I was 31 when that song came out in 1990. It is one on my favorite Nirvana songs along with Pay to Play and Territorial Pissings.

I don't know much about drums, but good lord that is a deep snare drum in the picture!! Right?What is it?
Probably a rack tom converted to a snare which was a common trick in the nineties for bands to do to get a deep snare sound.
