People need to understand that this is a sparring match, not a full on serious battle. Goku and Gohan are test out each other's abilities and forms.

They weren't trying to kill each other, but the official website said they were both fighting at full power.
@@SenjiroAkechi Exactly, they were both confirmed at full power. It may not be serious but when one person "just sparring" can knock the other person out of their most powerful form and Goku hitting Gohan with the speed earlier only shocked Gohan, he showed zero signs of pain or damage.
Gohan is clearly stronger.

Mind you it is possible for Goku to win but he would need to clear a few conditions to do so.
1. Critical hits that can cause lasting damage on Gohan or one big attack. One big attack is out of the question as Goku can not keep Gohan away since their speed is relative. Critical hits still wouldn't come close to one tapping Gohan as a surprise full body kick from behind only shocked Gohan, showed no signs of pain. I am sure Goku could cause some critical damage if need be but it would be ungodly difficult.
2. Stay away from Gohan. Gohan showed the speed to catch Goku. he literally can not risk close quarters combat with Gohan because one or two hits can make him Drop UI. He can't really create a ton of distance with Ki either as Gohan has shown the durability and energy to just power through. Honestly he would probably have to spam instant transmission like he did against Beerus in battle of gods.
3. Make sure that each exchange he drains Gohan more than he gets drained and he might be able to get a speed advantage when Gohan tires out. Goku has done this and experienced this type of battle before so it might cross his mind but the risk would be insane.
Honestly if Goku would be able to beat Gohan it would be such a extreme diff fight that it would be hard to justify. Possible but hard to imagine.
Gohan literally just has to make sure he sets Goku up so he can land one blow, and just follow up instead of letting him get back up and power up again. This was something he already did in the fight so this doesn't involve head cannon unlike imagining Goku winning.

The match was made to show both Gohan and Goku's abilities. And Gohan landing a hit on Goku was the only way to demo this.

@kywxkk Gohan didnt beat him but he did display more inpressive feats in the fight. Goku comment about it not being about winning is saying its okay not to finish the fight. The official dragonball website confirmed that Goku and Gohan were going full power even though of course they werent trying to kill each other

Something that people also miss is that Gohan grazed Goku several times before landing the punch, AND THEN landed a kick immediately afterward

They just stick with "Goku took no damage (even though goku was getting cut up by Gohan's fist and goku literally saying, "ouch!!!" *Crying and falling back to base form*) 😂

Yeah, it was drawn in the way that Gohan, after powering up, was getting faster and faster after each strike.
I almost took it like Goku was not expecting him to be that fast.

People think that because Goku blitzed Gohan and landed more shots, that Goku won, but they weren't paying attention to the fact that Gohan took no damage at all
Neither did Goku. 🤷🏾♂️ If there was any damage on Goku, it wasn't minimal.
They both had somewhat the same reaction goku had to wipe/rub his face when he finally got hit and so did gohan and they both had very little scratches on them so you can’t say that, goku landed more hits throughout the fight so he wins

I like how Broly studied what Gohan said about building his chi up to almost losing control. Goku noticed Broly's reaction and figured it would maybe help him learn to control himself.
Gohan is a Ferrari of power, but the true test is going to be keeping up the endurance and stamina of that boosted-beast form.
What's wild is none of Goku's attacks even scratches Gohan whereas Gohan's attacks are actively showing on Goku, in all honesty Gohan might've won if they fought to win.

With Broly learning to do what Gohan did, it is clear he has way more energy to go further than where he is as Super Saiyan. Gohan has the same thing because they both stopped their transformation just before losing control. So they both can go further.
As for gather energy as Gohan did, that isn't the same as doing so for energy blasts or a super punch. That super punch I will mention after...
What Gohan did is dug deep into his energy reserves just before going full beast hulk and all. He did this to increase his capabilities, most specifically, his strength and speed.
That said, 17 did this against Piccolo and Piccolo against 17.
Recoome and the Ginyu Force this as well, allbeit not as profound.
And Vegeta does it twice, once to attack Buu hand to hand and other to explode.
So Gohan's move was all about speed and power. The results speak to it.
Yes he is the one which can surpass him on raw power. But just like Goku has an advantage on technique and exp over gohan, Gohan has the same over Brolly. But Brolly normal SS seems to be able to approach beast levels of power,and his berserk one should be able to surpass beast.
I think people tend to forget Goku and Vegeta themselves are at a mastery of martial arts where they sometimes teach through sparring and questions (Vegeta and Cabba, for example). Jiren sort of did the same when Golu reached UI and he asked about his fighting philosophy. Also, they're sparring lol

Can we all acknowledge how good of a teacher Piccolo is to get Gohan to that point in his Beast form? I hope when they come back with the manga, we can see Orange Piccolo after training go up against MUI because Piccolo is a genius fighter and might be able to use that skill to keep up
Honestly from an in universe perspective if they ever allowed piccolo to learn both ultra instinct and kao Ken, then he'd be op in the series. But, that would mean taking away shine from the saiyans every fan loves so much, and we cant have that.

