    Great video!! I am a You Tube creator, and at the age of 50, I reinvented myself by losing 40 pounds and getting back to a size 4...... I sold my house, moved to Nashville, started a food blog, then a You Tube channel to help people lose weight and get healthy.... Changing my name for my You Tube channel has changed my identity...... I have become a totally new person, I look completely different ( from good diet, walking , and weight lifting)....... However, people in the the past that abused me have not been happy with me being confidant.....They prefer for me to walk around completely beaten down with my tail between my legs...... I have learned I do not have to have everyone like me, and the path to growth is to follow your Inner Spirit and be your True Self.....

      I feel this a lot.
      I actually realized it had a lot to do with not allowing myself to dream or believe that good things could happen to me. I was limiting myself from my dream by saying they were un achievable or impossible. Allow ur self the space and time to dream and wish
      Also a great way to see what u want to become is by thinking of who ur role models are and why? Example: If it’s ur aunt is it because she is a great mom, a successful business owner, a great singer, or because she is funny and happy?
      If it a celebrity, is it their fame, money, lifestyle, how they get to travel or hangout with cool people, is it their job or what they are good at?
      Also never be ashamed of any dreams, if u dream of having money it doesn’t mean ur a bad person for that. Don’t think ur dreams are any less valuable if they aren’t what others want either.
      Also if u still really don’t know what u want, i would say get out there and try things that interest you, and maybe something will come of that!

    • @Caroline12327
      @Caroline12327 2 ปีที่แล้ว +24

      If you want a tip :) look at your surroundings and look at others. What do you envy about their life and ask yourself do I want to have that too in my life? Or just look at celebs or athletes and their life.

    This is exactly what I didn't know I was searching for. Thank you so much.
    I've done this once before, years ago.
    In rehab for mental health issues the group teacher had us write down character traits we'd like to possess, then make a habit of asking eg:"would a patient/independant/healthy/ fill in the blank person do this" and I took it seriously, over the following year I changed my life and I became a different person. I balanced out, got control of my illness, got 3 promotions, bought a house, lost 40 pounds, turned my relationship in to a healthy and strong one, and learned how loveable I really am.
    I'm so excited to do this again, and take it to the next level.

  • @juliawashburn675

    I'm listening to this in the new year. But 6 months ago my life pretty much was falling apart
    I was in an unhappy boring and toxic relationship. I ended up leaving the situation and ever since then I am working on being more authentic and have better boundaries with people. It's been quite a challenge at times. What I did notice is there are times that I know I'm falling back to my old habits of people pleasing and not holding my boundaries. Then I have a reflection with myself and think about the situation at hand in a more long term way, would I want this to continue in this way for another year or two, most of the time the answer is no.
    So I have honored myself by cutting people off at the early sign of bullshit.
    I was seeing a guy that I wasn't sure if I wanted to continue seeing, he was cool, and checked a lot of my wish boxes. But then he displayed a few red flags. I had a talk with myself, and decided to cut him out of my life before it got anywhere else. I feel a bit sad because it means I have to start all over again in looking for a guy to date, but I don't have to deal with this guy's bullshit.
    I'm proud of myself.
    It is still a process though, because the feeling of lonineless and abandonment is still there. I just need to remind myself, I deserve better. And I will find better.
    I can't wait to see myself in another 6 months where I can confidently cut someone out of my life who doesn't belong and only have people who are the right fit for me.

    I changed my name a couple of years ago, not with the intention of changing my life, but to try to draw a line under an abusive childhood and marriage, and to prevent a persistent stalker, but it has had a profound effect on how I see myself and, coupled with a change of location, it has helped me to move forward in a more deliberate, planned way, rather than just plodding. Your video has helped me to recognise the psychology behind this, and make plans the future - thank you! Clara 💕

    I've watched many videos on reinventing yourself in 6 months, but none of them talked about the identity shift, which is SO important. Thank you for this video. I realize why I never made it through the "6 months challenge". I always wanted to change myself when the key is NOT to change yourself but to BECOME a new version of yourself because there are millions of versions of yourself that exist, you just have to embody whichever version you want aka shifting your identity.

I have reinvented myself, choosing only to move forward with my best qualities. In 6 months, I am not who I was in most ways, habits, lifestyle. I had a set back a few weeks ago, now I am listening to Jillz in order to get ME back. I focus on my HER. What is she like and how does she think.

    When I was a freshman in highschool, I started using my middle name as my first name out in school and in public. Using my second name in the outside world has helped me tap into my confidence and the version of myself I knew I could be. It was totally an alter-ego thing, which back then a lot of others had defined as a 'crazy person thing' but IT WORKED. It was the only method that brought me out of my shell was leaving my old identity behind.
    When you're young and your peers call you names or say hurtful things, it sticks with you and often gets taken on as a part of your identity.

