Agreed! But instead of only south industry celebrates directors like him, the whole Indian cinema should celebrate these kind of talents and encourage them to do more movies at par with international standards. Hope all goes well!
Always critics kept complaining that Kamal intervenes in the director’s work. Now here is a man who knows his job and was honest about his approach and Kamal has no hesitation to give him all the freedom and the output is terrific. Now critics maybe wondering what else to complain about the legend. Kudos to Lokesh to not fall into the trap of super stardom and Respect for Kamal to do this kind of script after all that he has achieved. True trend setter of Indian cinema

I am equally impressed with Lokesh's talent in writing, directing and handling interviews. Handling interviews is a really difficult process whether or not you are a favourite of the interviewer, and Lokesh is doing a great job with these interviews. He is certainly worth the praise that he is receiving and so is his technical team. Amazing work.
The film was filled with clever scenes, that elevates the action sequences. Two of my favorite scenes were the wedding scene with weapon concealment (Plata o plomo - pablo escobar reference) and Sethupathi asking everyone to leave the home, while kalviya selvama plays on the radio. Waiting for the next Lokesh film
One thing which I noticed was, that pesticide guy is Amar gang. He was already known to Santhanam Gang, but he just walks easily along with Amar gang into the reception. I thought santhanam would doubt it and there would be clash between Amar gang and Santhanam gang.
Mine too. Body language of VJS when playing kalviya, veerama, selvama. Adding on, movie's main plot is the wedding scene and if you have watched the teaser of this movie (released 2 yrs back), you'll be amazed to see the connection. Also the song, chakku chakku vathikuchi song at the beginning when Kamal apparently gets captured and then again in the prison cell. Displays aesthetic sense and sheer brilliance.

That reference to the name Stephen Raj. And Loki's answer that it was kept as Arjun Das had the same baritone voice as Salim Ghosh... OMG huge fanboy moment. My brother and myself used to use this name for all our plays as children ❤️❤️❤️
Prolific interview. Really enjoyed watching this whole interview and went at lightening speed. Wish it continued for more time. Thanks to BR for sensible and intelligent questions and LK is brilliant & humble after huge success!
Truly LK is great! He has revealed so much of the LK universe here in the interview which means how confident he must be in his screenwriting for the future films of LKU
Mann Lokesh, it was a delight to see how a fraction of your thought and mental process works. I'm literally smiling because I'm so excited for the novel things you're introducing to the world of Tamil Cinema. Make us proud macha 💪
The whole interview was great. Glad that you asked him about VJS's character because I too felt that there was a dip and maybe that character should've been more deadly but knowing that there were some scenes that didn't make the final cut makes it bittersweet because it was not that Lokesh didn't think about it, rather it was a decision to make the film U/A.
27:42 So, vikram is not a kuruttu maanga adi victory, but a properly thought, analyzed and planned staging that has involved understanding each other's strengths and weaknesses. Kamal won't easily give up the mantle to someone until the person really deserves.
I love BR’s interviews. He asks very intelligent questions and LK’s answers are brilliant. I have been waiting for this interview. I loved the pre-release interview also. Well done 👍👍👍
I'm genuinely surprised when he said he was going to slow down the process. Not many people would think of that when they reached high. LK is definitely a 💎!
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ What I like about lokesh is.... accepting the mistakes....in public...when an interviewer asks.. about the mistake... 💥💥He agree with them....even in twitter .....he accepted his mistake when a fan asked about VFX of vIkram.... 💥💥Keep it up.....
Thank you Baradwaj for continuing this session here also. This has made me watch Vikram again because as always i didnt notice the details like you did. And whenever lokesh makes another movie, please do this kinda deep discussion with him. what a clarity he has about what he is making.. superb!!
What i loved in the film is that it doesn't insult the audience's IQ or spoonfeeds them.. Some of what Baddie's asking did strike me as well as i watched the film a second time....and it's amazing how Lokie has ready responses.. Its a masterclass in enjoying and appreciating cinema.... What it does for a fan like me is to try and look beyond the obvious in any content i see..... Creators such as kamal and lokesh deserve credit for educating the audience and bringing them up to a certain IQ level that allows them to explore and appreciate good cinema...
It's a tricky task though. Subtle writing used to be understood only by a specific set of audience until a few years back as it required some cinema and common knowledge. It used to be discouraged in high budget films by producers. Hence we were able to see that only in specific artistic movies in the past. The situation has improved now due to widespread use of the internet and content people are exposed to. I still was able to see few guys whining in the theatre "enada ithu oru elavum purila" for Vikram and even Maanadu. Though it hurts, happy that the general audience's perspectives are changing.
