I tried using him for a bit but until they change that stupid orb change from 30 to 25 I’m just gonna continue running FTP Eren or butler Veldora. Not being able to use 4 skills every turn you need his orb change is awful. Especially since this team rarely needs you to run treyni or lumi in order to stay alive. And these are the main units who actually have 15 point skills you can still use on turns you use souei’s orb change. 9 times out of 10 running FTP Trya the best way to run the team and that makes him even worse. So close to perfection but no dice 😢
That would be great if they do. Not only would it make this Souei viable for vengeance, it would help newer players who likely only have access to older characters Edit: On an unrelated note. Imagine how insane EX Youm would be on vengeance if they gave him a 25 orb change instead of that weird 35 point triple orb change
Like I mentioned on the raid, his value in certain circumstances shouldn't be underrated. In the raid, the boss is magic, seals guard, and is type neutral. The neuters both Raphael's and Youm's guard, P-ATK down, and elemental resistances--all that's left is Raphael's ATK up seal (BTW, does that also seal M-ATK up?). What's left is what Souei is great for, DEF and ATK down. Yes, the 30pt orb change means he won't be on the team all the time, but he has a definite place. And considering you'd often be using his 15pt skill (or others like Treyni's or Izis's), that makes room for his 30.
Yes I do agree in certain circumstances the trade off would justify using him for sure. But at that point you could just bring EX Youm as well. Who does triple orange to green for 35 and raises def by 30 and crit res up by 40 (and for 3 turns instead of 2) Edit: But yes regardless he can be useful when Raphael and Youm are less useful. Just like running treyni or lumi on this team instead of trya

But even still, it's a tradeoff as Youm's DEF skill costs 25, and the orb change 35, meaning that casting both costs 60, so there's only room for 1x25pt skill. At least Souei's will only cost 45 together, leaving room for 2x25 pt skills. Plus Souei debuffs ATK and Youm buffs crir resist, so which is better is probably situational

This is a very fair point. I do want them to update the skill costs of the older units to be more in-line with current units.
