Nothing harshes a champagne buzz worse than having a flight cancelled. The worst part about this cancellation is the fact that you were going on a cruise and you are probably under a deadline to not miss the cruise departure plus your traveling companion was on a completely different airline. This is why people should always allow a buffer day when traveling that far to a cruise. I still love traveling and international travel in particular and I'm willing to put up with all the ups and downs to be able to do it and I love your vlogs. I am very much looking forward to the cruise vlogs.💜
I'm sorry about your life.many of my friends go thru that.but, it will pass and get better for you. You have a great life and travel and see things most don't or can't do. I flew for yrs. It was a blast. Have a great life. You have memories..😊
I was wondering where your bag was after the cancellation notice. Glad you got it back, able to check in to DL and you had a direct flight to Barcelona. Props for the last seat being an aisle.
Actually, I’m pleased you experienced the cancellation. We mortals deal with this every time we travel. Because it is international, it is more of a nightmare. I have learned to call the airline, immediately, to book another flight. I allow a buffer when traveling internationally so I just sorta go with the flow. I’m sure we’re due compensation for the cancellation. I enjoy your vlogs. Have a great cruise.
Thank you for sharing your beginning of you and great friend's trip. The First Class seats in Delta were cool. Going to the airline lounge before a long haul is always relaxing. But that cancelation of the Air France flight looked and was crazy!!! Well, making the Delta flight was a relax feeling even though it was the last seat!! You made it!!! Did Noel go to an air lounge to relax?? He had his international ticket with him? Hmm? But you two made it ti the hotel!! That was nice!!!!
Oh Francesco, this was a nightmare! You did amazing in such a short time to get rebooked on Delta, 😢 even though it was in coach, but silver lining is you reached Barcelona. Looking forward to your next vlog🙏🌊🚢⚓️
The way the airlines systems are these days it's amazing that people get to there destinations. I don't fly much. But what you went thru is a nightmare for sure. Glad you were able to make a flight. Have fun on your cruise.
We have a similar flight situation to catch a cruise out of Athens Greece in 3 weeks. We go Phoenix 6am to Chicago then Chi to Canada then Canada to Athens. I am soooo nervous about delays, cancellations and loosing luggage. We booked it thru cruise line and will be flying in the day before HOPEFULLY fingers crossed!
Wow…doing the non-rev thing can be such a nightmare because you have to be ready for anything. I think that last seat on AF was meant for you. Hope you have a blast on the cruise!
We are going to Barcelona next April, Booked our flight to Barcelona on Canada Air from Newark to Toronto to BCN Business class. So very excited for the experience
Omg that sucks 😢...the good thing is that you made it.... I love that first class lounge .... Nothing like the American airlines first class lounge that's for sure 😮... .hope you enjoy your cruise 😊
I am sincerely sorry for your inconvenience but the truth is that whenever I watch your lovely videos here in Nigeria, it actually lift up my spirit and urges me to return back flying as a cabin attendant, thanks a lot
I am currently in London and took UA from Denver. We left the gate in Denver early and a few minutes later the 787-9 had a problem. It turns out one of the computers crashed (Like Windows or what? lol ) A technician came on board and rebooted everything and we were off only 40 minutes late and arrived in LHR only 10 minutes late. It was a good trip in PE,
i hope AF can help you, remember the return , if you are booked on the same PNR, check with AF they may have canceled your return if you did nothing on the out bound
Bummer, I feel for you! But this is why you must book at least one overnight prior to a cruise, even from FL (unless you live in FL). But I am thinking that from a foreign port, flying at least 2 days prior to the cruise is better. Just think of what a regular passenger went thru. You are an airline employee and have a better grasp of what to do in these circumstances. But I would guess that most passengers are clueless as to what they need to do.
Hey buddy, very nice. Hey things happened for a reason. And that delta flight from JFK to Barcelona must've been on an A350-900? Very very nice. Please keep coming out with more vlogs!!
Ughhhh poor Francesco I know you must have been hustling through that terminal hopping over suitcases and all like the movies lol. Glad you made it safe to Barcelona and now its time for your cruise.
Ugh, hate when that happens. Luckily your quick thinking saved the day. Can’t believe we are missing you guys by a few weeks, we sail on the 18th. Will be watching for your updates.
What a total nightmare! That happened to me once going to Hawaii but I got lucky and got another seat in first class. At least you got to experience the Air France lounge! Have fun on your cruise Francesco. I’m very much looking forward to the vlogs ❤️✈️🛳️
Not poor planning on your part! That's just the nature of travel these days. Glad you made it there. And all things considered it wasn't too bad. (I have a friend that works for a competing airline. Oh my!! The stories he has from his international travels with cancellations and re-bookings! ) In regards to the lounges. For the past 8 straight years we have had a child in college in California. We usually take the red-eyes back to the East Coast where we live. It was always too late to use the lounges. But last week after graduation we left the next day. Was SO nice to be in a quiet space. Good food. Certainly could get used to traveling that way! Love the vids! Safe travels!
I've always flown to Europe 2-3 days ahead of my cruise for this reason. And I've always flown the airline with the most backup options for this reason. I'd say next time take the Queen Mary but she's had problems too!
Wow that's crazy Francesco. I remember in 2019, I was coming home from Italy, I took Air France....our flight from Paris to Chicago was supposed to leave at 2 pm, but it got delayed several times, and we didn't leave until 6pm.
i am so sorry you had to go through this. I remember me and my airline friend got stuck in Miami and I had his buddy pass. Flight was cancelled to LAX. It took us two days to get home and also the weather was super bad. Glad you made it and have super fun. Much love. Rickey
Glad you made it safely regardless of the headache to get there. I always try to book direct flights with one airline. I feel like they try harder to get you on one of their partner airlines of course you’re familiar with the One World Alliance since your airline is part of it.
What a bummer you didn't get to experience Business Class on Air France. But like you said, the main thing is that you made it to Barcelona. I hope everything is smooth sailing from here.
