Can't believe how old the comments are. I still watch this before going to the gym. Near perfection. 6 lifts completed and WR broken. I think the dude was like 20 years old!!
I want to cry when i see this... this are hours, weeks, months and years of constant training unimaginable to 99% of population summarized into 4 minutes. Pain, blood, sweat, pulled muscles and broken bones awarded with Olympic Gold.
Notice his second snatch. His speed at getting under the bar is terrifying. Aramnau is this soft looking kid with the face of a 10 yr old, yet his strength goes beyond what most people could even dream of having. The power he generates is almost not human.
Once I learned about Olympic Weightlifting, I became totally uninterested in convential bodybuilding. This to me is so much more impressive than a nice set of pecs or calves. Plus these guys can run and jump their asses off (with exception of huge guys like Reza). It's really an art form as well.
Just beautiful, every time I think I'm getting pretty strong and powerful I watch this and get a better perspective of true explosive, controlled power. Andrei's taking my deadlift max and throwing it over his head lol people who have never oly lifted have no idea how impressive this really is. CRAZY POWER.
Who is Ilya Ilin? This young guy (Aramnau) is definately in a league of his own. Aramnau is destined for greatness, no two ways about it. He has the potentail to become only the fourth weightlifter to win three consecutive olympic gold. He is the best lifter in the -105kg class since Timor Taemazov
Flawless technique, phenomenal strength and incredible speed. This young man doesn't lift the weights, he bullies them - even at new world record weights, the bar and those plates are left in no doubt who's the 'Boss'.
He generates so much power in the clean, that it is almost impossible for him to bring the bar to rest quickly at the top of the movement. When was the last time you saw a clean & jerk world record attempt in any bodyweight class, where the lifter had the bar flying 6 to 8 inches past his collar bone at the top of the clean! Phenomenal power for a 20 year old. The only person i have seen in this bodyweight class that may approach the 40 odd world record performances of the great Zackharevich.
3:54 when he completes the clean and the bar flies up above his chest about another 5 inches before resting on his shoulders in prep for the jerk is the definition of power!
@epaluoma, when he starts jerking the bar is not oscillate. When he squats down under the bar a little bit faster than it falls and then he meets it, holds that position until the bar starts rising and pushes it further.
Thanks for the information. I didn't quite follow all the weightlifting during Beijing, but thanks for letting me know about Ilya Ilin. When I think of great weightlifters I of Naim Suleymanoglu (Turkey), Piros Dimas (Greece), Akakiios Kakishvali (Georgia, Russia) and Halil Mutlu (Turkey)
Anyone remember the great Bulgarian lifter Valentin Christov? Aramnau reminds me of him. I think Christov was a 110 kg. (242 lbs.), won a championship or two. Very calm, cool, collected, speed and power to burn.
@WishyLH No criticism here, just jaw dropping amazement. His technique looks very solid. This was for Olympic Gold in 2008 in Bejing, correct? I coach a high school Powerlifting team in Canada. Two of our boys competed at the 2011 IPF World Junior Powerlifting Championships after winning Gold at Canadian Nationals.
@@patrikmorelius7998Not the lightest but the youngest for sure. 200 kg snatch in the biggest weightlifting stage, the Olympics, as a teenager is simply phenomenal (was only 20 years old).
Terrifying is the word. Just so fast under it defies physics. Just watch how on the slowed 200, he still manages to snap out the feet. Ther was alot more in this man.
I've been watching clips of Dimitry Klokov of Russia thinking he was unbeatable which led me to this video. This is amazing to watch. Will Andrei and Dimitry face off in London?
Aramnau is definately a quality lifter but he will have to emulate the feats of Suleymanoglu (Turkey), Dimas (Greece), Kackishvalli (George) and Mutlu (Turkey) and win three consecutive Olympic gold medals in weightlifting if he is to ever be considered truelly great.
Truly great performance, but he has still some way to go before he matches Yuri Zakharevich who as a 19 year old junior in the 100kg class snatched 200kg and c&j 240kg for aq record breaking 440kg total.
@edge9090 Andrei Aramnau received like a 4 year ban for driving drunk and being high aswell at the same time, many people believe it was a scam, so that Aramnau would be able to train with steroids and hormones without having to worry about tests, he has also moved on to a new weight class, the 105+, seeing as he is only 23 now, he still has his best years to come, I believe that he will destroy the 2016 Olympics.
@BaumerPaulGefreiter They are clearly all good lifts. If you're strong enough to kick the barbell off your shoulders after a clean, use the oscillation. If you get white lights it's good. And no he doesn't always do it; see the 225kg C&J @ 2007 WWC.
If you think this was "easy" for him you're an idiot. Yes, the best make it look easy because it happens so fast, but watch the video again and take a look at his face when he's standing up with 200kg locked out overhead and then try and tell me it was "too easy". There is nothing "easy" about what these incredible athletes do, steroids or no.
@Mrsirflexalotta A succesful clean and jerk requires that the barbell is brought to a complete standstill between the clean and the jerk when it rests on the weightlifter's shoulders. There shouldn't be any motion of the barbell...
He did... It was just a very short still moment. He does it perfectly, in a way that's legal. He doesn't have to wait to make the critics accept that a stillness is... Waiting too long wastes strength.

