Simply loved Sudhir's way of approaching a film generally. Very natural, so accurate and sensible and that's how a review should be. I think we have to stop encouraging reviewers who just blindly comes out of the theatre doing a hot review, venting out their emotions. Sudhir has excelled in reviewing a film. Quality and more like a discussion. I see Leo as a character establishment film, obviously with the touch of History of Violence. Its a story of a man with dual identities, who is'nt interested to delve into his past. With enough high moments and loki's sensible writing. Thats it. Looking forward to how Leo plays in LCU. Sudhir is right.. many ppl have not clearly understood why the hyena is part of the movie. The anger sequence of Parthiban and Hyena is correlated and that’s Leo! It’s not so easy to understand Lokesh’s view towards Leo! Analyze and you will get to know Leo!

But to deny this movie is more than a surface scratch, or that there isn't many memorable moments, or foreshadowing or even correlations/parallels. Is plain stupid. If you are from South India and a Tamil audience, and if you hold the majority opinion. I will plain out say that you all are still following the mass element and haven't ventured down a more down to earth story telling. As much as people are complaining about Antony having potential to be a very deep character (I feel that way too), but those same people fail to recognize how well his character fits into the story and how much he wanted Leo back. He loved Leo so much, he just wanted his son back. He chose to shoot Leo in the flash back to protect his business, but then it was too late. And in the current timeline he didn't take the son to genuinely kill him, it is more likely it was to make Parthi admit he is Leo (his only condition to releasing Parthi's son is just so he admits he is Leo). And evrytime he admitted he is Leo, he killed anyone who heard it. Including Harold. That scene also worked deeply in how Leo is genuinely dead in the heart of Parthiban. How much he believed it. But how, just for how much he is his father, he could see through Parthiban. These are small details that wasn't highlighted as a mass scene that you lot are expecting. It was amazing, the story line was beautiful and very creative. Yes the forest fightscene was genuinely, eh.. but that's only in the lense of expecting something mass. But just a character introduction, it wasn't bad. The reason it lacked the mass element was good enough.

In Vikram, after the reveal of Kamal as agent Vikram in Intermission, his character will be explained by Fahad Fasil in second half starting which is not a mass moment coz the story will be narrated in animation. However, the narration gave so much details about that character which gave goosebumps. At least, the character reveal by Mansoor Ali Khan could have given more detail about that Leo character instead of just showing some random intro fight, intro song and shooting scenes.

I believe only Sudhir understood the movie. Truly pattern of DC title card was fantastically done. Using animal's in scene well portrayed. Chasing was fantastic. Over all movie and making is really fabulous. Why comparing movies first?. Every movie has its own flavour. You expect something and it was not happening on screen is not director problem. Watched the movie yesterdy,seriously except sudhir brother rest of them just blabbers...hulk refrence was exactly the same feel happened to me... leo is not lion leo is similar to hyena which is tamed and conditioned... napoleon characterization seems to be driving force of LCU and it worked in this movie. Flashback seems to low weighted but thts what loki wanted to do i think. Alter ego concept and vj sir adopted the 2 characters to a great extent. Happy to witness the strong evolving technical aspects in Tamil cinema.

Sudhir's analysis is incredibly accurate. Unfortunately, other reviewers seemed to have missed the essence of the movie. It's amusing that Bala claimed to have been on Twitter from 4 am until he watched the film,and it’s funny that he watched bits and pieces from twitter and complains no mass moments in the movie 😂😂😂. Perhaps Bala's expectations were better suited for movies with a more traditional focus on mass entertainment.

Leo is one of the best Lokesh movie. It takes time to realize the classic of this action movie . Like we celebrate Ayirathil Orivan after 10 years and we celebrate many Balachander movie after 10 years.
Sudhir has better clarity and bettter explanations than others. What Sudhir explains are all there in the first half. 2nd time watch will work out for many who think the film is not up to the mark.
Please stop saying the LCU connection is foreceful. This is an origin story.. For eg, Black Panther has nothing to do with the MCU except the Post credit scene(where Bucky got treatment). Some films are made just to introduce the characters whom may contribute to the greater universe in the future. Leo has many faults, the LCU connection is not one.