Thanks for the video! A couple of questions: 1) Why did you book the FLL-JFK segment separate? Was it cheaper than using your Delta points to use Delta straight through to your final destination because Delta and AF are code-share partners? 2) Should AF have automatically rebooked you to your final destination? United messes my plans up all of the time and they usually give automatically rebook me or I can text the customer service and they can do it for me.
It took Air France a couple of hours to automatically rebook me for three days later, which would've been too late for me to get to BCN. I ended up canceling and got a refund of my miles and taxes.
Can you let us know how much you paid for your standby airfare from NYC to BCN? Also, you mentioned AF had a good mileage offer? How many points did you initially redeem for that specific flight in business?
Francesco, great Vlog. Sorry you had to experience this but you MacGyvered you way through it. LOL. I had a question and apologies if you've answered this before but I just recently started watching. I noticed you used paper tickets. Any reason, vs using a digital ticket on an app? I know some have it as a back up in case the phone dies but I always found digital tickets easier and it's one less thing to keep up with and I've never had a problem of phone issues when using them. Thanks
As always, love your videos! Sorry your flight was canceled, but glad you made it to BCN? John isn’t joining you on the cruise? I’ll be heading to MAD and BCN this coming summer on AA from CLT. Glad that CLT-MAD has gone to daily, year-round!
What you should have did was go up to the concierge desk ..... And they could have helped you book on another flight... Instead of running around going to place to place.....FYI
Ugh! That sucks! Glad you made it to Barcelona. Can’t wait to see your Mediterranean cruise! P.S. We made it back from our very first cruise and it was AMAZING!
Omg what a nightmare! I also experienced the same thing, oddly enough, trying to get to a cruise! I landed in my layover city and then the next flight was cancelled. Thankfully, Houston has a second airport, so we Ubered to it to make it on a flight to Orlando, but that day was so exhausting. That was my first time experiencing something like that. I was so stressed (I’m getting anxiety just thinking about it). At least you made it and now get to enjoy! Have a fun and safe cruise!
Im so sorry your AF flight got canceled, the crew was expecting you, and they went deadheading on the next and last flight of the day! I’m glad you could make it standby on DL!!! If you knew as you were early at JFK you could have tried an earlier flight? But you couldn’t know then! And yes always better to arrive the day before boarding the ship!!! Now you can relax and enjoy Valient Lady!! ❤️
Hey Francesco! Got the reason why your flight to CDG got canceled! Went they took off from CDG the aircraft lost a component of the landing gear and were still able to land at JFK but not allowed to take off again as it couldn’t be fixed then and the aircraft is still at maintenance at JFK!
I hate connections for this reason, cancellations. You were so lucky you could get the last seat on Delta…yea! I’m doing AF to Geneva in the fall and Delta home from London. I have to connect in Paris. Praying all goes well. Last year was on BA, and our flight was cancelled a week before the trip and we had to rebook to a different flight which threw everything into a tailspin but quick thinking on my part and an aviation background, I was able to get it sorted pretty easily but even our new flight was severely delayed and we almost lost our connection to Geneva in London. They were waiting for us, but it was scary. I got Covid while in London so was stuck because of the testing mandate. The mandate was lifted a few days later and I was able to come home after a week of being stuck. I used points to fly AA business class and it was amazing! Using Delta points for this trip this year but saving up my AA points for 2 business class seats to Geneva in 2025. Half way there!told my sister about Virgin cruises and that’s what I want to try next. Looking forward to your vlog! Hopefully you’ll get AF business coming home?
Non-revving makes me nervous lol. My ex was a DL FA and he always tried to use his buddy passes for me. International worked pretty well but domestic was always a nail biter as to whether I'd get a seat. Sucks you had to sit in coach to BCN! Hope the rest of the tip is smooth & you guys have a great time!
Francesco, how did it feel to be the passenger? If I remember correctly, the air train no longer goes to T1 due to upgrades of the termina, which began around mid April 2023.
Yep! No Airtrain, so had to take a shuttle to T1 😊 Being a passenger is always very eye opening and helps me really put myself in my passengers shoes. So I love to experience being a real passenger every now and then 😊
I'm surprised you had to fly standby on Delta when you were confirmed on AF. I'm wondering why AF didn't protect you on DL... unless you decided to get the AF refund and chose the ZED on DL. At least it was nonstop to BCN!!! YAY. Ok.. Watching the rest of your vlog now... P.s. ok.. I'm now seeing your explanation of what happened. I commented too soon. Lol
A man who can handle problems in life! I think that's amazing!!
I can hardly wait for your next video!
It’s not poor planning, the flight cancellation couldn’t be predicted! Luckily you thought fast and got on another flight though so we’ll done 😊
Nothing harshes a champagne buzz worse than having a flight cancelled. The worst part about this cancellation is the fact that you were going on a cruise and you are probably under a deadline to not miss the cruise departure plus your traveling companion was on a completely different airline. LOL my champagne buzz was gone the minute i saw "Canceled"! 😂 Luckily, I made it! Next time I might give myself some more time 😊
Wow !!!I cannot believe u thought DELTA FIRST CLASS was great .they are horrible !!
Sorry that you went through all of that travel commotion/distress.......
Hope you all enjoyed the rest of your travels.......
11:45 you done well planning ❤❤ Europe + Asia flights rarely get cancelled 😮😮
Oh my friend. I am so sorry for the stress. I think you showing what travel is like as a guest is very comforting. Have a magical time❤️❤️
I'm sorry about your life.many of my friends go thru that.but, it will pass and get better for you. You have a great life and travel and see things most don't or can't do. I flew for yrs. It was a blast. Have a great life. You have memories..😊
I'm a LOYAL DELTA flier.....but I like American Airlines as well. Glad you made it to Barcelona in time for you cruise. Have a great time!!!
Stressful start, but at least you got there. Enjoy the cruise. 😊
I was wondering where your bag was after the cancellation notice. Glad you got it back, able to check in to DL and you had a direct flight to Barcelona. Props for the last seat being an aisle.
The gate agent in Barcelona was cute.

