Regarding Psalms 22 - in that day, there were no books/chapters/verses, so when Rabbi's taught, they would reference chapters by quoting the first few lines of the passage. I believe those in hearing would have recognized what Jesus was saying, that he quoting this Psalm. He wasn't really saying that God has forsaken him (like many think when reading this), but saying how that passage culminates, "That He has done this." meaning it is finished.
@fgstacker you are 100% correct, I believe it was called a remez and so absolutely when he said my God my God why have you forsaken me they would have immediately gone back to Psalms 22. I gotta limit my discussion or my videos would take 1hr lol, so I always leave so much on the table when I go back and listen and think I didnt mention this or that etc... great comment and point and glad you brought it up!
@Randy58ful thanks for the tokens man! Super cool. I really like that letter and dropping Romans 10:17 , i knew right away I liked this guy! Appreciate the encouragement my friend.
Half hour! I'm here for it... Some gnarly blood and water talk... Man you're covering some scriptures tonight! Thanks for sharing as always man. Those people did love Jesus, this would've been devastating for sure for them. Take it easy my friend...
Yeah, ran alittle long. +/- 20min is the target. Alwaysvappreciate you stopping in brother. His death had to have just crushed the disciples for sure. Next chapter he rises!
I don't like what the Jews did to Jesus. But I understand that the Jews are considered the chosen ones. My question is why are the Jews the chosen ones? I feel like the Jews should be the enemy.
@azwelke2638 well, a few things. The nation of Isreal was used to usher in the messiah as part of God's redemptive plan for mankind. The church is the new Isreal, we are the stars too numerous to count God told Abraham.... I'd add Jesus was a Jew too. The Jews might have played the role in Gods redemptive plan of crucifing Jesus however it was my sin and your sin that put him on the cross, the sin of all mankind put him on the cross. And he willing gave up his life. We are the Jews who rejected the King. There is only one enemy, and his name is Lucifier, The Prince of the power of the Air. Appreciate you watching and your questions.