Yesterday I watched the Tamil movie LEO in theatre. Really my experience was very horrible. Nothing to mention anything about this movie. Please, please and please don't waste your hard earned money.
If leo can get help from young adaikalam or Rolex to get that consignment, it would be a ultimate LCU reference. That would have create more discussion on Leos role in LCU. This is not creative freedom guys , by telling an excuse that " lokesh has set high standards , so we will question him to the core using very unprofessional phrases ". So many other Biga stars and Directors have escaped with mediocre movies , very sad to see ramesh bala comparing leo with vedhalam. "Frame by Frame , intha scene okkarala , kootu vantha ellaraym use pannanum " . This movie is outlined for Parthibam/leo as both protagonist and antagonist which they didnt emphasise very well in 2nd half. The movie making and the acting of the lead is exceptional. Dont take too much creative freedom , you need not to appreciate it but dont drive this to a crazy side , we want our actor to try different attempts of acting and Movie making.

It a well written movie don't know why youtubers roasting Leo movie. Few hidden details i found below. 1. Antony Dass always has angel white wings during coffee shop also in animal/human sacrifice scene 2. Parthiban has thorn crown 👑 during coffee shop scene with Antony Dass 3. Parthiban daughter named hyena as Elsa Leo sister name is Elisa 4. Leo says to Harold Dass if someone knew about Leo it means 2 things 1.they will die referring to Antony and Harold 2.they must have died already referring to Vikram the Ghost 5. Here hyena refers to Leo sister Elsa who firstly wants to go away from the dass & co 6. Leo stays as a lion 7. Eagle refers Vikram only eagle knew Parthiban is Leo 8. Throughout the movie the horse shows whenever Leo gets angry or threatened, the market fight scene inside the horse accessories shop, at the meeting with Harold Dass and few scenes inside Parthiban house as well. 9. During the Antony fight scene before leaving the bike Parthiban warned Nepoleon to catch the bike which he failed to react on time 10. Parthiban/Leo is referred to as hot chocolate 11. Parthiban daughter eating chocolate at interval and agent Maya eating the same chocolate at the climax phone conversation scene 12. Also through the movie Parthiban getting punished with back wounds whenever Leo comes out 13. The wounds have numerical orders Hyena leave 3 mark and Joshi leaves 2 mark with hammer and finally Harold ignites the Leo back with 1 fire by saying now Leo character will come out as the countdown finished Leo comes out with a bang. 14. Sandy asking for Chocolate coffee he gets chocolate coffee as said above Leo is referred as the hot chocolate 15. At the scene Joshi explains about Anthony Dass to Parthiban he is placing the custom made liquor bottles with eagle symbols on it maybe Joshi is also an agent of Vikram. 16. Parthiban turned into Leo for a few minutes to beat the cop who says bad about his marriage life after that Parthiban meditating to send Leo character out.

To Abishek : you keep on asking how come trisha and her daughter come to bedroom after Vijay lock them in panic room. Let me explain to ur dumb mind. 1) that is not panic room. That is a small space under the stairs which usually we will convert into small to which we use as a storeroom. 2) Vijay lock them in the room when he going to chase sanjay dut. 3) after the death on sanjay dut u can see a conversation between Vijay and GVM infront hospital mortuary. 4) after that there will be a scene he and trisha sitting in sofa when arjun call him. That call happen when vijay at home. Please watch the movie properly. Don't watch the movie like common audience and criticism. If u want to just review a film the ur understanding is gud enough. But if u want to analyse the film, then u should understand the film to every single scene

Sudhir is right.. many ppl have not clearly understood why the hyena is part of the movie. The anger sequence of Parthiban and Hyena is correlated and that’s Leo! It’s not so easy to understand Lokesh’s view towards Leo! Analyze and you will get to know Leo!

But to deny this movie is more than a surface scratch, or that there isn't many memorable moments, or foreshadowing or even correlations/parallels.
Is plain stupid. If you are from South India and a Tamil audience, and if you hold the majority opinion. I will plain out say that you all are still following the mass element and haven't ventured down a more down to earth story telling.
As much as people are complaining about Antony having potential to be a very deep character (I feel that way too), but those same people fail to recognize how well his character fits into the story and how much he wanted Leo back. He loved Leo so much, he just wanted his son back.
He chose to shoot Leo in the flash back to protect his business, but then it was too late. And in the current timeline he didn't take the son to genuinely kill him, it is more likely it was to make Parthi admit he is Leo (his only condition to releasing Parthi's son is just so he admits he is Leo).
And evrytime he admitted he is Leo, he killed anyone who heard it. Including Harold.
That scene also worked deeply in how Leo is genuinely dead in the heart of Parthiban. How much he believed it.
But how, just for how much he is his father, he could see through Parthiban. These are small details that wasn't highlighted as a mass scene that you lot are expecting.
It was amazing, the story line was beautiful and very creative. Yes the forest fightscene was genuinely, eh.. but that's only in the lense of expecting something mass. But just a character introduction, it wasn't bad.
The reason it lacked the mass element was good enough.

