It's actually updated by the Quest Pro app. Updated mine twice now. Great stuff mate.
Good machine with some nice touches.

@Rotherham Relic-Hunter I no longer have the quest mate. It was generally not bad at all. I just found it to noisy to be fair. Sorry can't be much help now. All the best with it though.

i just wished all machines had the square stem and quick release cams... they are great

Yep, its such a simple thing but makes the whole machine look and feel so much sturdier. Round stems are old hat now.

Sid I always enjoy your videos , I recently purchased the Quest detector that you were testing but I cannot get the machine to stablelise and run smoothly , my friends have tried my machine also without success , we are all well seasoned detectorists but we have not come across this problem before. I have contacted the supplier of this machine but you dont seem to get anywhere. I also know of a local chap that also bought one but he gave up and put it on ebay!. Cheers Sid. Michael Hicks is your quest pro the newer model??? A few years ago they brought one out and it was really erratic.... is your display the same as one in this video?

    • @thesearchermag
      @thesearchermag  6 ปีที่แล้ว

Michael Hicks if yours is the newer model and erratic try a different coil out as it is most probs a faulty coil... the new quest pro is very stable so it must be faulty

My detector is the new Questpro with the 3 selectable frequencies with the 2 coils and I have had it only a few weeks from Detectorbits , also it reacts the same with both coils, even conducting an air test you have to hold objects close to the coil to get a signal surely both coils cant be faulty also there seems to be an issue starting up the machine, i.e. when you first turn the machine on only the detecting mode comes on , you then have to turn the machine off then turn on again to get the machine to fully function. Regards Mick. Abbots Bromley.

yep seems like a faulty unit, get in contact with the shop , i'm sure they will replace/fix it, its a good detector normally...

Hi, I have a question, my quest still has the alarm like when you approached your salt water. what can I do because the knife responds to regulation and the alarm is still playing

Sid, one question, is this as good as an Equinox?

Looks like a nice bit of kit, but I think the multi Kruzer can do all that for less money. I think that's the problem, the price point on this machine. Great review Sid. ATB MMMD

      Mud Max Metal Detecting
I had the multi kruzer .took it to local park and it really didnt impress me . Same week i had brought a q20 for a laugh see how it performed coz i liked the ergonomic design of the whole machine.
Boy oh boy i was shocked it was joy to use and felt very much like my t2 which is still a all time fave.
Kruzer is gone and a used pro should be in post soon.
On the price point the two machines are level . Both come with high quality wireless headsets but the quest comes with two perfect size coils . A extra coil is £100 these days so the £75 price difference is justified in my mind .hope one day we will see concentric coil option which the kruzer has.

Thanks mate, yes, granted you do get 2 coils and that's a fair point. ATB MMMD

I just heard that Deteknix have been sued by first texas and will no longer be selling the Quest detectors? :-( Great shame as I was going to invest in a Quest pro for my beach hunting, no point now as I doubt there will be any product support now?

Why dont you use the same coin at different depths ? much better test than a bigger and bigger coin in each hole, Just a thought , all the best and thanks for sharing..

Agreed, putting a bigger target deeper just cancels the effect of being deeper. Bigger targets always hit deeper!

About recovery speed, i don´t think is good to hear the 3 differents tones. My MX7 simply suppresses the 2 trash signals and increase the good signal, as it was just one...and not 3

it's british built - so it's shit.. built cheap to compete with cheaper imports. if it had been built in the time of queen victoria - it would of been the utmost of engineering and quality. alas... i believe that metal detectors were not on the popular "must haves" in queen vicki's time. ( add the fact that they had not yet been invented) - but still, nice video!!!