    Video idea: could you maybe do a video about masculine energy that we women need to have sometimes (for example work, or sometimes family decisions etc) and how we women, can tap into our masculine side (tips, what to focus on etc)
    Just an idea 🥰

    Jillz I am so passionate about becoming the most radiant and responsible version of myself. Becoming the woman of our own dreams is an art form itself and we all need to master it. I am hoping to start a TH-cam channel soon to encourage and inspire women in their transformations. Do you have any advice you could give me that you wish you knew when you started? Thank you sister, I am wishing you so many blessings this summer.

    • @JillzGuerin
      @JillzGuerin  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ahh you should definitely start a TH-cam channel!! If you feel passionate about it, do it! My advice is to talk about things you’re passionate about and the right people will come. Also, it’s helpful to be consistent definitely but try not to stress too much about that. What’s more important is that you’re consistent over the long time, not exactly from week to week. Let me know when you start! Also if you have anymore specific questions you can always DM me on Instagram ❤️❤️

    I have changed ego names in different seasons of my life and the benefit is always short lived. Because... fictional persona me doesn't exist. However I exist and I am worthy of love and recognition in my own right. Always rebranding ends up being a way I refuse to love the fantastic woman that I am, flaws and all. I know I have periods of getting stuck when a major shift happens but guess what - it doesn't mean I am any less for it. I just have to find my footing again by reevaluating what I want, choosing a direction and adjust my daily habits to support it.

    Good points. But don't forget that you can't change yourself completly. It is an improvement for yourself to establish new habits, but identity and personality are to different things. When you try to change your personality by force it will make you very unhappy. Don't deny parts of your personality, especially your past. When you try to cast parts of you away, your mind and your body system will sooner or later try to stop you, which in a bad case can lead until depression. I think you can transform things in life, like being more structured, but you can't change completly, you can't deny, who you are. Rather you should accept, who you are and than you can start to transform the little things step by step. Please could you make a video, where you explain the difference between personality and identity? I think this is an very important aspect to talk about.

    There was a very strange feature in this case, strange because of its extremely rare occurrence. This man had once been brought to the scaffold in company with several others, and had had the sentence of death by shooting passed upon him for some political crime. Twenty minutes later he had been reprieved and some other punishment substituted; but the interval between the two sentences, twenty minutes, or at least a quarter of an hour, had been passed in the certainty that within a few minutes he must die. I was very anxious to hear him speak of his impressions during that dreadful time, and I several times inquired of him as to what he thought and felt. He remembered everything with the most accurate and extraordinary distinctness, and declared that he would never forget a single iota of the experience. ‘About twenty paces from the scaffold, where he had stood to hear the sentence, were three posts, fixed in the ground, to which to fasten the criminals (of whom there were several). The first three criminals were taken to the posts, dressed in long white tunics, with white caps drawn over their faces, so that they could not see the rifles pointed at them. Then a group of soldiers took their stand opposite to each post. My friend was the eighth on the list, and therefore he would have been among the third lot to go up. A priest went about among them with a cross: and there was about five minutes of time left for him to live. ‘He said that those five minutes seemed to him to be a most interminable period, an enormous wealth of time; he seemed to be living, in these minutes, so many lives that there was no need as yet to think of that last moment, so that he made several arrangements, dividing up the time into portions-one for saying farewell to his companions, two minutes for that; then a couple more for thinking over his own life and career and all about himself; and another minute for a last look around. He remembered having divided his time like this quite well. While saying good- bye to his friends he recollected asking one of them some very usual everyday question, and being much interested in the answer. Then having bade farewell, he embarked upon those two minutes which he had allotted to looking into himself; he knew beforehand what he was going to think about. He wished to put it to himself as quickly and clearly as possible, that here was he, a living, thinking man, and that in three minutes he would be nobody; or if somebody or something, then what and where? He thought he would decide this question once
    for all in these last three minutes. A little way off there stood a church, and its gilded spire glittered in the sun. He remembered staring stubbornly at this spire, and at the rays of light sparkling from it. He could not tear his eyes from these rays of light; he got the idea that these rays were his new nature, and that in three minutes he would become one of them, amalgamated somehow with them. ‘The repugnance to what must ensue almost immediately, and the uncertainty, were dreadful, he said; but worst of all was the idea, ‘What should I do if I were not to die now? What if I were to return to life again? What an eternity of days, and all mine! How I should grudge and count up every minute of it, so as to waste not a single instant!’ He said that this thought weighed so upon him and became such a terrible burden upon his brain that he could not bear it, and wished they would shoot him quickly and have done with it.’⁹

    So several months ago I decided that I'm going to introduce myself under a different name to people in nonofficial situations, because I was questioning my gender. That isn't exactly what the video is about, but I've noticed that I started acting differently in my personal life where I'd be called my new name. I thought that it might be because the new gender neutral name made me feel more comfortable, and partially it's probably true, but also I feel that it's really connected to creating an alter ego. It's become for me much easier to meet and talk to new people. I used to be a loner who didn't have anyone to talk to, and well, I still don't have much people with who I feel deep connection, but no one believes me when I say that a year ago I used to stay at home alone the whole time and couldn't even ask my classmates about homework or something 😅