In Vikram, after the reveal of Kamal as agent Vikram in Intermission, his character will be explained by Fahad Fasil in second half starting which is not a mass moment coz the story will be narrated in animation. However, the narration gave so much details about that character which gave goosebumps. At least, the character reveal by Mansoor Ali Khan could have given more detail about that Leo character instead of just showing some random intro fight, intro song and shooting scenes.

Watched the movie yesterdy,seriously except sudhir brother rest of them just blabbers...hulk refrence was exactly the same feel happened to me... leo is not lion leo is similar to hyena which is tamed and conditioned... napoleon characterization seems to be driving force of LCU and it worked in this movie. Flashback seems to low weighted but thts what loki wanted to do i think. Alter ego concept and vj sir adopted the 2 characters to a great extent. Happy to witness the strong evolving technical aspects in Tamil cinema.

Please stop saying the LCU connection is foreceful. This is an origin story.. For eg, Black Panther has nothing to do with the MCU except the Post credit scene(where Bucky got treatment). Some films are made just to introduce the characters whom may contribute to the greater universe in the future. Leo has many faults, the LCU connection is not one.

Yesterday I watched the Tamil movie LEO in theatre. Really my experience was very horrible. Nothing to mention anything about this movie. Please, please and please don't waste your hard earned money.
If leo can get help from young adaikalam or Rolex to get that consignment, it would be a ultimate LCU reference. That would have create more discussion on Leos role in LCU. This is not creative freedom guys , by telling an excuse that " lokesh has set high standards , so we will question him to the core using very unprofessional phrases ". So many other Biga stars and Directors have escaped with mediocre movies , very sad to see ramesh bala comparing leo with vedhalam. "Frame by Frame , intha scene okkarala , kootu vantha ellaraym use pannanum " . This movie is outlined for Parthibam/leo as both protagonist and antagonist which they didnt emphasise very well in 2nd half. The movie making and the acting of the lead is exceptional. 2. Parthiban has thorn crown 👑 during coffee shop scene with Antony Dass
3. Parthiban daughter named hyena as Elsa Leo sister name is Elisa
4. Leo says to Harold Dass if someone knew about Leo it means 2 things 1.they will die referring to Antony and Harold 2.they must have died already referring to Vikram the Ghost
5. Here hyena refers to Leo sister Elsa who firstly wants to go away from the dass & co
6. Leo stays as a lion
7. Eagle refers Vikram only eagle knew Parthiban is Leo
8. Throughout the movie the horse shows whenever Leo gets angry or threatened, the market fight scene inside the horse accessories shop, at the meeting with Harold Dass and few scenes inside Parthiban house as well.

10. Parthiban/Leo is referred to as hot chocolate

To Abishek : you keep on asking how come trisha and her daughter come to bedroom after Vijay lock them in panic room. Let me explain to ur dumb mind.
1) that is not panic room. That is a small space under the stairs which usually we will convert into small to which we use as a storeroom.
2) Vijay lock them in the room when he going to chase sanjay dut.
3) after the death on sanjay dut u can see a conversation between Vijay and GVM infront hospital mortuary.
4) after that there will be a scene he and trisha sitting in sofa when arjun call him. That call happen when vijay at home.

The Real Reviewer Suthir understand the film clearly...Abishek just pulling the Negative Comments on leo and also against Suthir... Next one the Ramesh had totally a waste of frame.He just comparing the Leo with mostly Jailer Jailer Jailer also Vikram Kaithi ,I think thiz was not the correct way to see a film by a Reviewer.The First and Foremost thing was the Reviewer needs to understand the concept and theory of the film clearly.Nxt they need to possess their points on social media..They just creating some rumour theory which wasn't applicable to the film
