanent/semi perm pannier you would recommend for my new Tern HSD P10? I love your recommendation to get the biggest bag out there and then put my other bags into it (Love those IKEA blue bags!). I was thinking one pannier could be left on the bike, and then the other side could have an ORTLIEB VARIO or similar backpack/pannier type of bag for my computer, equipment, that I would take with me... Any favorites? To complicate things, ideally my friend could sit on the back with the sidekick pad and handlebars...and therefore which foot pegs would you recommend that wouldn't affect the panniers? In addition, I was really hoping for an option where my 11 pound dog could occasionally fit in a front system: bag, basket, crate? I was thinking a removable front system, so that it's still easy to load the bike into a car without a huge front rack in the way. Absolutely love your reviews and videos and watch them over and over 🙂 Thank you and keep 'em coming!

    • @BikeShopGirl

Congratulations on the new bike! Which color did you get?!
The HSD footrest are accessible if you have the cargo hold 37 or 28 panniers folded up. I’m not sure if you can reach them with ortlieb style.
As for panniers… cargo hold 37 were designed for the bike, the catch is that they come in pairs which may not be ideal for you.
Cargo Hold 28 are sold individually which may benefit you, though they are a bit smaller!
In general, I’m still a big fan of using my normal bag and putting into more permanent/sturdy fit panniers but Ortlieb make amazing bags. I’ve also been looking at two wheel gear but haven’t seen any in person.

@@BikeShopGirl Thanks for your comments! I got the orange one, OF COURSE! For some reason with the 37s attached in the store, it seemed to cover up the mounts for the footrests, but maybe we just need to readjust the 37s back more. TwoWheelGear looks amazing too! I just got a beautiful regular backpack from PeakDesign which I could throw inside the 37s...my concern about the semi permanents is leaving stuff (not super valuable) inside them while the bike is unattended. Do you think the new alarm system on the Smart System is enough of a deterrent if someone tries to mess with the pannier? I'm also opting for the transporteur rack with a quick release so that I can take the dog in a crate on occasion. Going through your videos one by one...
