Agreed. I tell people, imagine if a Black kid arrives at a bigoted school of all White kids. They hate him and make fun of him. Then, it turns out he is a great quarterback and leads them to victory in a big game. THEN they like him. This is called a transactional relationship. Terrible lesson.

Oh, wait, supposedly he sees us when we're sleeping and knows if we're naughty or nice... Now I'm going to be wondering whether that applies to reindeer or only humans.
The other characters apologize to Rudolph BEFORE he becomes useful, though. Everybody reconciles and then there's a song number. The storm arrives after that.

Even if it did it could be argued they became nice for their own motives..the reindeer and santa were jerks in that movie and the reindeer were jerks in the song, the only good ones were his mother and his girlfriend who aren’t even mentioned in the song.

I honestly like the 1998 animated Rudolph movie so much better. Not only did it have more engaging characters, but Rudolph wasn't actually hated by absolutely everyone just for being different. His dad felt bad for him and said that the nose problem wasn't his fault, Santa helped Rudolph feel better, and he was banned from the reindeer games due to supposedly using his nose's brightness to cheat (though it was a reaction of anger when one of his classmates was taunting him saying the doe he liked only liked Rudolph because she felt sorry for him. Also it has songs that have stuck in my head more than the 1964 stop-motion film. If you haven't seen Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Movie, I think it's here on TH-cam. I highly recommend you give it a watch.

okay now I really want an honest trailer for Rudolph Saves New Year's and Rudolph and Frosty's Christmas in July these two are my favorite Christmas time guilty pleasures.
I actually remember watching the last Rudolph special they mentioned where Rudolph saves the New Year by rescuing a baby that will turn into Father Time with giant ears kidnapped by a giant vulture because the bird will turn into ice and snow. Rudolph saves him with a caveman, a knight, and Benjamin Franklin who ride on a whale to save the baby new year. Yea, I liked weird things as a kid.

I know it's popular now to talk about how this Christmas special sends the message you sing about in your parody; but while I love Honest Trailers, people who actually think this are missing the point of the RTRNR. The whole point of the story is overcoming adversity, learning to believe in yourself, to forgive, and to admit when you're wrong, and that it's *okay* to be different. Everyone right up to Santa apologizes to Rudolph *before* he's tapped to lead the sleigh. And Rudolph considers it an honor to do it! But you were spot on about Santa... he's a world-class grouch. Disagree completely. I grew up with this special, and it's incredibly disturbing. Here is Rudolph born with a difference, and Santa's acting like his reindeer parents should be ashamed of themselves for not offing him the minute he was born or at least warning Santa they'd given birth to a defective. Always found it deeply troubling and never felt that the ending made up for it. It's not as if Santa ever acknowledged he was wrong to act that way. At least in the song it's the other reindeer who are being jerks, not Santa.

cbs version sucks. they took the audio from we're a couple of misfits and put it to the fame and fortune video so it doesnt even match! you can hear sound skips all the time in the we're a couple of misfits part. it also doesnt have the peppermint scene.

I watched this show for the first time since I was a kid. I came to the conclusion that Santa was a DICK!!!! The elves are singing their little hearts out and Santa's sitting there bored and angry. He doesn't even compliment them. He just walks out giving them the backward floppy wrist while saying "Yeah. Yeah. Whatever. They suck. Keep trying guys!" Then he insults Rudolph's parents for giving birth to a freak of nature. His attitude is "Ugh!! Strangle it and try again next year you two!!". Santa is just a dick. (But Mrs. Claus is a saint)
But he's looking for silver and gold. In ice. (Yukon Cornelius is not the brightest bulb.) Anyway, metals DO have a taste. So it's not completely insane. (Though the pick should probably stick to his tongue.)

I tried to ask Screen Junkies, to make Honest Trailers for the Great Mouse Detective (30 year anniversary) and The Hunchback of Notre Dame (20 year anniversary). But sadly their anniversaries have passed and I don't think Screen Junkies is going to make an Honest Trailer for either one.
those movies were never big enough hits but Beauty and the Beast nearly won an Oscar for Best Picture back in the day and brought Disney back from the brink of bankruptcy (along with The Little Mermaid & Aladdin) Without Beauty and the Beast there would be no Star Wars reboot, Pixar or the MCU as we have it today. But I love those movies you mentioned.
Yeah but both movies need more love. The Great Mouse Detective is seriously underrated and could be seen as the prototype Disney movie, that would end up for bringing the Disney Renaissance. And Hunchback is underrated even though it's Disney's darkest/most adult film to date. And I can understand what your saying that they aren't as famed or beloved as the other Disney renaissance films. But I think that Honest Trailers would help bring more publicity to theses underrated movies. Plus think of all the jokes they could make about those movies.

