it sounds like they are saying a racist slur but its actually a word in Korean. i know it sounds like the slur but its not intended to be. On the words that sound like the slur translates to (I or me)
How ironic lolol. Black people do not approve and do not respect this mockery - Rap and Hip Hop as a genre was made BY BLACK PEOPLE FOR BLACK PEOPLE. Black culture is not for sale
@@thehelm658 I agree with that fact that Jay Park and everyone else who culture appropriated within this music video was obviously wrong. I feel though that anyone can make music of there own and genre. Of course there are exceptions too for specific genres which directly relate to the race and culture of a person. One thing I didn’t understand was the fact that the main point of the lyrics in the song talk about Korean culture. In this MV however, we don’t (see) any symbolism towards Korean culture. Jay took it down and just released another MV but this time actually showing Korean culture.
For more 🔥 k-hip hop check out H1ghr music, I think you’ll like “the purge”. Also they didn’t say ni**a, there’s a Korean word that sounds similar but means “I”.
The song is fire tho they got backlash because they were talking about being proud being Korean but having cornrows etc, that’s why the video got deleted it became a big polemic which I can understand especially because some of them are actually American and knows that having locks etc can piss people. Aside that foolishery of theirs jay park and ph1 are fire ass artists. Also this video you just seen is actually a remix of this one th-cam.com/video/NDP9OvACxw8/w-d-xo.html I think the original version is better.
Black female artists having straight hair dont piss off asian but having corn row piss black people? What kind of cultural appropriation is that? Im not blaming you but if they do that with respect, then we have no right to accuse them for doing that no?
Some more background info The original song to this remix is performed by YLN Foreign and Jay Park as Part of a korean TV survival show called High School Rapper kind of like American idol or got talent but with rap. Jay Park functioned as YLN Foreign‘s mentor and judge throughout the season that’s why he was featured in the song. Jay Park is the guy in the beginning with the opening verse and the hook (I aint 2Pac but imma rider) Jay Park is at this point in his career pretty much The Godfather of Korean rap and RnB. He was born and raised in Seattle and moved to Korea when he was 17 to originally become a k-Pop star but after only one year in the biggest boy group at that time he left/got kicked out of the group and became solo. He started doing RnB and back in 2010 that was not a popular genre at all in Korea but since he was super super famous he made it work and later on started to do rap as well. He is the CEO and founder of the two biggest independent RnB and hip hop record labels in Korea. AOMG (since 2013) and H1GHR MUSIC (since 2017) He massively contributed to the rise to mainstream of K-Hip Hop and RnB and is considered one of the most well established solo artist in Korean music. He does a ton of different genres including Pop and EDM as well next to well...you get it 😂 He is a bboy at heart and still gets down to the floor every now and then. Aside from pH-1 and Jay Park all the rappers in the video are very new and super young and Jay wanted to make this song with all of them to represent the new generation of Korean hip hop since he is also known to support young and upcoming artists not just in Korea but also independent artists in the states. He has close ties to the Seattle rap scene and signed some American artists to his label H1GHR MUSIC which is more globally oriented and has a more western style of music while AOMG consists of mainly well established Korean artists that cater towards more of a Korean style of urban music.
Can we speak on it!?! Because not one ounce of that video had Korean pride or influence(which would have been awesome). Unless they are black then the afros, dreads, braids, untied durag etc. would have made sense.
@@BoySupaBoy Jay Park co-founded the H1ghr Music label with a black producer who produced this song. They’ve been friends for years from both being in the b-boy crew Art of Movement in Seattle. Jay signed multiple black artists to his label because they told him they didn’t get many opportunities in Seattle. He literally wore a Black Lives Matter shirt in one of his documentaries as well as in The Purge music video (around September 2020).