John is not coming?
I’ve written the AirTrain many times ,and especially of course to Howard Beach station.
Hi Francesco - glad you made it safely, both you and Noel❣👏Great video as always. Have a great time👍🏼💫
Your luggage 🧳 looks amazing. Love the colors of it .
Actually, I’m pleased you experienced the cancellation. We mortals deal with this every time we travel. Because it is international, it is more of a nightmare. welcome to barcelona, enjoy your cruise in the mediterranean!!
The buses in Barcelona from the airport are great… went before Covid and it was €5 euro !!! Sorry about your flight ✈️
Have a fantastic cruise you guys made it either way 😊😊
Safe travels. Looking forward to your Virgin Cruise vlogs. Have an amazing day! Cheers.
Thank you for sharing your beginning of you and great friend's trip. The First Class seats in Delta were cool. Going to the airline lounge before a long haul is always relaxing. Oh the suspense and drama, 😁 But you have the cruise to look forward to.
You are so positive! I would’ve had a break down 🤣 glad you guys got there safe!
Oh Francesco, this was a nightmare! You did amazing in such a short time to get rebooked on Delta, 😢 even though it was in coach, but silver lining is you reached Barcelona. Looking forward to your next vlog🙏🌊🚢⚓️
Looking forward to these videos! Glad you were able to get a DL flight to BCN.
Glad you made it!
Oh my goodness what a day! I could never handle that much stress.
Looking forward to seeing the rest of your journey. Chuck/Steve