No, I remember when I first watched the movie I wasn't prepared for it and it freaked me out when I was little. From then on, I remember I would always leave the room when I knew the yeti was going to be shown.
I only realized during this years viewing of this movie that Hermy doesn't have elf ears like the rest of the elves. Maybe that's the reason for the Will Ferrell hint.

I didn't realize until rewatching this a week ago that the Songs & Music for this movie were done by the same guy that wrote the original Rudolf song.
okay now I really want an honest trailer for Rudolph Saves New Year's and Rudolph and Frosty's Christmas in July these two are my favorite Christmas time guilty pleasures.
" At least it's not like they sent him back to dinosaur times to save New Years or something... --Oh come on!" Best part.
I actually remember watching the last Rudolph special they mentioned where Rudolph saves the New Year by rescuing a baby that will turn into Father Time with giant ears kidnapped by a giant vulture because the bird will turn into ice and snow. Rudolph saves him with a caveman, a knight, and Benjamin Franklin who ride on a whale to save the baby new year.

I know it's popular now to talk about how this Christmas special sends the message you sing about in your parody; but while I love Honest Trailers, people who actually think this are missing the point of the RTRNR. The whole point of the story is overcoming adversity, learning to believe in yourself, to forgive, and to admit when you're wrong, and that it's *okay* to be different. Everyone right up to Santa apologizes to Rudolph *before* he's tapped to lead the sleigh. And Rudolph considers it an honor to do it! But you were spot on about Santa... he's a world-class grouch. LOL
Disagree completely. I grew up with this special, and it's incredibly disturbing. Here is Rudolph born with a difference, and Santa's acting like his reindeer parents should be ashamed of themselves for not offing him the minute he was born or at least warning Santa they'd given birth to a defective. Always found it deeply troubling and never felt that the ending made up for it. It's not as if Santa ever acknowledged he was wrong to act that way. At least in the song it's the other reindeer who are being jerks, not Santa.

cbs version sucks. they took the audio from we're a couple of misfits and put it to the fame and fortune video so it doesnt even match! you can hear sound skips all the time in the we're a couple of misfits part. it also doesnt have the peppermint scene.

I watched this show for the first time since I was a kid. I came to the conclusion that Santa was a DICK!!!! The elves are singing their little hearts out and Santa's sitting there bored and angry. He doesn't even compliment them. He just walks out giving them the backward floppy wrist while saying "Yeah. Yeah. Whatever. They suck. Keep trying guys!"
Then he insults Rudolph's parents for giving birth to a freak of nature. His attitude is "Ugh!! Strangle it and try again next year you two!!".

I tried to ask Screen Junkies, to make Honest Trailers for the Great Mouse Detective (30 year anniversary) and The Hunchback of Notre Dame (20 year anniversary). But sadly their anniversaries have passed and I don't think Screen Junkies is going to make an Honest Trailer for either one.
those movies were never big enough hits but Beauty and the Beast nearly won an Oscar for Best Picture back in the day and brought Disney back from the brink of bankruptcy (along with The Little Mermaid & Aladdin) Without Beauty and the Beast there would be no Star Wars reboot, Pixar or the MCU as we have it today. But I love those movies you mentioned.
Yeah but both movies need more love. The Great Mouse Detective is seriously underrated and could be seen as the prototype Disney movie, that would end up for bringing the Disney Renaissance. And Hunchback is underrated even though it's Disney's darkest/most adult film to date. And I can understand what your saying that they aren't as famed or beloved as the other Disney renaissance films. But I think that Honest Trailers would help bring more publicity to theses underrated movies. Plus think of all the jokes they could make about those movies.

That can only mean somebody is controlling him while filming from behind the camera, directing him to do things. Like some sort of directing controller guy, if only we had a word that could describe someone like that...
