Thank you! I loved this. It had so many practical ideas like mini-cleaning as you go and water repellant spray for shower doors and tiles. I really appreciate this information. Wish I'd known it 52 years ago when I first got my own home! 🎉
What recommendations are there for those of us who need to use baby powder (corn starch) after showering? I have a towel that I stand on but powder settles on almost everything. The exhaust fan pulls it up but doesn't remove it from the air. I have dark colored imitation wood floors and between the powder and cat litter crystals, I have to swwep at least once a day. I have chronic fatigue syndrome and it's tiring. Cleaning the sink, toilet, and tub/shower is an ingrained habit. It's the floor, especially, and a rolling wire cart with my shampoos, etc., that stand out the most. I know I should get rid of the wire rack cart, but the good thing about the rollers is that when I mop the floor it's easier to roll around and mop sections. My bathroom is quite small so I have to move several things to clean the floor. I'm in an independent living facility so I can't install anything like wall shelves.
You don't need four or five different coloured bottles to prevent cross contamination, ridiculous; Just one good toilet gel, (White King is best) and a surface spray for the bench. I use Windex for my shower.
No tiles in my bathroom. Good quality vinyl on floor and shower panels. So easy to keep clean, no grout whatsoever.
Thanks for sharing
Hope it helps@@goldenyears101

How about a cleaning service ? It's our golden years after all.
The science behind this seems solid, but is it realistic for elderly people?
Living in the Upper Rhine area where water is very Calcium -Rich I have to put vinegar( the 20% acidified one !) every two days!
Great tips, but do we really need to know if the people are retired teachers, carpenters, botanists, etc.?
They make it sound snobby; no we don't need to know, nor do we care.
Relatability. Real people with real ideas
Good question