Here me out frieza did eliminate frost from the Tournament of power, but he never said frost was weak just does the Frieza thing by betraying someone for his own goal. So frieza was known to be training in the Hyperbolic Time chamber for 10 years in another Universe. Frost is constantly being hunted down by Hit frustrated that he doesn't have the strength to fight back finally reached out to frieza. They meet up and train together. Now with what we know all of these saiyans are training with each other...leaving out piccolo. Which makes me think Vegeta has not forgotten his promise to meet the Universe 6 saiyans. Since frost is from Universe 6 and well he hasn't had any luck really being close to the power of Frieza so that he could possibly be the strongest in his Universe. He and Frieza will find value in the planet of the new Saiyans and proceed to take it over. This is just a what if thing but it only seems right if they head in this direction.
The fight to me is like this. There’s a variable of different ways to approach a fight in Dragon Ball now. You can either win with power + skill & experience or power + talent & prodigal ability. Goku and Gohan can go either way as they are both relative to one another. But finishing a fight is important, and Goku may win in that factor due to his experience factor over Gohan.
While i don't agree with how gohan got his power we needed to see his training i do i got to say this fight simply shows in terms of power gohan is the strongest his beast is a 10/10 in power but his technique is a 4/10 while goku's MUI has a power of 5/10 but his technique is a 10/10 because beast draws power while mui improves goku's fighting technique so i can see gohan being #1 if he keeps up with his training while goku and vegeta stay equals ( btw the 4/10 and 10/10 thing was just an example)

Goku is faster in terms of reaction speed due to his ui hax while gohan is faster in movement speed. At the end of their match though gohan surpassed gohan in speed category.
You remember when tien held cell with essentially force pushes? What goku did to gohan proved nothing, I see too many cling to that. Goku passed the torch to gohan because he knows gohan easily will get ahead. Him and broly take top 2. Then it's goku then it's vegeta to me. Only cuz of their legendary potential
So Goku is smacking gohan around for half the chapter, gohan gets a couple good hits in on a couple panels, and people choose to believe GOHAN is stronger? Dude. There’s just no convincing people. Did Goku knock Gohan out of Beast? Because Gohan did knock Goku out of UI... As the video says, he could have killed Goku when he was on bbefore he went back to UI. People don’t realize what Gohan form is essentially this Beast form doesn’t have any limits in turn of power so basically as long as Gohan body can withstand the power output his form doesn’t have any limit so basically have infinite potential to his form
Yep, Gohan's Beast form is limitless/boundless just like Ultra Instinct/Ego.
Goku stated he was just testing Gohan… that clears up that he was NEVER trying to wipe the floor with Gohan.
Goku was surprised at how strong Gohan got in that burst. But was clearly able to knock Gohan back effortlessly when he wanted to tell Gohan he’d seen enough.
Goku never went full power and intent. It’s pretty clear he just wanted to see what Gohan could do. Goku never charged up and said “okay I’m giving it all I’ve got”, which is something he does in character
The official dragonball website confirmed that Goku and Gohan were going full power the statement Goku made simply meant there wasn't a point in finishing the fight because it wasn't about getting a winner or loser

It was done unconsciously. 2nd Goku/Beerus/Whis all stated that Goku's full power was being used with Silver UI. Whis even stated in chapter 71 that Silver UI is a form Goku uses when he needs to surpass his limits. He's literally not holding back power wise. Silver UI doesn't even allow that.
Gohan is physically stronger than Goku, and if it came down to a deadly fight, Gohan is capable of literally negging Goku's best technique. Goku might be able to pull out some tricks so he won't go down easily.

If Goku was holding back, he would've amped it up even more when Gohan got faster and faster. He was shocked for a reason. And so were Beerus and Whis. Plus Gohan KEPT fighting back to back whereas Goku rested. It just looks like Goku wasn't trying because he was defensive but he definitely put in effort to dodge Gohan attacks and it didn't prevail.

