I saw your review on Pattern review and thought I would look at the video you linked. @8:05, I see so many reviews where the back is obviously too long with no attempt made to address this. Your adjustment has achieved a much better fit and removed the "blousing". With buttons, always put them where there is a tendancy to gape. This often means that they will not correspond with the pattern positions. Thank you for taking the time to make this video and showing us your perfectly fitted dress.
Hi, thank you for stopping by:) I think fixing the blousing at the back makes a big difference, and actually is such an easy and fast fix. The covered shank buttons need definitely lesser space in between to keep it all close :) I have more ordered so I will be able to "fix" my little issue. Actually, I never use the pattern recommendations for button placements. I am happy you enjoyed my video , thank you . Regards, Camelia xx
This is a beautiful pattern, I am wearing this dress often 😍 yes, with this changes, especially taking that length in the back made a big difference. I hope you will be happy with yours😊
Now this dress I love. So 1940/50s. I’m very tempted to try this pattern. My mother went to college for dress design and has one very similar in her project book. I wanted to do theatre costume design & construction, but was told I could only take academic subjects at school. I kind of wish I’d stood up to my tyrannical headmistress!! Lol
Lovely round up of this pattern. I have just ordered it and can’t wait to make it up. Thank you for taking the time to share.
I love this dress, I hope you will enjoy yours!
