What I like about this video is how the characters are drawn, and how they act.. The beginning is funny.. The poor man wants to sleep and the woman, the maid wants to wake him up, and she tries to get him out of the house.. :))
The whole "Soirées Musicales" are pieces for voice and piano! They are meant to be chamber music. Rossini wrote them between 1830 and 1835, when he had already abandoned operatic compositions and was trying to reach a position in the romantic style. You can find some more informations about the "Soirées" on the italian Wikipedia -the german and english have no headwords about them...
No, it's not! "Dancerdarlingsance" was completely right: it's "La Danza" by Rossini, out of the "Soirées Musicales", just a little slower as it should be played. I'm pretty sure of this, because I played it and I know the score... :-)
Sorry. You are wrong. It's a transcription for piano of Rossini La danza. The words are: "Già la luna è in mezzo al mare, mamma mia si salterà". Rossini's La danza is called also La tarantella.
