    • @Thousand5.6

      If it were all about TH-cam then you'd need around 25k Subs to get really going. It's taken me 2 years almost full-time to get to where I am. Most of my income comes through affiliate marketing and digital sales. I currently work across 3 channels, It's hard work but also very rewarding. When brands start sending you boxes and boxes of gear for review thats when you know it's starting to pay off. I highly recommend finding something you really enjoy and making videos about it. Don't think so much about the financial reward to begin with, just enjoy the journey and the people you meet along the way. Everything else will find you in time. Best of luck!

    What are the benefits of using 60 fps over lets say what I use 25 fps (Sweden, 24 isn't available here)? Doesn't that just create massive file sizes? Everyone says 24/25 fps is the best because thats what films are shot in and how the human eye perceives things. So why 60?

    • @Thousand5.6
      @Thousand5.6  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would suggest focussing on things that are interesting to you. Imagine you are watching the same video in 10 years time looking back on a place you once visited or lived. Try and capture things that will have a noticeable change in 10 years time. Cars, Transport, people, buildings. Also the camera you film on will be of interest to people in the future so list that. Find your own unique twist and vision but don't over think it. Sometimes you don't need a plan just go out press record and walk. Hope that was of some help.

    Hey, I started making videos doing just this with my new DJI Osmo Pocket 3 which I haven't edited and posted yet. (Got a lot of footage saved up to go through first) but I'm wondering if it would be too different of a format for my subscribers if I normally do travel vlogs if I also put these videos up, or is it better to have a new channel that ONLY does walking videos? I was wondering what your thoughts were on that. (I'm leaning towards putting it on my main channel because it IS travel related)
    Also, can you explain why you use the settings you do instead of using auto for exposure and stuff? I have always used auto and don't have ND filters and I think the footage looks great for me.
    One last question! Lol
    I use 30fps for everything because thats what i shoot my vlogs with so if I want to use some of my walking footage for b roll while doing a talking head portion, it'll match. Is it jarring to the viewer if it's in a different frameate, or when I export it, it'll bwcome either 30fps or 60fps depending on ny settings? (Hope this made sense, lmk if you need more clarification)

    I'd love to see an editing video! I'm editing my first walking tour video as we speak, lol.
    Any reason you prefer "follow" instead of "tilt lock" for the gimbal? And does manually choosing certain settings make a significant difference over the auto settings?

    • @Thousand5.6
      @Thousand5.6  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Manual settings with auto ISO is the perfect setup. This way you get the correct shutter speed with your frame rate. You'll most probably need to use ND filters if you shoot at 24p. I agree though that the default settings are pretty good also. Just if you want a more pro look that's when you start dialing in all the manual settings.

    Looks like a great way to make side money. What sources do you sell your footage to? I'm in the States in California.

    • @Thousand5.6
      @Thousand5.6  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It really is. I don't sell the footage as such. It stays on TH-cam and earns money through Google ads.

    Once you have all the settings set up can you save profiles on the pocket 3? I’m looking at getting one.

    I just shoot 4k/60 with auto settings, standard color. Turns out awesome. You start playing with shutter speed without nd filters, you may well end up with blown out footage and your day is wasted.

    This was a great video! But please don't turn your channel into nothing but How Tos. Keep up with the walking videos and show us all sorts of interesting sides to where you live. I'm working on my own new channel with walking tours of areas around Seattle and the Pacific Northwest!

      Hi, Sorry it wasn't clear enough. Walking tours are one of the quickest ways of getting monetized on TH-cam. The platform favours long form content due to the ads they distribute throughout. The ads are where people make there money and from multiple ads comes a quick passive income. I'm purely sharing the way you can get setup and out filming this type of content so you can too benefit from a side hustle. The camera pays for itself fairly quickly and filming on the pocket 3 means you don't have to carry around a big gimbal system. If you find a popular walking tour channel and put it's details into Social Blade i think you will be shocked how much cash these channels are making from essentially easy to obtain footage. It's a great way of using spare time. I'll make follow up videos as I progress but already I'm seeing impressive results. Hope that was of help. Let me know if you give it a shot. S
