      @seanthiar 3 ปีที่แล้ว

@Sean Embry Tinnitus has different causes. THat there was no solution for you doesn't mean it's the same for others. For many people it's caused by stress and when you loose the stress you loose the tinnitus. Best thing against every form of tinnitus is a hearing aid that make sounds to neutralize the sound from the tinnitus.

Preventive maintenance is not needed.... if you accept stuff breaking down at the most inconvenient time.

    • @MFCSTUDIOS

    • @Rathmun

@@MFCSTUDIOS Not just the most inconvenient time charge, lots of replacement parts that wouldn't have needed to be replaced too. How long before that new valve fails for the same reason? How long before the trashed compressor fails entirely? I bet that adds up pretty quickly too.

Cool to see how that valve actually works. Kind of sad that that entire system is trashed like that. It should be in a lot better shape at this point. You know that defrost clock has been broken for months. They only called you when the cooling was basically zero.

1.) Packing loose on suction king valve leaking and causing oil spot.
2.) Go to a plumbing store and get pump up plugs. This way you can seal off other openings in a multi piped drain and blow out each line separate. Good explanation of the headmaster valve. Stay safe and be well.

Would a blockage somewhere after the head pressure control cause the head pressure control top to blow apart in 2 pieces on a condensing unit. A little background the whole system is only 3 years old and another local company came out and diagnosed the problem to be a leak and charged the unit adding 8lbs of R404a the next day the system stopped cooling I was called out and found the head pressure control top had split in half and the top had came off and went across the condenser and dented the tin on the other side. I am trying to figure out if I should replace the whole system replace the head pressure control or the condensing unit. I dont want to charge my customer for repair if there is a bigger problem and then they have to end up replacing the system.

Question, What do you use to track refrigerant usage? I am looking for an app to keep track of our refrigerant usage, I would like it to work with across with a couple employees so I would have a live view if they enter the info, Currently we use tags with jug #s they might turn in if they remember to fill it out at all. Our invoicing system keeps track of what we bill for but that is not practical.

Any tips on troubleshooting a headmaster valve that is not bypassing? I had a walk in freezer a couple days ago that I suspected was not properly bypassing. Found evap frozen solid and thawed out coil. Found t stat was was cycling properly and opening and close liquid line solenoid properly. Went up to roof to check my pressures and I was running 23/133. -10 degree coil temp and only 63 degree condensing temp. Outdoor ambient was 45 degrees. Refrigerant was R-404a. Suspected the unit was low on charge but I found that sight glass was filled with liquid. Felt the discharge line going to valve was hot to touch and liquid line from condenser to valve was warm and line to receiver was also warm to touch. I also checked the liquid line filter drier and it only had a 1 degree td from inlet to outlet. suspected that the headmaster valve was not properly bypassing due to having such a low head pressure. Headmaster valve is supposed to maintain 180 psi. The box temp was around 5 degrees and stat is set for 0 degrees. Any suggestions or tips from anyone would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

those Grasslin defrost timers most of these fail most contractors replace them with the Paragon mechanical time clocks as they are reliable and readily available those Grasslin timers has the 3 tabs also so it can snap into a standard Paragon 8145-20 case or the adapter kit to mount the Grasslin timer to the paragon mounting bracket or the old AMF Paragon cases Nor Cal refrigeration and Jim Pettanio has channels replacing these Grasslin timers with the Paragon 8045-20 and 8145-20 timers.

it should be closed as much as possible. its like asking "how much does a bag of grocery weigh?" 'It depends...' on the volume of the cooler (and door opening) temperature and humidity difference, the insulation, the rating of the cooling system, and how well it's running. probably a few other factors I haven't thought of

OEM is crazy expensive (my local supply house is probably over charging me), Dayton band is trash(all died >1yr). Fasco, packard does not last as long as OEM (1-3 years before the squeekes start). I match specs, but it all for not.

If you clip that line on the Head pressure control valve that charge would instantly empty! If you actually look at the forces previously acting on that seat: There’s that constant force of the charge acting down on the seat hence permitting the gas flow (unwanted in that situation). The ofter force is the system’s pressure acting on the spring‘s side of the seat (wanted and needed to cut the flow). If that shaft/seat got stuck in the open position, the resulting force will try to push it up again but it‘s just stuck harder than this force from (190psi-180psi) just a 10psi difference can break loose. When now all force pushing down is cleared by letting out that 180psi pressure charge, it‘ll might very well loosen the stuck component… Am I wrong?

As an Ex Fridge engineer, I can explain.... The compressor is a hermatic type (Sealed) and generally don't have oil drain off valves. That means you would need to un sweat the compressor every time you change the oil. Then multiple oil changes after the system is live. So would cost in excess of 4 days work for a tech at $400 = $2000.00. No real cost benefit on a system that costs $5k.

Restaurant owners imagine preventative maintenance is like cost of living increases for workers. "If they worked yesterday, they'll work tomorrow, why should i spend the money?" It's only once equipment or staff finally quits working that they suddenly care. That revolving door of employees is a good sign they probably aren't being responsible with their equipment either. Machines don't ask for a raise, they just break down according to Murphy's Law, on a Sunday, a holiday, or both.

It baffles me that no one is using electronic defrost clocks, but still use those old mechanical ones.
Seems like a bad idea having a mechanical clock on the roof, where it will eat a lot of dust and seize up.

The relays on the electronic timers just don’t last like the old mechanical timers.

      @@2012tunes1 Aah i see.
But that could be down to them using small relays with smaller contacts. If memory serves, there is also a relay on the mechanical ones, if they used the same type of relay, i dont see why it should not work just as long as the ones on the electromechanical clock.

If you know that there is a problem and what that problem is then it makes it perfectly OK to ignore until it fails. Then some regrets are had and some curse words said then we press on.
