- I have been wearing barefoot shoes for over a year now however I couldn't quite believe my eyes when I saw barefoot socks. In one week in barefoot socks, I test these power socks to the max and see if shoes are now a thing of the past?

I know not everyone is into barefoot shoes but these are legit and so cheap so you may as well give them a go. I am not getting a commission, I just like the product. 😊
These or skinners for running on s treadmill?

I bought two pairs which arrived a month ago. I've worn them every day since then and absolutely love them. I haven't been brave enough to leave my property in them but I have a varied/muddy/rocky property and they've been wonderful throughout. I'm also in the UK but find putting a pair of bamboo socks on under my barefoot socks keeps my feet as snuggly as can be. I grew up in South Africa where we often went barefoot and these come as close as I remember my barefoot life. I just wish they came in other colours.

Haha I was editing the video when I was messaging you so it was on my mind. 😅 I think my calves grew during lockdown as I was skipping all the time.

Thanks a lot for that review! I'm in barefoot shoes for over 7 years already, also had different sock shoes, even made some myself, so I'll give them a try now! will be my all day all year shoe 😁
7 years that’s awesome have you noticed any major differences over the years with your feet?
@@PeteOnPurpose yes, I have very problematic feet, they are very wide (even too wide for any kind of orthopedic shoes, too wide for most barefoot shoes as well - sounds crazy and it really is xD) so I always had to look for shoes with a soft fabric/stretchable material..lately I figured out that a lot of "China" water shoes from Amazon are perfect for me and I got like 8 pairs already... before I started with that I had a lot back pains, knee pains and after walking longer also strong feet pain (because I didn't know every shoe was too narrow I thought that's normal... 🤨).. all of those problems are gone, also my toes are more straight now... but for everyone who's starting, it's important to do that slowly, it's like with every muscle we didn't take care of a long time, so doing that too much too suddenly can also cause problems.. greets from Germany :)
@@Cara84de wow that’s an incredible story, I find the longer I wear my barefoot shoes the wider my feet seem to get to the point where I can no longer wear regular shoes even if I wanted to. Yes you are right it takes years to reverse decades of improper foot wear but I am glad to hear that it has paid off for you. 😀
@@PeteOnPurpose yes, it's great and also why my kids only getting barefoot shoes of course :) my older one even preferres to wear the skinners in school and if others wonder why she's wearing socks, she's explaining those are SOCK SHOES 😂

I've been wearing Feiyue's as my daily shoe and really like them. They are extremely cheap and feel like slippers. You should do a review on them.
They look really cool man, I don't think they are barefoot shoes though and the toe box doesn't look wide so I don't think my fat feet could fit into them! 😂
@@PeteOnPurpose you are correct. they are more minimalist zero drop shoes. But they are definitely a good entry into low padding "flat" shoes.

I just received mine, and I love them. I've been wearing Xero shoes for a long time now, and I feel ready to move to the next stage to further develop the strength and form of my feet. I'm very comfortable wearing them outside. Yet I'm not confident about wearing them into businesses. So that's the stage I'm at. I do love how you can feel the ground wearing them. Help the soles of your feet learn how to get used to feeling the environment so you can use your feet for what they were evolved for.
Yes mate they definitely get some looks as it looks like you are walking around in socks which I think appears even weirder than just being barefoot. The only negative I would say is they don't enable your toes to splay, though someone did suggest to me that you could wear a toe splayer underneath?
@@PeteOnPurpose What _are_ you talking about, my toes can splay the most out of any of my foot ware in these baresocks. As for the weird looks, I don't care about that. Seems like an insecurity type thing, and whatever. I'm simply not sure if they would _count_ as shoes according to the business.
Perhaps you bought a size too small?? The _reason_ I bought these sock-shoes is _because_ I can splay my toes and grip the ground with them so easily while wearing them.
I thought I got the biggest size but maybe not? I no longer have them they were in our van that broke down in Germany. I remember them being like wearing regular socks which also push my toes in? Im happy they work well for you. 😀

