Meateater trivia game brought me here. I had never heard of Himalayan snowcock before today as one of the trivia games questions. Very very cool!!! What an adventure for a bird!! I would absolutely make this trip.
I've gone after that Dam bird 6 years in a row and still haven't closed the deal. Tomas creek. Last year the Olney 2 I saw were flushed by a hawk. I have only opened fire on 1 that was just too far, 3 years ago. You got very lucky, congratulations! I was really hoping you would have filmed how it tasted. All though that is in fact the first himilian snowcock on TH-cam, perhaps the internet. Yes I will be going back to the rubies this season.
I was getting a haircut in the big city and my barber who was not a hunter at all started talking to me and figured out I’m a die hard hunter. Going on he said the only thing he’s ever hunted for was snow Cock, and that he ended up killing one. Kinda crazy that he didn’t realize he’s killed a bird that’s probably top 5 of upland hunters haha but it sparked my interest in these birds
Have had the opportunity to see them up close in the Ruby's while deer hunting. They truly are a badass elusive bird. There was about 7 of them on a cliff above me and a eagle dove bombed them. They were like fighter jets screaming down the canyon to elude the eagle while making one of the most beautiful sound I've ever heard.
Wonderful video Mr.Peterson one the most unique birds and the only place to find them in the USA 🇺🇸 of course the silver state Nevada, you were here why not hunt Chukar and Hungarian partridge...? You find them here too

Did well showcasing the beauty of the Rubies, I live 20 minutes from those mountains, a wonderful oasis in the desert. Lots of good trout fishing too.
Your lucky to live there. Thanks for the comment.

“I thought it was semi-idiotic that we were doing this” I think that goes for a lot of things us hunters and fisherman do.
Right!
My grandpa hunted those all the time I went with him once got a monster snowcock
Did you get a bird?
Love the video. One of my bucket list birds for sure.
Incredible hunt and great shot! Looking forward to the next video, Mark.
