I'm amazed they still used wagons without air brakes in the 1980s. I thought the only place they still did that at the time was on Thomas The Tank Engine.

This vid is filmed with Clive Robertson on the RVR between Hexham and Stockrington. Robbo used to work for the ABC but could quite possibly have done this for NBN who was responsible for Hearts of Fire, and a few others which I have on tape somewhere.

Hi ya bloke , it was from a Channel 7 programme with Clive Robertson on it & was shown in 1984 / 85 as I've also recorded it from off the telly back then ( onto Beta!!! ) , for memory the show was called "Mornings with Clive" , I don't recall if this was actually on the ABC though????
    Kevin.

Going off the date the film would have be shot between Hexham and Stockrington on Richmond Vale Railway.

It would be awesome to see the steam trains back in action

@nannadiva This is not the program made by NBN Television. NBN's documentary was titled 'The Richmond Vale Railway' and filmed in late 1987. It was a one-hour special that looked at the RVR line and closure, including the brave stand made by rail employees to try and save steam, including a long sit-in protest with hijacked SMR No.25, the green engine featured in this short film.

If i remember correctly NBN won a logie for the programme. The good old days before 9 came in and we virtually lost nbn

I saw 25 run its last trip at the RVR a couple of years ago. As to what this TV show is I do not know but I would be very interested to know.
