    I’m so glad I found your video. I went to the scrap yard and got a relay for £2, fitted it and “voila” it worked.
    Really fiddly job but I did it and it cost £2.
    Thanks so much for your video.

    Excellent video. Good that you use OEM relay. Some aftermarket relays don't fit. While their 3 pins likely do fit, the relay box may not fit in the groove of the relay holder (grey part with the clips).

    Video most useful - thanks. As others have said, getting it out is a pita! For those that can solder and repair printed circuit boards, thers's a much cheaper option than buying a replacement flasher. One can carefully prise off the case of the flasher and there is a small Omron G8QN relay on a printed circuit board. That is the faulty component which can be unsoldered and removed. Be very careful with the soldering iron and solder sucker as surface mounted components are close by. The Omron relay has been discontinued but a replacement one, Part No MCCMA51-S-DC12V-C is available from CPC Farnell for £0.98 inc VAT plus postage. Don't blame me if you damage the flasher but you've not lost anything, but could have saved £50+, as you'd have to buy a new flasher anyway. Good luck.

      You made my day!!!. I tried to get first a replacement blinker relay, but two listed as compatible were too large... so I read this comment, opened the relay assembly and BINGO!!!, the inner relay is KO. I have just ordered from Farnell a replacement. Thanks A LOT !!!

I tryed to find the relay in the auxiliary market, but there is no information of the esqueme, I went to a Honda dealer....that is 80€....then I went to a scrap yard....and 2€ solved the issue!!

    Just so you know a fuse can test good and still not work just had it happen to me and it was a Acura RSX wasn't for the turn signals it was for starting the car but still it can happen they'll test good you'll put it in and it won't work I changed it with an oem fuse that was used the car started right up put the new fuse back in the car didn't start just putting that out there that it can still be a fuse and try to use OEM fuses not cheap aftermarket ones. That fuse was in there for a year never had a problem until the other day

    I'm surprised so many people don't look to the relay as the first source of the problem. I'm having the same problem. My signal will blink once, and then nothing. However, when I push the emergency/hazard switch, all the lights bling continuously, at a normal frequency. This makes me think it's either a faulty signal relay, or a faulty switch (the toggle stem switch on the steering column). The relay costs about 12.00 to 30.00 USD and easy to instal. The switch can be removed, inspected, without buying anything. Sometimes the switch connections are dirty, sometimes wires are loose. Some of the problems with the switch can be fixed by cleaning the connectors or repairing the wire connections. The switch costs about 40.00 to 90.00 USD.

      Castleclasher 80k yes that’s exactly what I experienced its a common fault, i thought it was the wires or the fuse box so i checked all the fuses and they were all fine, this is why i made the video to help others because its a simple fix because your relay fuse has died so change this and I’m 100% sure it will fix the problem. Hope the video helped thanks for the question.

      It's a terrible design, especially because that wire harness places a lot of pressure on top of the fuses and relays in that box. If you look at the bottom of the box, there should be a hex bolt with a phillips slot as well. If you remove that screw, the box will slide down a bit, to give you access to the relay. The little locking tabs on the relay are huge, so you have to pry the clips on the box away about a 1/8" to make room for pulling the relay.

    • @ShakilsStuff
      @ShakilsStuff 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hide Seek this was the one simple solution to my otherwise relentless issue. After unscrewing that phillip hex, i was able to slide the entire fuse box down to nearly the ground and was able to extract the stubborn ass relay.
