- Act I. During her wedding to the American lieutenant Pinkerton (Daniel Johansson), Butterfly (Asmik Grigorian) is cursed by her uncle - a Bonze - and cast out forever. She hopes that Pinkerton loves her enough to stay with her. Butterfly and Pinkerton seek comfort in each others’ embrace. Conducted by Lawrence Renes and directed by Kirsten Harms.

That's right, Svetlana. I hope you appreciate the excellent sound capture. We encourage our partner opera houses to use such radio mics. I hope you didn't think it was for amplification - not here!
@@OperaVision I am not a great fan of the head mics. I am fully aware that that is how things are done in this day and age but it is a completely different sound to what one hears in the auditorium. The voices are too "present" and completely miss the overtones and sound waves that fill the space of a theater.

Her singing is wonderful. A remarkably beatutiful voice and good technique. The tenor has a beautiful voice too. And they look their part, which is pleasant to watch. But I don't like the setting and the sexual appeal. Unnecessary and somewhat vulgar.
Yes.. I Don t understand why everything has to change! Becouse the world is changing?? But the Music is the same, the story is the same..GOD is the same. We are listening the same Music and I'm here for the Music of Puccini!! And the story.. I like that traditional clothes, the traditional purity.. I had the chance to meet Simonetta Puccini and she was upset at that time for a LA Boheme production who was very modern and..With wonderful interprets,yes, but with a very tattooed Mimi 😏I don't like this times in real art.. And real Music..
Me imagino que influye los destinatarios a lo mejor al espectador sueco, le parece atractivo así. A mi no me gusta para nada , me quedo con la gran interpretación de Asmik, que a mi juicio es mejor su versión de Madame Butterfly que hizo en 2015 en la ópera de Roma con Angelo Villari.

Well, the scene is all about Pinkerton - who has no intention whatever of remaining Butterfly's husband, he actually says this to the consul - "being gentle" with his 15 year old acquisition on their wedding night: the music at 4.00 onwards recapitulates the music of her entrance, she Happy as Larry thinking she is marrying the love of her life whilst her attendants warn her to look around at what she is giving up....the arrangement is about sex for Pinkerton with a young woman even he thinks is at an age more for playing with toys than being the concubine of a much older man.

Oh PUlease!! A woman in a bra????? You can see more flesh at the beach!! Porn?! Hardly! It’s relevant to the story. She didn’t “adopt” a baby for the other acts! You’re upset because she’s young and has a good body!!
