We have two types of Fiesta, we have the religious festival and the secular one. Religious Festivals are those fiestas celebrated to honor a patron saint of a particular place, an example would be the infamous Sinulog Festival in Cebu, which is done to honor Sr. Sto. Niño. While Secular festivals are those celebrated to commemorate a significant event in the Phil. history, an example would be the Sandugo Festival in Bohol which is celebrated to commemorate the blood compact between Miguel Lopez de Legazpi, a Spaniard, and Datu Sikatuna, a native Boholano. Fiestas are not celebrated in Luzon, in general. In Pangasinan only one town celebrate it.however,in Visayas and Mindanao,its still festive. Its a celebration of the patron saint’s natal day in barrios,towns,cities and thanksgiving for graces received by triune God!

Given na mas traditional sa province compared sa NCR. Pero again, madaming provinces sa Luzon na nag ffiesta parin. 😅

Me and my friends would do "rounds" at each others houses first then ask our other barkadas which houses had good food lol PRO TIPs for CONVERSATION: 1) Ask them what theyre doing during fiesta, 2) Ask them how they made the food (this especially is a great topic convo) 3) of course, invite them back to your house if you also have handa or tell them were they can also find good food
Fiesta sa amin sa Pampanga at Zamboanga is a big thing, its huge well anticipated by me and friends coz we get to eat and drink, and each barangay has fiesta when its our barangay we have karaoke, inuman and foooods bunch of foods its really huge for us. For this I miss my province and friends.

I haven't been to a fiesta in years...anyway, Manglapus banned this Filipino practice when I was still in the elementary grades, I think. I did experience eating at random houses then...the house owner would feel bad if you did not accept their invitation to drop by, meaning, to taste the food prepared for such a practice...glad you and your friends had fun!

How about going to perya and play the color game and the other one? jk lol... Remember my days in the province of bicol wherein all you need is to walk and visit each house in the baranggay on you will be full for the whole day. I mean, traditionally here at the PH, they celebrate these fiesta along with celebrating local's saint, it's basically like manifesting good life and prosperity, they celebrate these saints in hopes that they continue to bless people and also thanking them for good life.
it differs in other counties,of course, but here when we say fiesta, it's about celebrating the saints or harvest for their blessings, thus people wants only positive energy and being kind to each other
