    They are going to love the upgrade. I have never kept a puffer but maybe one day what would you recommend for a first puffer?Great video man.

      For a first puffer, I'd highly recommend pea puffers. They don't grow very big at all, you don't have to worry about their teeth unlike a lot of other puffers, but they still have big personalities.

    Love your puffers. I always tell people to come to your channel if they've got any questions about puffers. Because I know that you have a lot of knowledge and experience with them. But my question is what plants can you use in brackish water tanks?

      Appreciate that Cathy! Puffers are an awesome fish! Putting plants in a brackish tank can be tricky because of the salinity.
      I personally don't have much experience with plants in brackish water, but I've heard that some anubias plants and Java ferns have worked in brackish tanks. Since anubias plants tend to be very hardy typically, I could see them doing ok in low-end brackish water.

    When converting fresh water to brackish how long before bacteria starts forming again?

    Tank is looking good so far.👍 Is the 75 going to be their forever home then or will they need another upgrade?

    • @FintasticFreaks
      @FintasticFreaks  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. this will be there forever, or at least that's the plan. Typically green spotted puffers max out around 6 inches so a 75 should provide plenty of space for 5 of them.

    I know I'm a bit late to the party. But I'm setting up a brackish tank as we speak. Any pointers would be awesome

    So are you doing half of the tank fresh water then the other half salt water.....I wasn't sure I'm learning

    Do you add anything else to the water since it’s tap water ? Water conditioner? Etc. can any bottom fish live In that tank ?

    • @FintasticFreaks
      @FintasticFreaks  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I do. I use seachem prime as well. I use prime for my 2 brackish and all my freshwater aquariums. It's good stuff. 👍
      Some people have tried bottom dwellers in larger tanks, I've seen some folks do fish like knight gobies, but they also provide the gobies lots of hiding places as the puffers can get a bit nippy sometimes.
