Hajime no Ippo is for sure amazing and in the top of my favorite animangas of all time, don't get me wrong. But Ashita no Joe is just something else, it has that unmatched and pure old school vibe that i absolutely adore and love so much, Ashita no Joe is so good that even if it wasn't about boxing, i would still love it just for the very well-made slice of life and the old school vibe of the 70's japanese ghetto. Ippo is a boxer, Joe is a man, and he died a man, a proud, happy man, with a smile on his face. No amount of words can explain how this masterpiece from Tetsuya sensei changed my life, i'm eternally grateful for having known this work of art of a manga.

@@DangoWangochu ok, it's a very niche/old school top 10 but it's my personal favorites, and many of them are great influences of their genres : - Berserk (manga GOAT ; anime the Golden Age have amazing anime, but Post Eclipse arcs are all sh¡tty in the few anime adaptations we have) ; - Sun Ken Rock (no anime but fantastic manga) ; - Dragon Ball (both OG and Z obviously) (amazing manga and amazing anime, my childhood's manga) ; - One Piece (the only exception, i prefer the anime by far for a very simple reason : the laughs, how can you appreciate Doffy's demonic laugh in the manga?) ; - Ashita No Joe (i prefer the anime but the manga is legendary) ; - Hajime No Ippo (manga GOAT, anime GOAT, i hope we will have a season 4 cuz there is so much to animate) ; - The Climber (no anime yet, but GOAT manga) ; - Vagabond (no anime yet, but GOAT manga) ; - Hokuto No Ken (Fist of the North Star) (goofy anime but badass af and legendary manga) ; - Cowboy Bebop (i prefer the anime). And honorable mentions for AoT (i hate Attack On Titan's manga, i find the drawing ugly as hell, the anime is 100x better imo), Naruto (both good), Yu Yu Hakusho (both good), Hellsing (anime better) and Samurai Champloo (anime better for Nujabes's music). PS : I have no specific orders (in the top 10, Berserk and Ashita No Joe are above the rest but besides from that, it's more like a tierlist rather than a top).

One of the best anime ever watched in the beginning I didn't like joe but he had the best character development he started appreciating to all those who loved and cared about him , nowadays people only prefer watching anime like jjk ,chainsawman ,demon slayer ,my hero academia, one piece etc I'm not saying these anime are bad they are good but ashita no joe is the only anime which gave a good impact on my life.
