It was constructed in phases between 1972 and 1979, at a cost of £100 million.[4] Manchester Arndale is the largest of the chain of Arndale Centres built across the UK in the 1960s and 1970s. It was redeveloped after the 1996 Manchester bombing.
The centre has a retail floorspace of just under 1,400,000 sq ft (130,000 m2) (not including Selfridges and Marks and Spencer department stores to which it is connected via a link bridge), making it Europe's third largest city-centre shopping mall.[5] It is one of the largest shopping centres in the UK, with 41 million visitors annually,[6] ahead of the Trafford Centre, which attracts 35 million

Yes and the largest UK City Center Shopping Mall is the Birmingham Bullring/Grand Central Shopping Center with the Bullring open market and the largest Primark shop in the world in Birmingham

That’s incorrect, Manchester’s Arndale centre is far larger - The bullring has 160 shops and attracts around 36 million shoppers per year, the Manchester Arndale has 240 shops and attracts around 41 million shoppers per year. The Birmingham Primark is larger 160,000 sq feet as opposed to Manchester 150,000 which was the largest in the world before Birmingham opened.

@@rufdymond Sorry mate, but since the Bullring Center and Grand Central joined together as one shopping Center, the Bullring /Grand Central Shopping Centre has 374 shops consisting of 160 shops in the Bullring and 214shops in the Grand Central shopping Centre both joined together and under one ownership plus the open air fruit and Veg Market, the Rag Market and Fish Market,and the Birmingham Primark is the biggest in the World which took over a whole shopping center as advertised by Primark them selves
