One of the points about the music and musicians of the 60's and 70's was that the space between the players mattered. Preserving the spaces between the musical notes mattered. This medley illustrates that point afresh for 2023. Sterling keyboard and guitar work there. I could really imagine these songs growing with an audience responding to them.
Absolutely outstanding. I dare say Jerry and Pigpen would both be grinning and toe tapping to that. Listening on a phone, I want to ask, would it be possible to bring the bass up in the mix? Super talented group of musicians, you sound great
I've been listening to the Grateful Dead almost daily since 1980. As often happens when a band covers their songs my initial reaction is to compare what I am hearing to what I am expecting to hear - which doesn't sound good. When I can drop expectations, I can listen to whether the band is grooving. I like this video!!
Absolutely no disrespect to Tristan Ferner, who kicks major ass here, but can you guys get Huntley McSwain back to sing lead on Sugaree into Midnight Hour into Mr. Charlie into Hard To Handle into Turn On Your Lovelight or something similarly mind-boggling? I can't even imagine how she would tear those songs up after hearing her absolutely slaughter Ramble On Rose / Bird Song. You guys should put out an album of Dead stuff -- never heard better covers of Dead material!
Who covers Viola Lee Blues in 2023?? With a keyboard solo??? Into Bertha?? Jer and Pig are grinning ear to ear, don’t tell me this town ain’t got no heart!
This band is simply the best and especially over the years of contributions. Love them more than the original versions by Bob, Phil, Jerry, Bill and the rest...
