The fire insurance for homes that are perched on top of California hills/mountains have fire insurance rates that are in the same cost of the mortgage of the house.

All the rich people who've sunk billions into hillside properties in the same area? I understand being jealous of we "angelenos", but at least update your references. Smog is a lot less of a problem now than it was years ago.
