NewKidCo were mostly known for preschool games that usually weren't very educational. For example, their Dragon Tales game for GBC was a frustrating mess that not even an adult could finish, let alone a dumb kid that hasn't even learned how to read yet. Also, they weren't the developers of Goofy's Fun House, just the publishers. The game was actually developed by The Code Monkeys, who are mostly known for two things: ports (such as the Genesis port of Turrican and a Java phone port of Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow), and the Dingo Pictures movies disguised as minigame compilations.
I saw Goofy on the thumbnail and I thought it was going to be the Skateboarding game starring him and Max for PC. I don't think I have ever seen anyone talk about that game
I had Goofy's Fun House on PS1 when it came out and actually kind of liked it but I think it was just because you could unlock the old cartoons. I haven't played it in years and I no longer have my PS1 so I can't play the older games that I had. I haven't played any of the other games in this video so I can't speak for their quality. I do remember another Disney game on PS2 that I liked because it played similar to Mario Golf called Disney Golf. You just got to golf as Mickey and his friends.
7:26 I don't want to admit I played that as a kid, but I played that as a kid. And I've recently revisited a few months before watching this video, and the controls are even worse than I remembered. No wonder I could never beat it as a kid.
I loved Simba's Mighty Adventure as a kid. As a Lion King obsessed kid, the thrill I got from finishing the scar battle and seeing there was not only more game, but more game based on the second movie that had almost no media? Priceless.
The fact crap like this exists is probably the reason most gamers are male. Even as a kids game it's just dire. If I was told this was all I could play I wouldn't be happy either. I have a younger sister. I know how it goes with these "girl games" they'll play it. Say they enjoy it but then drop it very quickly and either ditch gaming as a hobby entirely or move on to play an actual game.
I believe Bell's Quest has no continues but a level select code. It's pretty short I remember finishing the game in maybe an hour where most of it was that maze level in the castle. I definitely think its the better of the 2 Beauty and the Beast games on genesis but thats not saying much.
I'm just gonna say it. For Episode 3 of Terrible Disney Games, one of the games you should cover is Gravity Falls: Legend of the Gnome Gemulets for the Nintendo 3DS. I've mentioned this before in my comment of the first Terrible Disney Games episode, but as someone who hates Gravity Falls for being such an un-Disney-like show, I knew the game was going to land on the "The Problem With Licensed Games" page on TvTropes. The game may have show-accurate graphics and dialogue, but it has extremely monotonous gameplay, boring music more fitting for a western, uninspired and recycled boss fights, and is far too easy, being beatable in approximately five hours. It also is low on the creepiness factor (which, in my opinion, is a blessing in disguise).
You should give a look at PK: Out of the Shadows, a game based on a panned reboot of a cult italian comic book where Donald Duck is a superhero. It was made in a well meaning but ill thought attempt to make the character more famous in America so that the comic could be translated... and maybe receive an animated adaptation. It flopped and alongside of some of the choices of the rebooted comic (like removing some of the most popular characters of the original comic and changing the backstory of one of them) caused the comic to be canned after 24 issues and the PK "brand" to go dormant for years.
@@sarafontanini7051 Only part of it, as far as I remember. Boom Comics translated some of the first issues of Paperinik New Adventures as Duck Avenger, but it was a flop. There are fan translations of them tho.

that Lion King game looks like they took the Tarzan game engine and some assets from, barely adjusted them with new models and sounds, took the Crash Bandicoot formula with that and said let's go.
... So is no one going to mention the out of place, Deviant or Furaffinty looking wall of muscle art that was in Goofy's Funhouse at 10:38? It was just so jarring to see.
Even Disney's somewhat descent games from the 90s have the problem of being overly difficult due to unfair and often, poorly implemented mechanics. I get that it was a thing in the 90s to make games more difficult, but come on, it's probably easier to beat Mario The Lost Levels than it is beating The Lion King without cheats.
10:22 If you want a little history lesson NewKidCo was known for publishing a lot of licensed games in the early 2000’s with properties ranging from Disney, Looney Tunes, Sesame Street etc. They actually made a pretty decent Tom and Jerry game called War of the Whiskers which is like a 3D arena fighting game similar to Power Stone.
Call me a masochist but I got original CD for the Goofy fun house, and completed it about 5 times to 100%. ... and the fishing game was the best, spent several hours playing just that. x)
I had a lot of enjoyment out of Goofy's Fun House as a kid. It wasn't good, sure, but the ability to watch full Goofy cartoons in semi-decent quality was a big deal back then.

The more you go down the bad kids game rabbit hole, the more of NewKidCo you will see.
The unlocking old cartoons to watch concept would probably fit well in an Epic Mickey game.
If a new one is ever made, that is.