1. Black Freeza blindsided Goku and Vegeta when they were not 100% and Gas was basically falling apart.
2. It's also mentioned that Gohan can bring himself to almost snapping in order to power up and control himself, implying that what we see from Gohan isn't the full power of Beast, only what he can use controlled.
I think that there's more to this to be explored, it's just being saved for another time.

Neither Toriyama nor Toyotaro have made further statements about Black Freeza and all we know of his power is blindsiding and knocking out a battle worn Goku and Vegeta and a Gas who was practically falling apart despite his rising ki. Time has also passed so the Goku Black Freeza blindsided isn't the same one Gohan fought.
I'm not saying anything for certain, but it seems that either Gohan as he is now is stronger than Black Freeza or the full power of Beast will be.

Let me clarify. With Jiren maxed out and UI Goku maxed out, wasn’t Goku having a hard time beating Jiren until Goku was able to recoup energy? What you see here in the manga is Goku is more refined in UI and it took beast Gohan to power up more just to LAND 1 shot on Goku UI lol. This would mean Gohan is displaying power levels at equal or higher than Jirens. Gohan for sure is powerful and probably surpassed UI. We haven’t got far yet to see Beast maxed out yet.

Goku seemed to have the most control during the fight. He made all his hits count. Gokue definitely earned more points. I don't see how anyone could say Gohan won and I'm a Gohan fan. I don't believe he knocked out of UI. I think Goku gave Gohan credit for pulling off the ability to hit him in UI. There was no loss on any side. Just an endearing spar. I also wanna point out how easy it was for Goku to see Gohan away and casually speak in the end. It personally makes me feel like goku could do alot more if he tried. Still just a spar guys but Goku had more control.
Thanks, the fact the Goku just casually looks over to notice Broly's reaction and just say "Alright get out of my face" with the pulse attack, showed me that Goku was more in control of the fight than a lot of people are giving him credit for.

We've seen what the narrative is like when Gohan surpasses his father. Just look at the Cell saga. The feeling was completely different: everyone blatantly acknowledged Gohan's superiority and it truly felt like he had no competition at all. However here? I don't recognize or see that. UI Goku and Beast Gohan are on par with each other; both have ups and down. Goku acknowledges his son's strength but we never get the feeling Gohan has truly surpassed his father, in the sense that in a real battle Goku would likely win more often than not
Vegeta’s comment pretty much sums it up, there’s a massive gap in experience, goku had ui much longer than beast for gohan.

Because it's not the same situation, nor is where it's meant to progress to the same. In the Cell arc was the moment Toriyama made Gohan the protagonist and removed Goku; that was the whole point. Here Gohan still has surpassed Goku, but not for the purpose of replacing Goku. Yes, it feels different because it is different, but that doesn't mean that Gohan surpassing Goku didn't happen.

I wouldn't say knocking Goku out of UI is any sort of W. Or even just landing one blow when Goku landed multiple. Especially when Silver UI io based on how calm Goku can keep his heart in that version. If his mentality or mental state is disrupted or falter is even just a moment it'll deactivate. It's not quite the same as getting knocked out of Super Saiyan blue or any of those lower forms.
But yeah, all this has proven is that Gohan can fight at those levels and that neither of them won.
Beast Gohan being able to knock out of UI is a very impressive feat since someone like Gas wasn't able to.

In chapter 102 it says that both were holding back and in 103 it confirmed both went all out, we know they did because both of them powered up in the chapter, the only ones saying otherwise are those with biases for their favorite fictional character. It doesn't matter about their techniques, neither one used any of them during the match. It was a physical fight and Goku at full power did little to no damage to beast Gohan, He didn't slow him down or knock him out of his beast form. Beast Gohan with two hits Knocked Goku out of UI and was faster than him in PUI, Vegeta confirmed it as well.

At the end of the day you can make arguments on both sides,but for Gohan you have to interpret things with a hint of bias.

What a good father-son moment for em. Gohan comin into his own, finding the confidence to train that anger into his skill; Goku, experienced, connecting with his son in his practice and passion, and frequently, duty. Nothin at risk, nothin to lose, just seeing where his son's at where he most naturally knows where to look. Goku stopping the fight was another fatherly/mentoring moment; that moment, he realized Gohan might just be the best teacher for someone Goku has taken on to mentor. Kinda like Uub, right. I think Goku is gonna find himself as an Angel (unofficial or otherwise). Vegeta though.. It was just that Goku was surprised that Gohan can bypass the invasion of UI and started to think what happened due to which he instinctively went out of UI. So no no one won but Goku would have probably won cuz of his speed, experience and battle iq.