We need more of these kind of after movie interviews from the best directors 💯 .. this one was tooo good really got the spark to watch the movie again 👍
Lokesh Kanagaraj 💎🙌🏻 what a genuis this man is.the way he talk is simply and warmly. Such a inspiration. He has definition and details for each and every scenes. became a FANBOY of him and his works ❤️
true. Mansur ali khan is a total badass. I loved all his 90s movies and he terrorizes like no other villains. Compared to Anandh raj, Ponnambalam Mansur used to terrorize me a lot. Very good actor and like Anadh, he can be a good comedic relief too. That is what I love about him. Also I thought the gym fight scene is a reference to Singaravelan gym fight, but my bad that no one spoke about it. I watched 3 times in the theatre in the US and i am astonished that even on 7th day I saw quite a lot of people in the hall. Where I live, the % of Tamizh people is very very less and this movie is solid even in such an area. Kudos Loki !
@@manickkavallisreeraj7909 For people who haven't seen the movie yet...this might be a spoiler so please look away. In the scene where they follow Kamal, the police guys would be watching a youtube video. That is a song from the movie Asuran(old movie) which sort of bases its story with Predator (Arnold). What's surprisng is that Mansur Ali Khan's role in that movie Asuran is a continuation of his role from Captain Prabhakaran. Given how this movie has it's world, I think it's a nice touch that Lokesh used another character that has already been in the same character across two movies. Here is that song th-cam.com/video/OkJkjyVFX8E/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=NHTamilSongs
Fahad/Amar has the classic Dan Harmon's Hero's Journey. He sets up to find the masked man, Gets into the unknown world of drug mafia and cartel, finds the masked man, in turn loses his loved one, realizes about his true intentions and motives, then becomes the masked vigilante who fights injustice.
By far my favourite character in the film. And fafa just absolutely buried it. Anyone else, Prithvi raj, nivin anyone else wouldn’t have been able to do it that well. Fahadhs screen presence is something else.

I personally feel Lokesh should make films according to his time , so that there will be no quality compromises.. Lokesh should never ever compromise on content for stars... Kudos to Lokesh & team .. so gracious of big stars to join in a film & making it a huge success.. hats off to Lokesh.
God bless him in future projects.
thank you for the subtitles. Lokesh sir has a huge fan following among all languages
I was half expecting Baradwaj to lose it and suddenly start vibing like 'VIKRAM!'. But seriously, what a movie and what an amazing score by Anirudh!
Thank you for the English subtitles for helping non Tamil speaking people 😍😍😍
That mobile shop story with Kamal sir would have been amazing Lokesh :) Would love to see it in future.
This interview is the best example of how the right questions prompts the best answers. I can see the difference between lokesh's answer in this interview and other interviews. Good work as usual Baddy!
Also movie got released... Now Lokesh ready to reveal
I love that he's so open about his love for DC movies. Lighting, Music, Shots so much was inspired from that.
Thank you for a brilliant watch Lokesh. Can notice so much more details upon the 2nd watch. Vikram demands it.
Lokesh, please dont get carried away with this massive success, i am sure you will not… continue to do excel and keep doing better than what you are, all the best… waiting for your next movie
That reference to the name Stephen Raj. And Loki's answer that it was kept as Arjun Das had the same baritone voice as Salim Ghosh... OMG huge fanboy moment. My brother and myself used to use this name for all our plays as children ❤️❤️❤️
he is giving a new dimension what tamil cinema needed❤️🔥
and he is just growing based on the amazing response..🔥
Wow. 2 hours interview without boring. I can clearly see the difference between the director and movie reviewer
Havent seen much directors giving such a deep conversation post release of the film...
Hats off to Lokesh 🖤 More excited to see LCU
See Rohith's interview after "Kala" release
@@sharonscaria No, we are especially speaking about Multi verse kind of complex commerical story...
.
Because there's no such details to discuss in their movies
1. Vikram 3
2. Kaithi 2
3. Agent Tina Webseries
4. Agent Bejoy Webseries
5. Kaithi Prequel
6. Rolex backstory
Expecting more like these Sir..
websites huh😂😂😂 lmao no way
Congratulations BR and Lokesh! You made us all proud Lokesh.
Enapa ivaru ivlo story vachurukaru keka keka interestinga iruku keep rocking man🔥🔥
My God such a good movie...just can't wait for the next part
Prolific interview. Really enjoyed watching this whole interview and went at lightening speed. Wish it continued for more time. Thanks to BR for sensible and intelligent questions and LK is brilliant & humble after huge success!
Glad that Bharadwaj is asking the question that audience wants to ask & also the questions that It didn't occur in my mind but was a good question 👌👏
Ar.murugadoss & lokesh unbelievable.
Rendu perum paakka calm ah irupanga.
But output blast 💥🔥
Each trap of first half till interval block was massive which made us to dissolve into lokesh universe he is Indian Stand Lee ❤️
I didn't get bored while watching the lokesh interview for n-th time
I love BR’s interviews.
⠀⠀⠀
⠀ What I like about lokesh is.... accepting the mistakes....in public...when an interviewer asks.. about the mistake... 💥💥He agree with them....even in twitter .....he accepted his mistake when a fan asked about VFX of vIkram.... 💥💥Keep it up.....