No I liked them, I’m just saying my feet felt a little restricted in them.
Seems great. I enjoy walking barefoot but with glass and stuff I rather not while in town.
If one wears those sturdy socks often enough people will get used to it. Someone else will try em out and after you know it the strange looks will become normal ones again
Have you tried them on a synthetic running track in the summer? I live in the desert and running barefoot on a track is a no-no. Thank you for the video. Was wondering about these socks for a while.
I have worn them in the summer and they get incredibly hot so not sure how good they would be on a track?
thinking of getting these for the gym. do you find your feet slipping or rolling INSIDE the sock against resistance? like if im standing and pulling against a cable machine the socks will stay in place bc of the grip but would your feet slide forward in them due to the resistance? if that makes sense. Like if you were on uneven terrain, a steep hill or large rock would your foot roll or slide around inside the sock? I just started working out bare foot and I love it (home gym lol) I do alot of resistance work and my feet slip with nothing on. if I wear socks the sock my stay but my foot slides in the sock so I dont stay planted. I think these might work, I dont really like the finger shoe things buy that was my other option.
Your feet should stay pretty well in one place with these, the only issue I had is your feet can get pretty sweaty if you get hot and then you can start sliding around.
Liked your vid. Bro are these socks wide toe boxed. That's the important thing to me. If I wear them will my big toe be straight not bent in the direction of the side I'm wearing? Like right to the right, and left to the left
Cheers Jeffrey, they actually do close your feet in a bit like wearing heavy socks so they would be a problem for you.
I think by far the biggest benefit of these is that they're so cheap that you can just try them out and if you don't like them you can just give them to someone else and not really feel bad about it

Great video. Looks like these are exactly the same as PWR Socks. I've done 15 weeks in Merrell Vapor 4 since moving from regular trainers and getting 2 pairs of PWR socks for Xmas.
I'm gonna just suck up wearing them in public 😁

Your feet will get used to rough terrain. You should see me tippy tapping barefoot in my summer house for two weeks compared to just walking about only flinching when getting a bruise
Hi, are these barefoot shoe socks in line with being foot shaped as well? Is the toe box area wide to let your toes splay out just like barefoot shoes or barefoot sandals?
Hey George, the toe box is not very wide so your toes are pulled in like when you are wearing socks so they are not ideal.

I never got a pair of anything barefoot, that being said I HATE wearing anything on my feet. I wonder if I get flex seal and spray a pair of sock to DIY it.

Just hang dry, because of the material they dry really quickly

I wouldn't say so, you can feel stuff poking through when you are wearing them so you do have to be careful.

Thanks for an excellent review. At first they looked funny as your girlfriend said ballet shoes, but at the end of the video they looked good from on top as well as the side view. Bare feet is unquestionably best in the house, but walking outside with no shoes, or normal socks is not the best idea in my opinion as they would feel slippery, and the filth of the outside world would not be enjoyable whatsoever.😆
They are very good the only downside is it does look like you are walking around in socks which can get some funny looks, especially during winter in the UK.
@@PeteOnPurpose that is insanely hardcore walking around in winter with them on if the weather is “freezing” I would opt for 2mm shoes if the temp felt like it was below zero. Unless these shoe socks also had had a warming device which would be awesome. 🙂
Oh I haven’t walked around in winter just saying that would be a down side.

I really wanna get a pair of 5 finger socks and shoes, people and my family might think I'm weird but who cares. In like 30 years when they have back and foot pain, I'm gonna be judging them like they were me. (also my feet are rlly cold and I wanna get as close to barefoot as possible but I need my warmth man so I gotta wear socks)

It looks like you got the XXL - what size feet do you have?
I wish I could say size 15 as I am wearing a XXL however I am actually a humble UK8, so the socks must stretch if you have bigger feet but they fit me great.

I consider buying these for the gym. How slippery are they at the bottom?
The bottom is actually really grippy, however they can get quite hot when wearing them to work out in.
@@PeteOnPurpose thank you. I’m currently wearing Skinners 2.0 but they are already pretty worn off at the bottom and slip slightly e.g. during leg press. I think I’ll give power socks a try

@@PeteOnPurpose they don’t have that many sizes and mine don’t fit perfectly so they sometimes slightly twist around the foot while working out but overall I like them. They came with an inlaid sole that would get tangled up all the time but it could easily be removed. Since they are quite expensive I will give the powersocks a try before I experiment with the size for the Skinners

There's this even more modern and resilient walking gear called barefeet walking. Once you start you'll never have to replace your barefeet again
