I tried to upload a program from m221 but the option to upload from plc to pc was locked, any idea? There was also a message about that the program in plc and pc were not the same

@iggaming178: Somachine is the old software. Schneider has changed it to the new software named Machine Expert 2-3 years ago. If your controller has a newer firmware with the later software Machine Expert, you will not be able to see it in the old Somachine software. You might have to install the new Machine Expert. @hfe18: I do not have the link. I got a usb drive with the software when we bought SoMachine from our vendor. I think you are right that they removed the SoMachine download link to encourage people to use the new software. SoMachine is replaced with EcoStruxure Machine Expert. It is almost the same as SoMachine but I had to buy it again to be able to support our customer. Because it is almost identical to SoMachine, unfortunately I do not have any video about EcoStruxure Machine Expert. Hopefully this answers all your questions or at least provides you some helpful information about the replacement of SoMachine. Thank you for subscribing to my channel.
@hfe18: You can use a usb cable to download a program with the IP address set in the "Devices Tree/Ethernet 1 OR Ethernet 2" @6:00 in the below video. @Weerapong Suanto: I did have a history of programs I worked on but it should not affect the procedure as I did not click/select anything from the history. The key is if you PC sees the controller, after you click "Refresh" at 0:47, your controller should be popped up in "Connect Controller". You also need to make sure the controller is NOT locked AND the program stored in the controller is NOT password protected. Otherwise, your PC can see/detect the controller but you will not be able to do anything on the controller such as upload/download. Thank you for subscribing to my channel.

After upload and login its showing a box containing " an unknown version of application is currently in run mode ...... " So if i give yes will the controller go to stop mode ?

I took the upload from it and while opening the uploaded project it asks to upgrade the project and after that while going online that is login it's showing a box containing this message "Warning: An application 'Application' is currently in RUN mode on the PLC. As there is no matching compile information, this existing application needs to be replaced. Click Yes to download the latest code or 'No' to abort." What can I do now if I give yes will it affect the configuration and parameters already set in the program in the controller or it remains same without any problems ? Please tell me or I want to use same v4.2 for going online. I searched for it but not got the somachine v4.2... tell me what can I do
@user-ok4of3dc8d: Machine expert is a later version of Somachine. If you cannot install the older Somachine to your computer, you might have to upgrade the firmware of your controller. I think it should be ok to click YES. The message basically means the current code/application in the controller is in the older version of the software compared to what you have in your computer. That's totally normal. Your controller needs to set to programming mode/stop mode to upgrade the controller firmware while the new uploaded code is downloaded to the controller. You just need to make sure it is set back to RUN/REMOTE RUN mode after your computer is online with the controller.

@@user-ok4of3dc8d: yes, correct. It should be ok. However, I would recommend you to check if the uploaded program has all the logic and controller configuration before proceeding. If the uploaded program somehow is empty, you should not proceed. Sometimes this can happen. when your uploaded program/code is empty, it means you were not able to upload the current code from the controller to your computer. Good luck.

I think this is more on TCP/IP Connection. But I guess the process for usb connection is the same.
one question: you already upload file from PLC, why you still do online multi download?
@Gang Li : I do "multi download" to test and see the actual program just uploaded from PLC (step 3). It is just for testing, not required.

@JEBA: Unfortunately, PLC is locked. If you need to upload the existing program from PLC, you have to have the password.

Excuse me, if you have a complete proyecto with a HMI and PLC , and you want to make an upload only from the PLC; You would do a source upload???
@Jose: I think "source upload" you mentioned is for something else. This video is to show how to copy the exact program from PLC to PC.
