Antique Winged Handle #4 from H.D. Smith Co. est 1922. Here I do a full restoration of this beauty without destroying too much of its patina. Thanks for watching!
the handle scales , is that rosewood? i love the colour of it 😲😲and i love the way you didn't over-restore it, like almost every video i see these days -_-
Hey, good job. I love that you peened the pins instead of epoxying like pretty everyone else on youtube. After all, the original wasn''t epoxied. The ones I've done I also peened the brass pins. The part I find hard is fitting the new scales. You said C. D. Smith Co. I haven't heard of them. Did you mean H. D Smith?
@@DesignCo_two4 Agreed in full. It's your tool to do whatever you want. But I also agree with people having an opinion as long as they aren't trying to force it on you. I have done a perfect handle screwdriver restoration that I did an over the top job on with a mirror finish and peened pins. I decided to do the OTT resto because it was an unknown brand with no markings.
Nicely done. Good looking repair and upgrade.
So nice! I finished one my self. The wood is looks great! I used manzanita on mine. So much fun!
Very good 👍, very nice 👌
Excellent restoration! Are the wings on the side for leverage?
Yes, they are.
A well restored collectable.
Thank you!

Thank you! I think you're right about HD Smith. I was going off of what the person I bought it from said.
Why did you oil under the grips before installing them?
It is bare steel, so a coating of oil prevents rust
I would have preferred to see as much of the original patina on the metal as possible and I would have aged the new scales to match.
Not me. I love how this turned out. Feel free to restore things how you'd like, tho.
