That's a very interesting rare Canadian National CN consist @ around 7:30 with a standard cab GE C40-8 and interesting CN SW8 Road Switchers! You don't see this that often these days, especially with Road Switchers in the consist. Those standard cab GE C40-8's started to disappear without notice. One of my favorite locomotives built by General Electric GE.
Fun fact... When I worked at the Memphis roundhouse we would set up switch engines like that (cabs on either end) for the yard crews to work the inbound trains in the yard. 2 sets flat switched the trains each shift. We called them "double buckets"
Like the old CN switchers. the rail looks worn out. Have you seen BNSF 5869 a 25th Annivsersary Unit? Its been on the Transcon mostly. Not sure if the BNSF 5869 will ever run on secondary lines.
Looks like the CN is moving a lot of power north. There was a train passed my house while I was mowing this afternoon that had 5 units on the head end. Switchers yesterday and road power today....