he lifts sooooo beautifully, that's what makes me want to cry lol... seemingly effortless.
Никогда не вводите санкции против русских.
And he just made a great come back this year to win silver at 2019 EWC!! Big congrats to him!
Silver at worlds!
Notice his second snatch. His speed at getting under the bar is terrifying.

this will forever remain my must watch video before the lifts
poetry in motion. flawless. no wasted effort.
wow... I have always said: he is a poet of weightlifting. so happy to see someone else saying/understanding that!!!
Best modern weightlifter IMO
Him and Ilya Ilin are in a league of their own.
absolutely flawless. I would say that might have been the best lifting i have ever seen. just amazing!
I am in tears after watching this. This is simply perfection..
I just noticed that too. Andrei jerks on the third whip bounce. Very smart to use that energy.
Once I learned about Olympic Weightlifting, I became totally uninterested in convential bodybuilding. This to me is so much more impressive than a nice set of pecs or calves. Plus these guys can run and jump their asses off (with exception of huge guys like Reza). It's really an art form as well.
I wouldn’t be so quick to say that. Shane Hammon could do a back flip and dunk a basketball.
Fenomenalny występ! Piękna walka w pięknym stylu! Pozdo z Polski!
Awesome lifting from such a fine young athlete. I do believe that pound for pound Aramnau is No.1 right now. Cheers TH-cam bejjeagle :)

Amazing. He's lifting weights many super heavies can't move!
still inspires me even after 2 years!
How about now?
GREAT VIDEO OF ONE OF THE BEST OF ALL TIME Greetings from PERU Pisco
EXELENTE VIDEO DE UNO DE LOS MEJORES DE TODOS LOS TIEMPOS.
Aramnau should join the X-Men. He's a MUTANT!
hahaha yes
amazing! and the music is just perfect with the video
such a beautiful technique
могучий чувак!

Your music videos are awesome, please make more, and not only with the gold medalists!
Andrei is unbelievable great lifter
It is from the gladiator soundtrack.. i forget its actual name. it might be Elysium
take that back i looked it up and HE'S RANKED #5 IN THE WORLD IN ALL CLASSES, THIS GUY ISN'T HUMAN, HE'S A GOD!!!!!!!
love it hahaha
I have so much respect for olympic weightlifters
and the way he goes after it! he wastes no time. just boom boom! done what? "yeah i know im a badass" My new favorite Oly lifter.
Белоруски брат Андреј.Привет из Македонија.
3:09 look at his expression. so calm. you knew he was going to do it.
he ranks top 20 in all classes, this guy is a monster.
3:54 when he completes the clean and the bar flies up above his chest about another 5 inches before resting on his shoulders in prep for the jerk is the definition of power!
2023
Boy I just wished he never got set back the way he did. But I am glad he is back now and still a beast.

feeling proud for my country!) amazing athlete!
Wow 10 years ago
This is the guy who beat the popular Dmitriy Klokov, a man known for performing crazy lifts like a 200 kg Pause Snatch.
Anyone remember the great Bulgarian lifter Valentin Christov? Aramnau reminds me of him. I think Christov was a 110 kg. (242 lbs.), won a championship or two. Very calm, cool, collected, speed and power to burn.

Будь счастлив, брат. Я вывихнул плечо, и даже 100 кг в рывке после операции, не даются мне без сильной боли
Inhuman strength and perfect technique
The greatest weightlifting feat of all time. No doubt the lightest man to snatch 200 kg.
No Nicu Vlad did 200.5 in 100 kg class in 1986
@@patrikmorelius7998Not the lightest but the youngest for sure. 200 kg snatch in the biggest weightlifting stage, the Olympics, as a teenager is simply phenomenal (was only 20 years old).

