The Toasted (not included here🤔) is solid…I was pleasantly surprised. Tried it twice at 2 different nice Resturants, then I purchased a bottle and still enjoy it. I will get another bottle.
I love Penelope. I have all the bottles except the Rio and I can’t wait to get my hands on a couple of bottles. But then again I’m bias because my oldest granddaughter’s name is Penelope.
Passed on the Rose today and so many others as ran out of money 😂 Did get a lot of good bottles though. I like the Architect but I get it for 56-59 depending on store.
Only Rio bottles I have seen have been on reviews like yours. I like the Barrel Strength and Architechs that I have, which are build 3 and 6 Year Celebration. The Toasted has been getting good reviews. They are priced higher than I think they are worth. 🥃
Heading up to Louisville this weekend for the first time. What are some of your go to places for bourbon hunting? Not looking for anything rare or allocated, just good store picks?
Cox's/Evergreen, Liquor Barn, Total Wine, and Westport Whiskey & Wine. And don't forget Kroger. Kroger has the best prices, but all of these places don't try to rip you off the way the smaller stores do. Justin's, too, for picks, now that I think about it... Have fun!
Great game plan! Just randomly popping in to Louisville and finding allocated is almost impossible, but everyone visiting walks right past some great picks! Have fun and good luck! Who knows something allocated may just become available at the right time.
Agree with @graeme13 and @ryanandres8523 on both of these points. I also recommend visiting Old Forester, Mitcher's and Evan Williams gift shop as well. Good luck and keep us posted!
It’s Nah-raun-ha! 😂 I picked up a Valencia yesterday and saw some bottles of Penelope 15yr American Light Whiskey for just shy of $100. Have you guys tried this or own one? Only found reviews on last year’s which was a 13yo. Looking for feedback before buying. Cheers!
I'm a big Penelope fan. I really like their barrel strength. I haven't had the rose or Valencia, the architect was fine (the builds vary a lot), and I loved the Rio. Am shocked that you didn't like it. It might be an Amburana thing. You know how some people are predisposed to not liking cilantro? I think amburana is like that. There's no middle ground. But still surprised Dave didn't like it. Next up, you guys need to get your hands on the Tojaki finished rye. It's really complex.
@@Logan-te3iq we just got a Rio from one of my Subscribers. Did a Fresh Crack Friday Video on my Channel last night. It’s an AMAZING Bottle! Next week we are doing Valencia
Penelope Architect just taste like a number of different competing flavors that don't work well together. It also tastes young. It leaves me wondering why I paid $60 for it...and I'm not motivated to spend $60 to try a different one.
I don’t get the Rio craze. Bourbon for people who don’t like bourbon is one way to put it. Also, people who like Good Times, which is just flavored bourbon. I have some bourbons finished in amburana that were ok. The amburana/ honey combo doesn’t work, IMO.

Rose drinks so well after dinner it’s strawberry shortcake fell in my bourbon and I’m not upset also pairs well with chocolate and leather cigars

I love Penelope. I do hate the Rose Cask. What I want/need to buy is the special Marshmallow Toasted bourbon. It's not available in Illinois.
This Rio is a ghost where I'm at. Got to try it and it's the only bottle I look for these days. Bourbon releases like this keep bourbon exciting.

Did get a lot of good bottles though.

I bought 2 Rio’s for 85 each and traded them both for EHT Rye’s (a favorite)
Thanks for your honesty my dudes
Always bud!

Their barrel proof and toasted barrel proofs are bangers.

Thank you guys for all the advice! I just watched your bourbon haul video and will definitely check out those distilleries as well
You guys are Team Sean with the Rio. Dan loves it.
The toasted barrel proof is great, much better than Architect.

We haven't seen it yet but are interested in finding it and trying it.
I don't think the architect is great at $80, but I can get it for $60 near me and for that I think it's worth it to have a bottle on hand.

I’m on my second bottle surprised you guys didn’t really like it.
I Love Penelope! I’m Hunting a Rio for my Channel! Just found yours and Subbed.
Rio is bomb Just scored one yesterday under 100

Which is sweeter: Rio or Angel Envy Finished Rye?
Man that is a great question lol....Probably the rio but it is close

We bought the Toasted and wow is it spicy. Drinks HOT. Not a fan
I’m not a fan of amburana so I think I’ll not even bother with this bottle. Way too hyped up it seems much like most things Penelope does
Don't like em. Never enjoyed a single sip of theirs.

😂😂😂😂 Thats Rosé lol
Yeah close enough 😆 🤣 😂