Oh I would have been so stressed. I’m glad you made it.
Enjoy your cruise, it should be fantastic.
Sorry to hear what happened to you! but you managed to get to Barcelona!
Have Fun! Yay
Glad you made it
I stayed in that exact hotel back in 2019 it’s such a pretty hotel & view
It’s a lovely hotel! I would definitely stay there again!
Have a wonderful cruise Francesco … !!! Greetings from Jersey !
That seems like a nicer Air France lounge than IAD.
I am do happy that you were able to make the Delta flight! Especially with going to Europe.
I'm glad you ended that relationship I wanted to say something much earlier but I couldn't. Blessed love
We are going to Barcelona next April, Booked our flight to Barcelona on Canada Air from Newark to Toronto to BCN Business class. So very excited for the experience

As a flight attendant I really love your videos it's so inspiring 😍 I would like to make videos like you on near future 🙏
Where's John? So sad he didn't go.
Nice video! Only question I have is how did you friend get away with the carry on bag? Absolutely ridiculous people carry on bags this big!
I am sincerely sorry for your inconvenience but the truth is that whenever I watch your lovely videos here in Nigeria, it actually lift up my spirit and urges me to return back flying as a cabin attendant, thanks a lot

Francesco, we stayed in the same hotel prior to our Virgin cruise. Hope you tried the dining room for your evening and breakfast.
Sorry you had a rough day, flying ✈ to Spain 🇪🇸!! But you guys made it there!! Anyway enjoy your trip!!
🥺 How stressful!!!😰
Love delta airlines and glad you got to make it to Europe
Not poor planning on your part! That's just the nature of travel these days. Glad you made it there. And all things considered it wasn't too bad. (I have a friend that works for a competing airline. Oh my!! The stories he has from his international travels with cancellations and re-bookings! )

Yes! Airport lounges can be so relaxing before a flight! So glad you got to enjoy it 😊
How many miles to flight Business class on Air France from NYC to Barcelona?
Love the Renaissance Fira ❤
I've always flown to Europe 2-3 days ahead of my cruise for this reason. And I've always flown the airline with the most backup options for this reason. I'd say next time take the Queen Mary but she's had problems too!

You could get the train from the airport in to Barcelona, it’s not expensive
Glad you made it safely regardless of the headache to get there. I always try to book direct flights with one airline. I feel like they try harder to get you on one of their partner airlines of course you’re familiar with the One World Alliance since your airline is part of it.
Exactly LeighL, I always Book with Delta/United and stick with them.
What a bummer you didn't get to experience Business Class on Air France. But like you said, the main thing is that you made it to Barcelona. I hope everything is smooth sailing from here.
I was so sad I didn't get to experience Business Class on AF! I guess i'll have to try it some other time 😊
I had that burger w/ onions in First coming back from Tampa and it was SOOO GOOD.
Where’s John?
I wonder what happened to the Air France flight?
Thanks for the video! A couple of questions: 1) Why did you book the FLL-JFK segment separate? Any reason why you fly delta when you work for AA?
Can you let us know how much you paid for your standby airfare from NYC to BCN? Also, you mentioned AF had a good mileage offer? How many points did you initially redeem for that specific flight in business?
That bus in Spain called accordin bus cause of the middle of the bus

The airline automatically printed my ticket when I checked my bag in. I usually will use the digital ticket on the app 🤗
Francesco what were those meals you and Noel were being served?
You made it I worked for Delta years ago I get it Enjoy!!!!!! Robert Brewer INDY!!!!
As always, love your videos! Sorry your flight was canceled, but glad you made it to BCN? John isn’t joining you on the cruise? I’ll be heading to MAD and BCN this coming summer on AA from CLT. Glad that CLT-MAD has gone to daily, year-round!
I Believe It!
What you should have did was go up to the concierge desk ..... And they could have helped you book on another flight... Instead of running around going to place to place.....FYI
As a flight attendant, do you earn miles when you are working? or earn Hotel points? Just wondering.
Unheard that a intl flt is cxl.probably mechanical.
Glad you were able to get to Barcelona after that nightmare of a travel hiccup.
Ugh! That sucks! Glad you made it to Barcelona. Can’t wait to see your Mediterranean cruise! P.S. We made it back from our very first cruise and it was AMAZING!
I'm so glad you enjoyed your first cruise!! 😊 🚢
Don’t cross that open space for
the shower lol… Have a great cruise guys….Francesco you’re adorable…

Sounds like a stressful experience as well! I guess we all must go through this at some point in our life 😊
Have you ever flown Qantas mate?

Hey Nicolas! Thanks for letting me know! So sad I didn't get to fly AF. But hopefully one day, I will get to try the new business class cabin 😊
@@LIFEbyFrancesco im sure you will and I will be at your service! 😉

Im glad you made it to Spain but what happens to your canceled flight ticket? Do you get a refund a future flight voucher?
Why didn't you fly AA?
Wow very stressful
Francesco, do you use a VPN and if so which one?
Lol
Wow stressful 😮 but at least you gave yourself plenty of time to get to your cruise. Could have been a lot worse 🤔
