    If you want to crank it up and rock out, AC/DC always always delivers! No rock band is more consistent in their catalogue from beginning to end. That makes them unique. They always set the volume knob to eleven!

      @carlgibbons5777 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unique? AC/DC are a great rock band especially for cranking the fuc* out of a stereo, but they were consistent because they played it safe and very little experimentation or creativity from record to record. Almost all their records sound the same. They have been criticized plenty for that. Now a band like Rush NEVER played it safe, sound changes on every record, and their last record is one of their best. That is the definition of unique. Rush has the most consistent catalog in my book.

      @@carlgibbons5777 I guess you just proved my point. They were unique in that they never varied and maintained a certain identity for good straight ahead hard rock and that is OK! That was their unique niche. If you want experimentation go for something else like Rush which I like also.

    I had full body chills watching / hearing this throughout the whole song. The ability of AC/DC to continuously create fun and nasty songs is amazing. Honestly legends doesn't do them justice. Mount Rushmore of rock status for sure. Best up tempo band ever? Best Australian band ever! I just love the Bon Scott years, love them all but he had something special. You can hear him smiling that devilish grin during the songs! Most consistent rockers of all-time - FUN FUN FUN

    Bon has the quintessential rock voice in my opinion. Like an alley cat screeching at the moon. I could listen to him sing all day.

    Dude, you need to see ACDC live back in the day with Bon and Angus Young. Angus has knocked out his own teeth while playing. It's quite a show. Remember any performance before 1980 is Bon Scott..... I suggest Whole Lotta Rosie..... two awesome solos.

      Beating Around the Bush has one of my favorite riffs of all time, and it feels so good to play on a Gibson guitar through a full Marshall stack, which I've had the luxury of doing a few times.
      But I like every song on this album. I used to play this record over and over until I almost wore the vinyl out. And I was in high school on this tour and I went to see them. Cheap Trick was the headliner To this day it's one of the most incredible shows I've ever seen in terms of just rocking so hard. Angus did a 20-minute solo while this dude carried him on his shoulders up and down every set of steps in the small arena. I even got some of his sweat in my eyes when he went right by me down the steps, he was flinging his head around and it flung sweat in my eyes, laugh. I got a good look at how beat up his guitar was too. Fantastic show.
      Bon Scott died not too long after that.

      @@viclagina347 that's funny, when it was playing I was thinking, this is a great headbanger song.

    Bon Scott did it all on this album. He really came into his own and it’s bittersweet that it was his last. Some of it sounds so damn malevolent shoo!

    Saw them open for Aerosmith in 1979. Did not really know of them, and they were astounding. Blew Aerosmith away...

      @stevedahlberg8680 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I saw them probably that same year, it was the Highway to Hell tour and this was in Wichita and in that case the headliner was Cheap Trick and while I love Rick Nielsen and Cheap Trick is a great band, ACDC just fucking blew them out of the smaller arena this was at. It was insanely great.

    Man, I haven't heard that one in so long and I cranked the headphones up and it sounded so damn good. It always felt to me like that slow intro is like this car just kind of revving the engine. getting ready to go, and then when they hit it they hit it hard and it just goes. And then in the chorus is it's like you take your foot off the gas and coast for a little bit,take a little breath, and then boom, push the pedal to the floor and it's back off to the races, laugh. It just kicks.
    And it's funny you mentioned a feline cat in conjunction with Bon Scott. In his stage persona he kind of goes through these different personalities of like tough guy and then kind of humorous overacting, and then a mix of the two and it kind of turns into almost a dangerous feline cat kind of thing. He had so much charisma.

    'Powerage' is THE album to listen to in the Bon Scott era. The album has Angus' best guitar tone. It also contains Joe Perry's [Aerosmith guitarist] favourite AC/DC song, Riff Raff.[which is relentless.] Also Eddie Van Halen's favourite AC/DC song, Down Payment Blues. And my favourite, Kicked in the Teeth.

    Ya know, "Touch too much" might've actually been the first AC/DC song I ever heard without knowing them from my brother playing GTA IV/San Andreas/Liberty city (I can't remember or distinguish them from each other) before choosing to listen to them my self, huh, funny that.

    Ned from Spain here to say hey Young Mr Silas. AC/DC are always incredible and for me this line up is the one I love most. The thing for me as a drummer is listening to how Angus' guitar playing is so aggressive and sure but so tasty. He's always slightly ahead of the rest of the band, which gives the tunes like an adrenaline rush. Got to give serious kudos to his bro Malcolm on rhythm guitar as well as Phil on drums, Cliff on bass and the master of mayhem, vox shredder Bon Scott

    You really ought to work your way backwards through their 70's albums if you're enjoying these songs so much. Powerage, Let There Be Rock, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap and TNT (High Voltage). The foundations that made them the band they became.
