Sure Timothy, Sorry for the late response. The '15 and 16' models were burning oil, they still may. My '17 has yet to show any sign up abnormally burning oil. I am just hit 15k miles. We have '16 and '17 Ford PIU and the only rear issue that is coming up is some front end drivetrain issues... I'm not sure of the exact problem, but I just turned in my '17 PIU in for at 18k miles PM and I reported some light intermitten clunking under the driver side near the engine compartment, I wrote it up as a strut check because it had the same sound characteristics of a bad strut... I got it back a week later and there appears to be a new power steering pump?? (warranty replaced) I am going to get with our departments fleet manager to see what the dealer paperwork says.
Andrew Aleman The Explorers and Tauruses have serious water pump issues because the engineers at Ford thought it was a good idea to put the water pump inside the engine driven by the timing chain and when the water pump fails by the bearings or gaskets, they will blow up the engine. They are even worse than the Tahoes. The Tahoe will go circles around the Explorer. All 2013-19 Police Interceptor models suffer from serious water pump failures. Ford stopped making good reliable police cars since the Crown Victoria was discontinued. It’s at least $1500 to fix the water pump because you have to tear down the engine. Ford never solved the issue until the new Explorer came out. The Chargers do have some issues as well but the 16 and newer models are much better than the earlier built ones.

MY QUESTION IS WHAT IS THE SUSPENSION PACKAGE ON IT Because I Have a Tahoe and I'm Trying to Lower it to the PPV Height CAN YOU TELL ME THE RIDE HEIGHT AND NAME OF THE STRUTS & ARMS ... Thanks!

We are actually getting a lift kit installed in the next week or two from Maxxed Off-road in Baytown Texas... my buddy has a 16 LT and wants to see if he can use my factory springs and such to lower his Tahoe. I will ask the company doing the lift and get back to you.

Update video some time this week... : ) There were only two components taken off the rear of the vehicle only. The spring and the shock. Spring Part Number 20985932 which shows "Suburban, Yukon XL. 2wd. Gmc. Z56 susp. Police package. Without denali." Shock Part Number: (off of mine) 84082017 doesn't pop up any where, but it refers to 84082040 and reads "Suburban, Yukon XL. Tahoe. Code: acpx. Police pkg." Honest review, I think. I'm looking for comparison with Tahoe RST. Not comfort features, but handling, cornering, how quick it is and its general "handling refinement". We often hear, "oh police vehicle", pursuit, etc.. But, how bad ass it is besides expected durability.t
SPO P I have not had the pleasure of experiencing the RST... but the PPV is pretty bad ass... just the torque and how fast it is is a major high light of the vehicle... for me, it’s kinda if you put a Pontiac G8 and Chevy SS with the new Caprice.... all the same car and the same performance stuff pretty much... it’s just a question of do you want just the power or do you want the power and the looks...

Maybe get like an SSV Tahoe. They have a better lift height than PPV and are more suited for off road
Change springs, shocks & struts, buy 10 ply tires, it will improve the ride and less bouncing....
Thanks! The city actually put a 6inch BDS lift kit and 35in tires. The ride and handling has changed dramatically.

If you lift a PPV, its not a PPV any more. You guys shoould have bought an SSV
We wanted a civilian model LS or LT. The PPV was the only one that our fleet department was buying at the time.
