  • 6/17/24 ARP 1613 sequencer triggers a pair of General Radio 1564-A + Roland RE-301 + CXM 1978
    Gate bus 1 pings the 1564-A on the left to make the bass drum. It’s set to 1/3 octave when the ARP is in sequential mode, then it’s switched to 1/10 when ARP goes random. Gate bus 2 goes to the other 1564-A, which gets tape echo from the Roland RE-301. The Chase Bliss CXM 1978 is set to a very small room reverb.

    Nice gate bus pinging. They're just oscillators, right?

      @@AlexBallMusic they don’t really self-oscillate, but they give you excellent aggressive distortion on audio signals in all pass mode or they act as nice bandpass filters and you can choose 1/3 or 1/10 octave for your desired transients and decay, a frequency range of 1, 10, 100, or 1000, and dial in the band level for appropriate punch and harmonics. Good to have a low cut and an attenuator after it if you ping it for kicks or subs!
