The Gold BOT! I hope people that do not have a tube of gold become inspired after watching this. One a month is a great way to build the tube over time👍👍
What is this?! Nice, love the bug out tube! Good looking gold you got there! Holy moly that is a bundle of $$$$! I like the logic here, smaller than a 1/10th is genius! Would come in very handy in an emergency! Lotta arrows in that sling to get stuff done with, genius man! I agree with a 1/10 being a bit large for bugging out. Smaller is better... I love the challenge... This may be a very very long term goal for me... 1 a month is a good pace... Grab and go!!! Great stuff man!
Love the thought of filling a bugout tube of gold. Great challenge, would like to jump in but no local coin shops or places to get good deals on gold or silver for that matter! I'll volunteer to be a cheerer for the challengers 😉. Thanks for sharing Best Wishes
It's a good challenge and a good idea. It's a bit too small for me at something close to 1/20 of an ounce. I generally never go below 1/10 ounce just because the Gold is soooo small. Having said that, I do love circulation or near circulation composition Gold so anything around 90% is fantastic. That's why I stick mostly to Gold Eagles along with some Krugerrands. Currently, I'm trying to finish off a tube of forty 1/4 ounce Gold Eagles in a Washington quarter tube. I'm very close though, and hopefully I'll have that completed sometime in 2025. When that's finished, I was intending upon going for another tube of fifty 1/10 Eagles. At some point, I do want to build some tubes of fractional pre-33 and foreign Gold, so it may be that this 90% Mexican Gold is a good option. I have so little discretionary money and am following a specific strategy with regard to my stacking, so I can't actually do the challenge. Having said that, I'm excited to keep track of the progress made. Hopefully there will be plenty of other people who will join in. Looking forward to 2025. Something tells me that The Prepper Stacker is going to be too tied up with a variety of other expenses this year to participate, but I'm sure he's wishing that he could. Great video challenge!
@veritasfiles what do you think about the value of gold in a shtf situation? My thought is gold will be very valueable and so 1gram and 1/20th would be ideal sizes and 1/10th could be too large. For sure, without question, i really like having multiple tubes of mutliple sizes, a quarter oz tube and 1/10th tubes along with smaller sizes would be the best approach. Not sure larger than 1/4oz is necessary when the time comes. ... stacking simply for wealth preservation with the assumption of peaceful times I think 1/2oz 1oz 50g really any size makes sense.
@@Steve_aka_Fish I think after the first 1 to 3 months of a true crisis where systems literally break down and/or disappear, the learning curve for survival will be steep, and people going back to real money in order to make barter more efficient will happen…likely in large open-air markets being constructed in the parking lots of burnt out big box stores and grocery chains. I think Gold will be reserved for very large and/or expensive items like vehicles, generators, solar panels, inverters, welding equipment, ammunition, antibiotics, condition specific medications, etc… I think large 1 ounce pieces of Gold will be reserved for things like property/land, houses, and a variety of vehicles or material. I think 1/2, 1/4, and 1/10 ounce Gold pieces are the sweet spot, and anything that requires a smaller increment of Gold could easily be handled by a stack of 1 ounce Silver coins, rounds, or bars. It’s value versus size. At some point, you get too small to be practical and safe. I’ve had a lot of Gold coins over the years, and I’ve ended up selling it all off, except for my Eagles and Krugerrands. That was either because it was too pure and soft, so it was easily bent, defaced and marred through handling, or was just too small and too easy to lose or misplace if you were trying to handle them, moving them from pocket to tube, tube to pocket, or hand to hand. Given the risk and the fact that when you drop below 1/10 ounce, virtually anything those increments can do can also be done by less than 10 ounces of Silver, there just isn’t any need for the smaller increment. I like the idea, but having handled a lot of that stuff, that’s the conclusion that I came to. I stay away from 24k. I stay away from Gold bars. I stick to circulation composition or near circulation composition 22k Gold coins, and I stay between ½ and 1/10 ounce. Anything else is for Silver and if they want, Copper. The fact is, you’re going to be looking to trade anything you can before you’d be willing to trade your Gold anyway. If someone will take 6 Silver Eagles and 4 Copper rounds for something, if you’re smart, you’re not going to pull out 2 or 3 tiny Gold coins and offer those instead. You always want to hold on to your best money or value store, and Gold is a better store of value than either Silver or Copper, which is why its Wealth Stroage Density Capacity (WSDC) is so much higher than the other two metals. They are really just change-makers for Gold. Fractional Gold is why I stay away from any Silver over 1 ounce. You have to pick your best points of transition. Anything that can’t be handled by your largest fractional Gold coin can be handled by a stack of them. Anything that can’t be handled by your smallest fractional Gold coin can be handled by a stack of 1 ounce Silver. Anything that can’t be handled by your 1 ounce Silver can be handled by your fractional pieces or by a stack of Copper pieces. My transitions are from fractional Gold to 1 ounce Silver pieces. From 1 ounce Silver pieces to fractional Silver pieces. Then I move from fractional Silver pieces to 1 ounce Copper rounds or fractional Copper in the form of pre-’82 pennies or other clad coinage that I keep (U.S. Nickels). People are normally price driven rather than utility driven. If they can get certain things closer to spot, they’ll go with that even if it won’t be the most advantageous for them in a real situation. I’ll tell you the truth. I’m not going to care that I paid a premium for a 1/10 ounce Gold coin over another piece of Gold or a large increment of Silver, if that fractional Gold is going to be the better medium of exchange to have to keep myself or someone in my family or circle of friends alive. That $ premium I paid years back isn’t even going to be on my radar, and I’m going to be grateful to have opted for utility over price all day long. My strategy is utility based, and it is also designed to preserve for myself the largest possibly universe of buyers in any future circumstance. That’s what I want, and it’s for those reasons (i.e. utility & largest possible universe of future buyers regardless of circumstances) that I choose the specific things that I do. I could go on, but those are some of my thoughts on the matter. I hope I answered your question buddy. Take care & keep stacking!
Excellent challenge! I was hoping to fill a 10th oz tube. But if I wasn't, I'd consider this too. Where can you buy the tubes itself without buying 5 ounces at once?
