This is from his album FACE and the songs all have a connection to what he was watching, thinking feeling in Covid in some form and each track is very different. This one was inspired write this track by the film he watched over and over again in Covid called Like Crazy which is about a long distance relationship that is failing. You never know what you are going to get with Jimin. This is totally different from Set me Free Part 2. That was clay mud on the floor running down the walls and on his hand.
It was MUDD. JIMIN wrote the lyrics and melodies, and was involved in the production of all the songs on his album. This is his first album, and he wrote it himself. I'm just saying that Jimin worked with his own Production team (PDOGG, GHSTLOOP, and EVAN), who call themselves Smeraldo Garden Marching Band. And he spent many months with them basically on a song camp, working on his album. He put his heart and soul into all of his songs.
Have you reacted to Taeyang’s song VIBE? He collaborated with Jimin. It’s his first song in five years. Also, his first song on Teddy’s label The Black Label. Jimin admires Taeyang so it was a dream come true. There is a MV and A live version with instruments in Tae’s den--it looks like. Lol. Jimin also sang on the ost for fast furious X. Song is Angel Pt 1. He is with Jvke, Muni Long, NLE Choppa and Kodak Black
There IS NO ‘out of the box’ for Jimin! Jimin is extremely artistic and versatile; he does not like to be pigeonholed into one style/genre of music. All of his music is different from one song to the other. I don’t know why you’re putting so much emphasis on him being ‘so outside of the box’; he’s not…he simply prefers to try different those of music/sound. Jimin is Jimin - inside AND outside of the box. You have to understand him musically by going back to his other solo songs under BTS.
FACE is his attempt to deal with his feelings during the pandemic, during which he felt very isolated and really missed interacting with ARMY during concerts and fan meets. He hardly noticed, but he said he began trying to escape his loneliness by drinking excessively and trying to numb his emotions. Suga noticed and gently tried to pull him back by talking with and listening to him - Suga is the best listener and gives great advice based on his own private hell he went through and Jimin got himself back on track and used this experience as inspiration for this album, so yes, this song has darker themes and undertones. It is a no skip album for me.

It's might seem strange to you but most of ARMY do not really like Kpop in general we are BTS fans only many of us are lovers of different genre's of music.