What's the mistake bro?
@@manibalatlee7565 he said in intetview master la இன்னும் நல்ல story எழுதிருக்களாம்...nu sonnaru....story lag aachu nu agree pannaru
It's Baddy not Birdie!!!
@@gopinathg6142 guilty as accused.. Corrected 😀
@@gopinathg6142 BR can be birdie also, I thought it's intentional by the commentor
Exactly, I Think That's Why It Got Some Negative Review Because It Didn't Spoonfeed Them The Brilliant Writing
Extremely grateful for the English Subtitles. Not enough words to thank You 🙏
Lokesh Kanagaraj interviews has a special fan base ❤️
We need more of these kind of after movie interviews from the best directors 💯 .. this one was tooo good really got the spark to watch the movie again 👍
Put subtitles... So many film lovers around the world want to listen to him.. it's a request
Lokesh Kanagaraj 💎🙌🏻 what a genuis this man is.the way he talk is simply and warmly. Such a inspiration. He has definition and details for each and every scenes. became a FANBOY of him and his works ❤️
BR, High time we do a Master class with BR. This is terrific. Screenplay writing demystified in 90 mins ❤️❤️❤️
Mansur ali khan? He is not in the movie
He was absolutely insane...Loved him!
By far my favourite character in the film. And fafa just absolutely buried it. Anyone else, Prithvi raj, nivin anyone else wouldn’t have been able to do it that well.
Fahadhs screen presence is something else.
For the first time in my life, I'm watching an interview for the third time. Never ever watched an interview even twice before.
I am impressed lokesh is giving so much interviews without getting bored
That Mariam George's scene he explained would have been hilarious. Theater la Semma hit ayirukkum 😂😂😂 Cha... We missed it.
India should be proud of Loki to pull this off, i don't see any other director doing this!!! It was class.
Great to see Lokesh recognizing LCU which was created by the audience
BR is a genius and so is Loki . What an interview
A Screenwriting Masterclass by Lokesh Kanagaraj 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻.
The Writer seems to be incharge of the proceedings and the Director takes charge after the writing is done ✅✅✅
The new Gem Of Indian Cinema 💎💎💎
OMG.... Almost 2 hours interview...never felt like that.... One of the best interview without skipping content.... LK is very clever and clear director.... Clearly shown that LK is inspired from Legend Kamal
Such an AMAZING interview. It's a pleasure to watch Baradwaj being such an eager eager film buff anf asking about EVERYTHING! And Lokesh is so humble and a pleasure to listen to even for a loooong time. Not a single fake or cringe moment.
Amazing interview. A real eye opener to the screenplay, story and making of Vikram.
One of the best cinema interviews in recent times. Thanks to Baradwaj & Dir Lokesh 👍🙏
This excellent discussion should tag along after the movie probably in OTT media.
Loved this man's approach every single time he got into an interview. When Loki told about his strong areas/home ground, Baradwaj instantly reacted the same way i did and made Loki go deep into that entity. Hats off man :)
I'm a big fan of Lokesh. I always wonder how a person can be this much calm and clear about his thoughts. lot more success is on the way for him All the best na.
I watched a Tamil movie in theater after 3 years. It is worth it Lokesh - thank you for taking Tamil cinema to next level. In each and every scene I can see your hard work everywhere, that made this movie a huge success. Hard work always pays. Only suggestion is in next movie please reduce the violence for under age viewers.
Kamal is 100 times a better cinema legend than people like Rajini, Vijay, Ajith and deserves all the praise, legacy and money. The best part is Kamal spends all his money back on people (films then politics now)
2k kids - support Kamal for a better tomorrow. He is such an honest visionary. Superb intellect who will take TN to greater heights!
Bull shit
Kamal is talented but not motivational like rajni vijay ajith. Rajini Vijay Ajith motivates lots of youngsters.
@@redpillmatrix3046 making cringe motivational movies doesn't make them motivational.
@@ContractorNesamani91 they are motivational off screen with their hardwork they don't have botn talent like kamal especially ajith life story.
@@redpillmatrix3046 agreed, but speaking about real life motivator, I still think no one comes close to Kamal Haasan because of the number of failures he faced for making remarkable movies. Yet he never gave up on audience and cinema. And today the next generation is realising his true calibre, that's the highest point of motivation and inspiration.
Its been 10 days before and after the film I've watched all the interviews of him like something Now iam totally into his mannerism and way of speech ... bow douwn for u man just 🛐❤
Only someone like Kamal sir can see the visionary that Lokesh is
Intha matri padam continues ah hit aana mass masala padam laam inni odaathu. Yess indian cinema needs quality films like Hollywood. All the best lokesh
I might have differences on his reviews, like Kaithi. But other channels should learn from his style of interviewing. Truly noteworthy!
This ~ 2 hour interview video should be released in the theatre....Might become another blockbuster.. Great interview :-)
