Shannon wasn't serious but he wants Vidal to think he is and intimidate an rial him up. Shannon keeps saying this is warfare, mental warfare. Shannon has fought the best and learned from the best about actions and talk before a fight. Break them before the fight get into KSI's head and his team. KSI team is his power house, getting through to them and pushing them off might make the give advice to KSI based on them being pissed rather than a level head. I mean Shannon gave Viddal's cousin the stockton slap, for coming up to him with fist. Logan wasn't able to mess with his team but Shannon can. Maybe it work and maybe it didn't but will find out at the fight.
You can tell it's just the heated warfare of this week, it's just more hype. Behind the scenes or after the fight depending on which way it goes there will be some sort of minimal respect between the two
SSBKAG yeh cuz the first press conference on the first fight when Shannon was the host Shannon talked to jj and when Logan and him faced off Shannon stopped jj from getting hurt or fighting back also he fist pumped jj and patted him on the back etc. So it shows his respect for both sides. He is just biased towards Logan as he is training him.

Let's not forget, Joe was once in Logan's position, making the crowd laugh, making KSI look goofy and that's whats winding him up. But look at the outcome of that fight, if anything it made him more motivated and ready, JJ can really handle the pressure in BMT situations.
