I met a gentleman at work today who had asked to show me this song. Earnest and truly I was moved to my core.
I can think of no better way to honor those who lost their lives in this tragedy than by immortalizing their memory in song.

Beautiful. It's been 30 years and I can still remember running downstairs to answer the phone before it woke mom up, I was 14 but I still remember the tone in that lady's voice when she asked to speak to my mother. They were calling to confirm dad had gone to work the night before so they knew how many men they were looking for.

Beautiful song. My grandfathers were both coal miners. I remember them still working hauling out trucks of coal right on the hill next to grandpa's house.My mamas uncle was beheaded in the mines from a slab of coal falling on him. Grandpa quit mining after that. Dangerous job. May they rest in peace.

Thank you for the video. I remember delivering every one of those papers. The black coal miner statue. The scene, the lies, the corruption. No inspector should have EVER signed their name to approve of this. How is it that they and the owners weren't lynched?