PERFET TECHNICHE .......
Is this sport great or what. Nicely done and also put to favorites.
Hopefully these four will lift in the 105's in Rio! We can only hope...
he is realy awesome with a realy good technik ...how is the weight of this lifter ?
Godlike.
IMO Ilya Ilin wasn't as dominating in his category compared to Andrei.
Jaber Salem (Yanni Marchokov), Pisarenko.. I could go on...
i hate that hes the best 105 lifter in the world but yet he looks the weakest out of them all.
But crazy respect for him!
The winner of the 94kg weightclass.
I've been watching clips of Dimitry Klokov of Russia thinking he was unbeatable which led me to this video. This is amazing to watch. Will Andrei and Dimitry face off in London?
Жаль что он не выступил в Лондоне 2012! Стал бы двукратным олимпийским чемпионом! Жаль, очень жаль...
6 for 6 at the Olympics. That is impressive.
amazing nice control
I believe Nicu Vlad also snatched 200kg @ 100kg bodyweight.
It just means they are good. Probably the reason they are olympic champions.
Yeah definitely. Chigishev though is light for his snatches but Aramnau is still lighter haha
now he is the best
Now we are free sung by Lisa gerrard.
he makes 441 snatch and 520 clean and jerk look like child's play !
Truly great performance, but he has still some way to go before he matches Yuri Zakharevich who as a 19 year old junior in the 100kg class snatched 200kg and c&j 240kg for aq record breaking 440kg total.
it does, the bounce from the clean doesn't qualify as a jerk
he is real fast for his category!!!!!!
This guy has a chance at winning 2 more OG GOLD INSANE!
@edge9090 Andrei Aramnau received like a 4 year ban for driving drunk and being high aswell at the same time, many people believe it was a scam, so that Aramnau would be able to train with steroids and hormones without having to worry about tests, he has also moved on to a new weight class, the 105+, seeing as he is only 23 now, he still has his best years to come, I believe that he will destroy the 2016 Olympics.
he is a lot bigger than this video gives him credit for. actually he is enormous and very muscular, he is just not as lean as the russians.
I saw him in person, my first thought was: wow his head is so big.... I couldn't get over it. Later i got used to it and then it seemed fine😄
Really? I wasn't aware of that. But I"m sure you're right. I mean they generate so much damn power.
@BaumerPaulGefreiter They are clearly all good lifts. If you're strong enough to kick the barbell off your shoulders after a clean, use the oscillation. If you get white lights it's good. And no he doesn't always do it; see the 225kg C&J @ 2007 WWC.
Oops, sorry. I fucked up with my facts. Aramnau has the potentail to become only the fifth (not fourth) lifter to win three consecutive Olympic golds.
So powerful. I wonder what his max squat must be O_O
I wonder how good he would be if he would bulk up (let's say 3 or 40 kg) and compete in the superheavies.
Fuck sake, what a machine!
It seems easier for him than eating a burger for me :-O
dobry byk :D
good lord
thats 16kg off from the WR snatch of all time and this dude isnt even in the 105+
He could win over the most of 105+ guys
If you think this was "easy" for him you're an idiot. excellent video!!!!nice work!xD
tru stroy bro, so true
Like Alexander Kurlovich...
I really hope so!
Missed this guy in London 2012 Olympic Games
Notice the bouncy momentum before he jerks the bar. Is that legal?
@Mrsirflexalotta A succesful clean and jerk requires that the barbell is brought to a complete standstill between the clean and the jerk when it rests on the weightlifter's shoulders. There shouldn't be any motion of the barbell...

this guy oscillates the bar too much. against the rules
Alguno sabe como es en nombre de la canción ????? O quien la canta???? Aaaa y muy buen video
Man Aramnau is just like a fucking gladiator. Music could not fit the video any better!

is he a 94kg lifter or 105 or 105+?
And he is coming back in Tokio
@khonfosh He couldn't compete at the 2011 worlds, commentator said he was caught using (idk what). Can you enlighten me with some info? Thx
Honestly I was expecting "Lifting Experts" in the comments to criticize how bad his form is...
Just an unbelievable makeup for weightlifting. One in a billion genetics.
