Many great tips. Thanks. I have 2 minor suggestions. 1. On the miter saw, for the factory fence, there are holes in the top sections both left and right of the blade. You can put a piece of 1x4 or whatever and attach it with screws to that fence. Then pu your small pieces to cut against that for supported cut with zero clearance on the back. No sled needed. 2. For that double outlet, instead of mounting on the wall and running both cords from the cart to the wall, mount that double outlet to the cart and plug saw and vac to the outlet. Then only run ONE cord across to the wall outlet somewhere. Keep up the great content. These upgrade additions could make great Christmas gifts for a woodworker, contractor or handyman 😊
I noticed towards the end of your video when you were cutting your wood that at the end of your cut is when you lose wood chips. Great ideas and they should help lots of people.
In previous shop I had vacuum under bench with ductwork with blast gates going to miter saw and radial arm saw. I installed a switch on the face of the bench to turn vacuum on since vacuum switch was in the on position all the time. No fancy auto switch needed. Did I tell you I'm a cheapskate?
How long have you had that Bosch miter saw for? What’s your opinion? Stays tuned etc? My old favorite saw was the Bosch 4412 , that thing was amazing before it took a dive off a parapet😢
I bought two plans from you yesterday. I was wondering if you have a chart for me, standing at 6'-4" tall, that the top of the mitre saw cabinet would be ergonomic for me. If you are 6'-4", then forget this comment.
There is no backwards for the stick. Its whatever works to get the job done while keeping your fingers away from the blade technique. KISS. Keep it simple...
I have been using my $10M stick with 2 feet near blade and single foot away from blade since I got it. Occasionally flipping around the other way which seems wrong to me.
This video really helped me understand the proper way to use a miter saw. Thank you for sharing your expertise, Thomas! 💯
WOW... I didn't know the A/B switch existed. Ordered it at once. Much Thanks!

Love the San Francisco Giants hat. You might consider wearing it more while filming your videos.

Your miter saw is missing a cyclone separator before the vacuum. Once you get that you will be cool almost like me. 😂
Haha great tip!
Did you alter your Bosch to have the led light? Was it easy?
Why not mount the outlet to the mobile cart?
I have a Bosch 10" saw just like yours. It comes with a hold down arm. Where is yours?

Thanks for ordering my plans! I am 6’1” tall and it’s all about personal preference. I find that the heights work well for me.

I 3D Printed a zero-clearance throat place.
That’s awesome!
How can I get my hands on a THOMAS stick?!
You will be the first to know when it’s available.
the rubber feet fell out of my fastcap stick in only a few uses
